Just as Gu Fan was deep in his thoughts about Su Hui, a male student from the back row tapped on Gu Fan’s back to get his attention.

Gu Fan looked back and was surprised to find his classmate to be his workmate at his part-time job. He asked, "Hey, long time no see. How’s the job going? How’s the business?"

The classmate shook his head with a bitter smile. "Not good. The shop has closed. We don’t know why Sister Leng decided to do it. Business was going really well, but she decided to just call it quits. We are all very upset."

"What, the shop closed?" Gu Fan was initially surprised, but it made sense. If he were Leng Le, he would also choose to close the shop since it was no longer meaningful to keep it open.

His classmate then looked at Gu Fan intensely. "At first, I did not understand why Sister Leng would suddenly close the shop. Although Gu Fan knew that the big boss was not a good person, would he turn kindness into a grudge? If the big boss would not exact revenge, his subordinate Leng Le should not do anything either.

Gu Fan had to consider it carefully because his and his sister Gu Ling’s safety were all at stake.

The morning classes had ended, and there was still some time before the afternoon classes. Gu Fan couldn’t help himself and ran to the Business Plaza across the school to visit the restaurant that Leng Le had closed. He found that the building was empty now.

"Damn, she has moved out completely." Gu Fan frowned. He was still not at ease, so he sent a message to Gu Ling asking her to cycle home after school. As for himself, he decided to skip the afternoon classes.

However, when the door opened, there was an unfamiliar woman standing before Gu Fan, leaving him flummoxed.

The unfamiliar woman asked, "May I know who you are looking for?"

Gu Fan immediately responded, "I have a friend who lives here, are you the new tenant?"

The unfamiliar woman replied, "Yes, I am. I bought this house a week ago and then moved in. Are you talking about the lady who sold me the house?"

"Yes, she’s also a woman, and somewhat attractive." Gu Fan gave a simple description, hoping to extract some information about Leng Le from her.

Unfortunately, the unfamiliar woman stated that she had not been in contact with Leng Le ever since the house was sold.

However, little did Gu Fan know, just a short while after his departure, the unfamiliar woman in the house made a phone call, "Hello, Sister Leng. As you predicted, Gu Fan actually came to find you."

"How did you fare? Did you give anything away?" Knowing how vigilant Gu Fan was, Leng Le knew that anything unusual, a mere fleeting glance, could raise his suspicions.

The unfamiliar woman replied, "Don’t worry, Sister Leng. He’s quite flustered to know that you’ve moved. His attention wasn’t focused, he should not have noticed anything abnormal."

"That’s good!" Leng Le ended the call. She sat on the couch with her arms crossed, her expression grave. She did predict Gu Fan would come, but why? Was he there to clear the air? Or trying to salvage their relationship?

"Gu Fan, oh Gu Fan. Why did you have to be so smart and expose everything? Wouldn’t it be better if you knew nothing?" Leng Le, too, had invested a lot in this relationship. She had feelings of regret, but she had no thoughts of reconciling. What was lost was lost. As time passed, her feelings for Gu Fan would fade away.

Nevertheless, Leng Le was curious. Why did Gu Fan come to find her? Could he really be trying to make amends?
