Chapter 410: Chapter 410: Things Happen Suddenly

At Ning Qi’s suggestion, Lin Xi brought Ning Qi to the girls’ dormitory to see if Lin Xi’s room was as exquisite as she was.

Because they often had guests, Lin Xi’s roommates weren’t surprised, but they hadn’t expected Lin Xi’s friend to be quite attractive too.

After having a pleasant conversation with Lin Xi’s roommates, Ning Qi struggled to suppress a giggle. Not only had she found Lin Xi, but she’d also discovered which dormitory she lived in; Lin Xi had nowhere to run.

At this moment, one of Lin Xi’s roommates asked, "It’s so late, why hasn’t Yang Xinran come back yet? Did she run into some trouble?"

"Where would there be any trouble on campus? I heard Yang Xinran’s boyfriend came, they’re probably flirting and can’t bear to come back," one chipped in

Upon hearing this, Ning Qi was overjoyed. If Yang Xinran and Lin Xi shared a dormitory, this would be even more advantageous.

Ning Qi had already thought of a good plan, so she pretended it was too late and said she had to leave, not wanting to disturb their rest.

However, Lin Xi insisted on escorting Ning Qi to the door. Before leaving, she, with a friendly face, adjusted Ning Qi’s hair and gently said, "Ning Qi, listen, even though your past behavior wasn’t good and it left a bad impression with everyone, I’m still willing to give you a chance as long as you behave as you did before."

Despite her calm tone, Lin Xi’s eyes flashed a stern and undeniable air, intimidating Ning Qi.

"Okay, I get it." Ning Qi couldn’t say anything, nor did she even have the courage to refuse. She turned to leave, muttering under her breath, "Lin Xi, just you wait, I’ll repay you for the humiliation you caused."

Once she was far enough away, Ning Qi quickly called Zhang Yang informing him about Yang Xinran’s secret rendezvous. Then Ning Qi made another call to inform the person on the other side that she had finally located Lin Xi.

Half an hour later, Yang Xinran returned to the dormitory. Even though it was quite late, she appeared to be lively which prompted the roommates to teasingly say, "What happened, Yang Xinran? It looks like you have reaped the rewards of love."

Yang Xinran replied, "Not at all, I was so tired from dancing that I hardly had the heart to accompany him. Didn’t I rush back to be with you guys?"

Hearing this, everyone did not seem to believe her. Lin Xi jokingly said, "The freshman party ended nearly two hours ago, you call this rushing back to be with us? Clearly, you spent your most precious time with your boyfriend."

All the roommates agreed, making Yang Xinran slightly embarrassed as Lin Xi asked her not to tease her. After all, everyone had only blessings for Lin Xi and Gu Fan and nobody teased them.

Since Lin Xi got the hint, she let Yang Xinran off the hook. Having once been a queen in her previous life, Lin Xi was not petty. She was able to get along well with Yang Xinran and bring a cheerful atmosphere to their dormitory life. Why not? It was quite tiring to be confronted with a hostile face every day.

At this time, one of the roommates wanted to wash her hair but ran out of hot water. Yang Xinran volunteered to fetch the hot water for everyone. Even though it was late and there were few people on the road, she was nervous. Therefore, she asked Lin Xi to go with her.

Lin Xi didn’t mind. She only wanted to be a normal person and get along well with her roommates, so she went with Yang Xinran.

The hot water place was not far, and throughout the journey, Yang Xinran chatted and laughed with Lin Xi. She tried to make friends, revealing a friendly attitude that Lin Xi had never seen before.

Yang Xinran expressed her gratitude to Lin Xi for giving up the lead dance spot that evening, providing her with an opportunity to shine and allowing her boyfriend to admire her.

Lin Xi started wondering if Yang Xinran was the kind of person who treated others better the better they treated her. If that was the case, then it seemed Yang Xinran would be a friend worth befriending.

Having fetched four bottles of water, Yang Xinran complained of a stomachache and asked Lin Xi to wait for her while she went to the washroom.

"Really, at this time?" Lin Xi was beginning to have doubts. Something didn’t seem right, but she couldn’t pinpoint what it was.

After waiting for a while and seeing no sign of Yang Xinran, Lin Xi’s eyebrows furrowed in worry. She was about to go check on her when a group of boys passed by.

They didn’t look like students, more like men who’d been wandering the world for a few years. Upon seeing Lin Xi’s beauty, they couldn’t help but approach her. "Hey, are you alone?"

Lin Xi merely gave them a polite smile without responding.

Regardless, the boys pursued, circling around her. "You’re so beautiful, it’s the first time I’ve met such a beautiful woman."

"Thank you. As your senior, I would suggest you return to your dormitories. You shouldn’t be loitering at such a late hour." Lin Xi maintained a gentle smile, but the same boys who had no sense of propriety moved even closer, as if they were trying to take advantage.

One of them overstepped his boundaries, placing his hand on Lin Xi’s shoulder.

"Please respect yourself!" Lin Xi swiftly flicked his hand off, her face darkened to signal she was not amused by his way of striking a conversation.

"We just admire you so much, why do you have to push us away? We’ll be very heartbroken." The boys didn’t give up and kept pushing.

Lin Xi gave a cold smile, "I don’t think you guys are students of this school. Did you sneak in from outside?"

After hearing this, the boys’ hearts somersaulted as it seemed that Lin Xi caught onto them.

"Since you’re not willing to pay due respect, you must accept the punishment!" The boys seemed to panic and were about to act when Yang Xinran who had just returned, saw them and cried out, "What are you doing?"

Hearing Yang Xinran’s shout, the boys looked guilty and quickly ran away.

This meant Lin Xi could confidently say that they weren’t from their school, they had snuck in. There was no telling what they would do.

Yang Xinran felt they must immediately notify the school’s security department, they couldn’t let these outsiders pose a threat to their school.

This surprised Lin Xi. She and Yang Xinran rarely saw eye to eye, could it be that their relationship was about to improve? But wouldn’t that be too sudden, just like the sudden appearance of those boys?
