Gu Fan simply shrugged, "How am I crossing the line? I’m doing this all for your sake."

Leng Le shot back, "Just pretend to be doing something. As long as we can deceive them, it’s enough."

Gu Fan responded seriously, "How long do you think we can deceive them, considering you aren’t pregnant?" His tone promised no argument, and what made it even worse was that he was seemingly doing it with Leng Le’s best interests in mind, making Leng Le so infuriated he felt like exploding.

Leng Le firmly refused, "Don’t be absurd. Even if they drain all my Qi, I won’t give in to you. I’d rather die than let you have your way."

"Such strong will! No wonder they call you the woman of valor," admired Gu Fan, switching quickly to a dubious look, "What about before when you did give in to me? Don’t tell me a sophisticated, modern woman like you can make mistakes too."

Leng Le immediately tried to explain, "I only did that to get close to you, to gain your trust. I was just acting."

Gu Fan swiftly agreed, "Exactly, it’s all acting now too, right? We’re just performing for Lisa to win her trust. If you were able to give in to me before, you can do it again now."

"What... Gu Fan, you..." Leng Le was so flustered she was at a loss for words, catching sight of Gu Fan’s smug grin. Enraged, she couldn’t resist giving him a punch.

Well, for now, the best plan was to stall the inevitable for as long as possible. According to Leng Le, the Wandering Sea Ghosts would send one of their own to draw out a person’s life force each day. And any living person sucked up to five times would essentially be done for.

Gu Fan calculated that excluding himself, there were Jie, Leng Le, and five others left in the cell - including pirates, crew members and subordinates of the big boss.

What worried Gu Fan was what would happen if the big boss, Lin Xi and others were late in making their move. Once the Wandering Sea Ghosts have drained the life force from the other five people, they’ll certainly set their sights on him, Jie, and Leng Le.

"Brother, you guys better hurry up," Gu Fan prayed silently, not wanting to be drained of his life force.

Considering how convincingly they needed to act, Gu Fan suggested Leng Le make some love sounds, making her very embarrassed. But in the end, Leng Le agreed, letting out a series of lovely sounds, which seemed to suggest that the two inside the room were getting along pretty well.

Lisa explained, "We had no choice. We’ve been drifting in this sea for nearly a thousand years. Out of boredom, we forced the people we caught to teach us their language. We also learned to play various musical instruments and host parties occasionally."

Gu Fan suddenly realized, "No wonder all of you were eavesdropping. You really were just bored."

"Don’t say it like that, aren’t we just concerned about you?" Lisa replied, her performance rather convincing to Gu Fan.

At that moment, Gu Fan noticed two Eastern women in ancient clothes, which sparked his curiosity. He asked, "That’s strange. Why do some Sea Ghosts have Eastern faces?"

Lisa nodded in acknowledgement, "Those are women from the Shennv Xuanhui. They came to our Triangle Sea Area seeking a mysterious island, but came across us instead. After a round of combat, we won and captured two of the Shennv Xuanhui members. Noticing that they knew magic, we turned them into Sea Ghosts to enhance our own strength."

"Wow, you guys are really something!" Gu Fan pretended to be impressed with a thumbs-up gesture and a look of admiration. He knew that the team the Shennv Xuanhui had sent to the Triangle Sea Area had been led by Qian Qing, and didn’t include powerful members like Qian Feng or Qian Ye. So, although Lisa’s Sea Ghosts had prevailed over Qian Qing’s Shennv Xuanhui, it didn’t necessarily mean that they were stronger than the Shennv Xuanhui.

However, Gu Fan couldn’t underestimate them; after all, they had defeated his boss. Perhaps, even with Lin Xi’s assistance, his boss still might not be able to prevail.

Recalling his boss’s words, first, he hadn’t known about the Sea Ghosts’ special abilities and had been caught off guard. Second, he hadn’t had any reliable help. Now, with the aid of Lin Xi, he claimed to have a good chance of counterattacking. It’s exactly because of these words from his boss that Gu Fan dared to risk his life.

"Hold on, these two women might be the key." Looking at the two ancient East-Asian women who had been transformed into Wandering Sea Ghosts, Gu Fan wondered if, since they had accompanied Qian Qing to the Triangle Area to look for an island, they knew where Qian Qing had found that island in the end.
