"Gu Fan, it’s you! And Lin Xi too!" Ning Qi was both anxious and elated. She had almost given up when she unexpectedly ran into the people she had been looking for all this while. It seemed her luck wasn’t as bad as she had anticipated.

"Long time no see, what brings you to our university?" Gu Fan simply greeted, while Lin Xi squinted her eyes to scrutinize the situation. She sensed trouble, especially with the wary glances coming from the men around Ning Qi.

Ning Qi casually responded, "A friend of a friend studies here, so we thought we’d come and visit. Didn’t expect to bump into you two, what a coincidence."

Gu Fan nodded lightly, "Indeed. I thought we would never cross paths again."

Ning Qi chimed in, "We parted abruptly last time without getting a proper chat. You haven’t replied to my messages for days now. Did you change your number?" Once she finished, she proceeded to hand over her phone, indicating that she wanted Gu Fan’s phone number.

"Well..." Gu Fan hesitated. He had long since wanted to detach himself from Ning Qi and was reluctant to give her his number especially in front of Lin Xi.

Ning Qi frowned but quickly regained her cheerful demeanor, "What’s wrong? We’ve faced many trials and tribulations together, we’re practically like comrades. Are you seriously going to ignore our friendship?"

"Of course not. Why would we ever do something so heartless?" After uttering those words, Lin Xi took Ning Qi’s phone and entered her number.

Ning Qi appeared calm on the surface but silently rejoiced. She didn’t really care if she got Gu Fan’s number. Her main objective had been to get Lin Xi’s number, which she could report back home.

Gu Fan remained on guard, apprehensive of Ning Qi’s motives for this so-called "visit", much like what Lu Yi had warned.

Upon receiving Lin Xi’s number, Ning Qi jokingly glanced at Gu Fan and Lin Xi, "Looks like you two are together. Should I congratulate you?"

Lin Xi politely responded, "Thank you!"

Ning Qi suddenly proposed, "An unexpected meeting is better than a planned one. Since we happened to bump into each other, why not show me around campus Lin Xi?"

Gu Fan found it a little strange, "All schools are quite similar. There’s nothing special to tour."

"Alright, you heard what Ning Qi said. Head home early." Having finished speaking, Gu Fan turned to leave, not having time to entertain them. He needed to find Gu Ling and quickly return to where he was needed?

Though, Gu Fan was a bit worried. He had already sent several messages without receiving any reply from Gu Ling. This was unusual and made him feel uneasy.

After watching Ning Qi walk away, and then Gu Fan, the guys on the spot seemed troubled. They came with Ning Qi to find Lin Xi. Now, they have lost Ning Qi when they found Lin Xi.

One of them suggested, "We should wait at the school gate. It’s a school. Ning Qi won’t be in danger."

Another one said, "Ning Qi and Lin Xi seem to be close. It seems like they will hang out for a long time. How about we go first?"

"Go home if you want. We will wait here." Most of them admired Ning Qi and wouldn’t miss any chance to show off in front of her.

However, all of this was witnessed by Gu Fan, who was hiding in a corner. He hadn’t gone far because he wanted to see what these people were up to. Seeing that they seemed to be worried about Ning Qi, something was definitely amiss.

If Ning Qi ran into an old friend like Lin Xi and they have just friendly caught up, these people would have left already and not stuck around.

Gu Fan could have taken Ning Qi as a good friend who helped each other in life and death, even if he didn’t hold any special feelings for her.
