Facing his son who had taken care of everything in his absence Yanzhi was filled with pride. He didn’t raise a useless some after all, Lijiu was very decisive in his ways and didn’t waste time talking nonsense with those who were deemed to die in his hands. Yanzhi had already seen everything that happened through his senses before getting there. And stopping him from chasing the one that escaped was because he was sure that that one was going to report to his master and the master himself would come. That was going to save him the work of finding the master himself.

"Father!" Lijiu nodded to him, his eyes swept over Hu Xiaoyue once and turned to Hu Ze who was kneeling beside Hu Qiqi.

Yanzhi didn’t say anything and just walked towards Hu Ze, every step he took they felt the earth vibrate.

"Beasts and humans are two different species that do not get involved." as he spoke his voice sent down chills to everyone there. He gave a grimace and a disgusted look to Hu Ze. "Humans have their own lives and beasts have theirs. Why involve yourself with humans?" he repeated the same words he said to Hu Xiaoyue, he was filled with doubts.

"Why, you ask." Hu Ze had a look of insanity, his face twisted looking very ferral. "What’s so great about him? Why can he be revered and have everything while we serve under him? Because he was the one to meet the immortal master and the one to be enlightened? Whatever he is was given to him while we worked hard for, why can’t we be like him?" as if barking Hu Ze looked to Hu Xiaoyue who since getting there looked as if he had lost his soul upon seeing Hu Ze with their enemies.

"What are you talking about? Without the chief you would still be just a fox running on the mountain and trying hard to avoid being hunted by the humans!" Hu Qiqi had a look of disbelief as she said with a sneer. "We’re able to cultivate because of the chief. The chief doesn’t owe us anything, he was kind enough to gather us who he had no relationship with him and guide us and protect us. The village, everything we owe it to the chief. He never abandoned us not even once." She paused as her eyes dangerously lingered on Hu Ze who seemed to have lost his mind. She could see in his face that he felt no remorse for what he did to their entire clan.

"You betrayed all of us! You betrayed everything that was taught to us! Everything we’ve learnt! We’re one and we make up for each other, how could you just throw away everything? What made you throw away even yourself?" her voice became louder as she drew her sword onto his neck.

He flinched for a moment but still stood his ground facing against the cruelty in her eyes. He wasn’t the slightest afraid of her, to him she was weak. The whole clan was weak. He only thought that she could flaunt power to him because she had strong backers, if not he would take no effort in crushing her. "Why? I want everything he has, I want it all to belong to me. For you all to serve under me, but it was a pity that you all were blind and couldn’t see. You think of him strong but infact he is the weakest amongst us all, doing the biding of the humans and helping them in anyway when infact the humans were weaker than us!" his words were venomous as he spoke in a tune of a venomous snake.

"Hahahahahah! Hahahahahahaha! Hahahahahaha!" he laughed crazily with his eyes turning red. "Our chief was made into a furnace by mere humans. They dual cultivate with him and became stronger as they cultivate with him. A lot of them, he served them helplessly and was made into a bitch begging in bed. His pleading voice when they first started to dual cultivate with him was a very soothing music to my ears. What elegance? What majestic? He’s nothing but a bitch who had been slept with by many old men. And those bastards who thought they were better than me, they also went through the same until they were all killed and their beast cores were used to cultivate. The more beast cores I use the stronger I got, if I knew about this I would have killed you all back on the mountain and not have sought the humans out for help!"

His face twisted with viciousness as he spoke of what he had done. Hu Xiaoyue started trembling being made to remember what he had being trying hard to forget. His fingernails scratched hard on his skin and his face turned green, his breathing heavy and was feeling dizzy. He retched crazily and he scratched himself harder feeling disgusted of himself, he thought of himself reeking with the smell of all of those men who served on him making him unable to stand himself. And Hu Qiqi also looked crazy her eyes reddened with tears falling incontrollable.

"You killed them! You bastard you killed them! They were your family how could you kill them? We loved you and cherished you, we did everything we could for you why did you have to ruin us?" she was brought onto her knees and was shaking crazily as she teared away.

Both Yanzhi and Lijiu had headaches being made to watch all this unfold in their presence, making both father and son more disgusted by Hu Ze.

"Your greed knows no bounds." Yanzhi spoke staring emotionlessly at him.

Hu Ze’s heart tightened and he got scared. He didn’t want to face both Yanzhi and Lijiu at all. He knew for a fact that he was no match for both and by the looks of things he could tell that Yanzhi was the immortal master that Hu Xiaoyue talked about to them. So in the presence of Yanzhi he felt like a nobody and could easily be squashed with a thought.

"Wh-what?" he asked his voice shaking.

"It’s obvious that humans and beasts, we all do things in our own ways." Yanzhi didn’t bother with him and continue to say as if trying to figure out something.

"I did what I had to do to get what I want.." Hu Ze said righteously to him.

Yanzhi paused and his brows creased as a frown settled on his face.

"And what you had to do was to resort to scheming like the humans?" Lijiu on the other side asked and snorted heavily.

"Think whatever you want to think, in the world strength matters and in a fight one doesn’t only confront with strength but with wits too."

"Don’t bring the manner of humans to beasts. We solve everything with our strength and the weak perish while the strong survive." Yanzhi interrupted coldly.

"Getting help from the humans was my wits in a battle I know that I had no chance in winning if I had to fight head on. Who said wits can’t be used in the fight of strength?" Hu Ze questioned self righteously.

Yanzhi sneered. "That sounds pathetic and hypocritical!"

"We beasts behave in our own ways. And the humans behave in their own way. For that I will have to enlighten you and you will have to reflect and learn the ways of the beasts, that will be your punishment."

Hu Ze’s eyes shrank and his heart pounded hard in his chest feeling that Yanzhi’s words sounded very dangerous. Before he could even think about escaping Yanzhi snapped his fingers and the ground under him disappeared opening up a black space.

"Ahhhhh!" was the only thing Hu Ze could mutter as he fell in as if sinking.

"Father what is that?" Lijiu asked curiously and looking to be interested.

"The void!" Yanzhi simple replied.

.......

The leader of the gang who escaped faster than a rabbit from Lijiu made no stop and ran as fast as he could back to the sect. Once he descended from the sky,

"Senior brother Chu!"

"Senior brother Chu!

"Senior brother Chu!"

He was greeted warmly by everyone who saw him. They looked at him with admirations but at the moment Chu was in no mind to pay attention to them. Instead he walked faster ignoring them all and was heading towards a specific direction.

"What happened to senior brother Chu?"

A young man stopped and asked with worry.

"Maybe something happened and he has to report to the sect master as soon as possible."

another answered to him.

"Recently things have been chaotic and all the seniors are running out everyday. Some return and some are never heard from again, if only we were strong like them we could assist them and reduce their burdens."

they stood discussing amongst themselves.

Chu was oblivious to their discussions. Upon arriving at the pavilion he cupped respectfully to an elderly man of grey white hair sitting crossed leg on the praying mat. A maid beside him and was making tea in an elegant way.

"Master.." Chu cupped respectfully.

Immortal Pei slowly placed the scroll in hand on the table and turned his attention to Chu. He frowned inexplicably and felt a chill in his heart.

"What happened?" he asked.

"We met someone who intervened. And that person looked just like the sect master of TianXin sect...but a younger version of him." Chu said with a solemn look.

"What?" Immortal Pei stood up at once turning the table upside down and startling the maid who took a step back in a hurry to avoid being implicated. "Leave us!" the maid bowed and quickly left.

"Report everything that happened!"
