Yanzhi brought them to land on a mountain, Yue also jumped off her sword beside them before putting it away.

"Xiang gong what’s going on? Where are we and why are w..." Xiao Ling stopped in his words... he turned to look at a direction with dense of tress with a stoic face. "There are people fighting here" he suddenly stated forgetting the complains he just had moments ago.

"Liu and Chang are here" Yanzhi informed him as they took on the path they sensed the fight at.

"What? Why?" he asked with uneasiness. Judging from the sounds they were picking, it wasn’t a small fight, and there was a strong fluctuation of energy in the air. It made him slightly anxious for their safety. It wasn’t that he was worried that they would loose if they were engaged in a fight, hell no! that won’t happen, the people trained by Yanzhi himself aren’t weak to loose in a fight against others, and Liu and Chang weren’t even human in the first place so how could they loose? Xiao Ling just felt that they shouldn’t involve themselves too much in the schemes and conspiracies of the people in the capital, the capital is filled with malicious energy everywhere and they didn’t know exactly what is going on in the capital. They had long made up their minds not to get themselves involved in whatever happens or goes on in the capital, unless it’s of beneficial to them that they’ll be involved. So Xiao Ling couldn’t tell why Yanzhi decided to get involved.

"They said this immortal Pei was searching for a treasure and it was here... I just got curious and wanted to know what treasure would be found in this realm. I wasn’t very sure, so i just sent them to check on a whim. But since stepping foot on here, i can sense it.... there’s really a treasure here." Yanzhi explained to him so he would understand why he got involved.

"That happened? What treasure it is, do you know?"

"En! ...but i have to see to be sure. I guessed but..."

"But what what?" Xiao Ling asked seeing him stopped talking, he saw YanZhi squat. He wasn’t looking ahead and had his attention only focused on Yanzhi, so he didn’t sense what Yanzhi sensed until he saw YanZhi stopped and squatted. Xiao Ling bend to look at the blood trails on the ground.

"Is...that a trail made by a snake?" Xiao Ling asked looking carefully at the trail.

"It is, but it’s not left by them. It seems the animals on this mountain have been enlightened, if so then the treasure is really what i had in mind." Yanzhi stood up on his feet and said with a grim look.

Xiao Ling frowned inexplicably seeing the grim look on his face. "What kind of treasure is it that makes Xiang gong worried?" he couldn’t help but ask.

"Source Essence, filled with pure spiritual energy good for cultivation. Its also known as the Elemental Essence, because it’s divided in elements. It’s no worse than the spiritual energy which we cultivate directly from heaven and earth" Yanzhi answered and advanced again. Xiao Ling and Yue quickly followed.

"If it’s that good, then how come it’s in this time and space. Definitely, this time and space ..."

"It’s definitely not from here. Little wife, this was left by a cultivator from another realm or it was formed from the energy of a cultivator from another world who cultivated on this mountain. You and I are proves to that, a cultivator may have been stranded here before." Yanzhi cut him off answering.

Before Xiao Ling could say anything, Yanzhi went on to say again "but even so, the cultivators of this realm shouldn’t know about it. Yanzhi turned to him "en!" he nodded.

"This this immortal Pei is a dangerous liability to us if he comes to know about our existence. Hmm do we need to take him out first before that ever happens?" Xiao Ling said with thoughtfulness.

"No! You don’t need to mind, even it it’s true that he has gotten treasures and informations about cultivation and other realms, he is still weak and whoever it was that left proof of his existence here is weak to me. The source Essence may be a very good treasure which helps in promoting one’s cultivation but the one here is weak...that’s why I couldn’t sense it when we first arrived in the capital. And it’s already loosing it’s energy because of the impure energy here and because the animals here have know about it and have attained enlightenment and cultivating with it." Yanzhi opened his space and took out something looking like a small blue stone. The whole mountain trembled vigorously, the winds blew heavily as the branches and leaves of trees swayed excitedly, roars of animals sounded one after the other.

Xiao Ling felt his heart and soul and swayed. "This is what a Source Essence should look like" he heard from Yanzhi’s mouth as Yanzhi opened his folded palm showing him the blue stone in it. Xiao Ling was mesmerized as he stretched his hand and took it from Yanzhi’s palm without even knowing it.

"Careful or it will run, that one has consciousness of it own" Yanzhi said breaking him from his trance state.

"Consciousness of it own?" he asked shocked.

"En! This is one of the Source Essence born out of my qi on the mountain back at home, there are about ten of them now. It’s regretful that I’m not at my peak now, or there should be more. Back where i was from, about 100 of those are born from my qi everyday day!" Yanzhi said boastful. "But all those stayed with those treacherous disciples of mine!" he added with regret and disdained.

Xiao Ling just had no words in his mouths, just how powerful was YanZhi’s influence? He couldn’t even begin to fathom.

"Mistress!" Yue exclaimed and step in front of Xiao Ling as a figured flashed in their eyes to attack Xiao Ling. Yue blocked the figure’s attack, the figure jump back creating a distance between them staring greedily at the stone in Xiao Ling’s hand.

"Little wife put that away, it seems uninvited guests are flooding towards us because of it" Yanzhi said sensing the murderous intents surrounding them.

Xiao Ling nodded and put it away without looking where he threw it into. The figure which attacked him also came out from the shadow not sensing the Source Essence anymore, there they saw the appearance of the figure.

It was a girl looking younger than Liu, with pointy fluffy fox ears and sharp looking claw hands, and a fluffy tail behind. One could see that it was a fox in a half transformed human state with hairy skin.

"This.." Yanzhi uttered making an attempt to approach her.

"Fire wall!" in a panicked state she said in a hoarse voice, right then an orange flame wall appeared blocking between her and Yanzhi who wanted to advance to her.

"Fox Art?" Yanzhi muttered underneath his breath, but everyone with sensitive senses could hear him.

The half transformed fox watched him with vigilance and uneasiness.

"What’s that?" Xiao Ling asked seeing how strongly the half transformed fox reacted to Yanzhi’s words.

"A technique i created" was YanZhi’s simple answer.

"Your technique?" Xiao Ling was stunned. If it was his technique then why was the half transformed fox using it?

"If I’m right she should have a drawing of a fox kowtowing and worshipping a snake on her body serving as a mark" Yanzhi added making the half transformed fox more vigilant against him.

"How do you know all that" her voice broke as she struggled to ask in a hoarse voice.

"Because i am the snake who thought that lecherous fox the technique, to teach others was his choice to make. So seeing you use the first form of fox art is because you’re part of his clan?" Yanzhi said calmly to her and she stared at him unable to refute to anything he said. "So why are you serving under another while using what i thought to be used to protect only your species?!"

She felt shivers, Yanzhi’s aura leaked out as he was trying to contain his aura. The whole mountain was covered in gloomy aura which was just a drop of Yanzhi’s aura, Xiao Ling was stunned being his first time seeing YanZhi showing anger to someone else, he had seen Yanzhi angry before but that was when Yanzhi thought he(XL) didn’t want to be his dao, but apart from that Yanzhi rarely showed anger.

"Shigong i didn’t want to do it, he made me. He.. Ugh!!" her demeanor changed back to aggressiveness when she tried telling him something. she brought her claws to take an attacking stance and dashed towards Yanzhi.

"Whoosh" a sword slashed out of nowhere, she was barely able to dodge avoiding loosing her head, but her hair wasn’t saved as some were slashed off.

"Don’t kill her" Yanzhi said to Liu who came out of nowhere and stood in his front.

"Liu understands" she said respectfully to him without looking, her focus solely on the half transformed fox.

"Yue, i guess we should also start dealing with the pests" Xiao Ling said to Yue. She saluted and went ahead to fight those in hiding and surrounding them. Xiao Ling opened the undead plain and brought out the cyclops and dragon humanoid.

"Capture those who surrenders and kill those that resist" Xiao Ling ordered before they also advanced to the enemies.

"Little wife let’s leave here to them, and first find the Source Essence first" Yanzhi suggested and he agreed.
