Chapter 371: Chapter 371 A Secret Tunnel

In this maze-like place of darkness, Su Hui had been running for who knows how long, out of breath and desperate for a rest. Although she managed to lose the boss, the problem was she got lost.

Looking at the unfamiliar darkness around her, feeling as if she had lost her way, Su Hui prayed silently in her heart: "Gu Fan, Gu Fan, you must find me, you are my only hope."

After resting for a while, Su Hui stood up and bumped into a door. Curious, she pushed the door open and walked in, finding another empty room.

She scanned the room with a flashlight, noticed half-open hidden door behind a row of bookshelves, hinting more beyond.

"Interesting, could it be?" Su Hui walked over, pushing the hidden door all the way open, discovering a dark passage leading upwards, with iron bars mounted on the wall for climbing.

Since hidden passageways typically led to interesting places, considering Su Hui was already lost, she decided to climb up to see what she could find.

Meanwhile, Zhuo Hang was moving objects in another room. He effortlessly moved an object that appeared to be a crystal coffin, leaving Cui Qi dumbfounded with the display of strength.

An intricate Magical Array with twelve hours carved in its center occupied the middle of the room. The crystal coffin was originally placed in the middle of the Magical Array, but for some reason, Zhuo Hang seemed anxious to move it.

Cui Qi was intrigued by a nearby device filled with a liquid and several elixir-like objects inside. On the surface, it looked ordinary, but it felt extraordinary.

Unable to resist his curiosity, Cui Qi asked, "Zhuo Hang, just what are these things? Why do you care so much about them?"

"It’s none of your business. The most important thing here is this crystal coffin." Zhuo Hang had already moved the crystal coffin to the door, but he didn’t leave immediately. Instead, he searched around, grabbing all valuable blueprints, those were priceless treasures.

Seeing Zhuo Hang so anxious, Cui Qi became worried: "Tell me, Zhuo Hang, is this all for..."

"Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t." Zhuo Hang was eager to leave as soon as possible, without the patience to answer Cui Qi’s questions. A cold voice from behind countered, "If he won’t answer you, I will."

Upon hearing this voice, Zhuo Hang and Cui Qi’s hearts thudded. Slowly, they turned to see a figure emerge from behind the crystal coffin at the doorway, a hand resting on the coffin as if admiring a priceless work of art.

"Bo... boss..." Cui Qi shivered in fear. He didn’t dare to think about how the boss would deal with a traitor like him.

The boss seemed delighted, "Quite unexpected, you managed to infiltrate my team. I was puzzled, wondering why I kept being targeted so precisely, undermining my forces one by one. It was you, dear brother."

"What?" Cui Qi found it hard to believe, then observed the serious look on Zhuo Hang’s face, the tension apparent throughout his body, realizing the boss told the truth.

"Brother, how long has it been since we last met?" The boss crossed his arms and leaned against the crystal coffin in a playful manner.

Zhuo Hang said coldly, "Ever since you wiped out the Eternal life Clan, we haven’t seen each other."

"Yeah, I remember that day, I left you dying. I thought you wouldn’t make it." The boss seemed confused, studying Zhuo Hang carefully, "It looks like you’ve obtained eternal life yourself, dear brother."

"That’s right. I’m sure you’re disappointed I didn’t die. Thanks to father’s last act, I now possess eternal life. I’m grateful for what father did for me." Zhuo Hang stared back at the boss, a hint of resentment in his eyes.

The boss frowned, looking puzzled, "To gain eternal life, one must find twelve individuals born on the same day, the same month, the same year. With your injuries, there was no way you had time to find those people."

"Indeed, but father had already found twelve people born on the same day, same month, same year as me long ago. He was waiting for your experiment to succeed so I could gain eternal life." Zhuo Hang’s smirk was full of meaning, leaving the boss’s face increasingly unpleasant.

"What do you mean?" The boss asked, his tone and gaze filled with interrogation, "If I’m not mistaken, the twelve people who share my birth date and yours were found around the same time. So, I was just a guinea pig for eternal life, with you being the intended beneficiary after the experiment succeeded."

Seeing the boss’s agitated expression, Zhuo Hang couldn’t help but gloat: "Exactly, after all, father always loved me, his favorite son. And you..." Zhuo Hang let his voice trail off, but the insinuation was clear.

With these revelations, the boss tasted an unfamiliar bitterness, "That’s why. I was right in wiping out the Eternal Life Clan. They never deserved eternal life."

"You’re just a loser we gave up on. To contribute to our Clan’s dream and be granted eternal life was your honor. You showed no gratitude but instead massacred all clan members."

"You didn’t acknowledge me, and I still tried. You disregarded me, I could bear it. You suppressed me, I tolerated it. You gave up on me, even I almost gave up on myself. All I ever wished for was you to treat me as your own. But you sacrificed one of the twelve people who share my birth, the one person I loved the most. I can never forgive you bastards for that." The boss was fuming, his eyes showing a murderous gleam, an indication of the terror he embodied.

Hearing that, Cui Qi now understood why the boss had become the way he was; it was the accumulation of numerous incidents.

But Zhuo Hang showed no remorse: "You’ve always been a waste. The person you loved, like you, was despised by everyone. You pair were made for each other, your greatest contribution being helping us find eternal life."

"’Eternal life Clan’? Ha, an arrogant group of valueless beings. They haven’t contributed anything significant or produced anyone of worth, just a bunch of daydreamers who only deserve to dissolve into the river of history." The boss’s words clearly instigated Zhuo Hang’s arrogance, filling him with rage. "You ungrateful wretch, do you realize how glorious our Clan could have been without you? How many accomplishments we could have achieved? But you destroyed it all."
