Chapter 368: Chapter 368: Unique Crystal Ball

At this point, the Big Boss, Hai, Cui Qi, and a handful of their subordinates had arrived at the fourth floor of the bell tower. They found a control room, not knowing exactly what it was, frantically pressed a few buttons, and the electronic protective barrier outside disappeared as a result.

"Alright, let’s search somewhere else." The Big Boss quickened his trip as he spoke, believing that the most important things must be stored on the top floor and wanted to get there as quickly as possible.

However, this place was large, and some of the stairs leading up were difficult to find. The Big Boss and his men felt like they were moving in circles on the third floor before they finally made it to the fourth floor.

This massive tower must have at least nine levels, each of which was at least triple the height of a conventional house. Now that they were on the fourth floor, the Big Boss felt as though their progress was quite slow. Moreover, numerous can’t-be-used elevators had been destroyed – leaving them with no option but to use their legs.

Su Hui, Zhuo Hang, and Jie also arrived on the fourth floor, but didn’t bump into the Big Boss. This place was so big, filled with many corridors and rooms, they hadn’t run into each other yet, each party was searching on their own.

In one room, Xu Haowen found a great deal of books. The text seemed strange, and he had no idea what information they contained. However, he thought they were worth studying, so he kept them.

Everything of value inside this bell tower had already been taken away, leaving only meaningless junk behind. Yet Xu Haowen, an archaeologist by training, found everything fascinating and worthy of investigation.

"Alright, there’s no need to waste our time on these unknown things, we don’t even know if they are valuable. We need to find Gu Fan quickly," Su Hui said, her purpose in coming here was not to find any rare treasures.

Jie also nodded in agreement: "That’s enough, Gu Fan signaled us that he found food and drink, and those are the most important things to people like us who are currently in dire straits."

"Alright, alright!" Xu Haowen reluctantly set some items down. Meanwhile, Ouyang Jin comforted, "Once we find Gu Fan and sort out our food and drink situation, we’ll come back to investigate this place properly."

Luo Jingrong couldn’t help but exclaim, "This place beautifully blends technology and classic elements into the architecture. We seem to be witnessing both the past and future here."

Su Hui agreed. Each floor was so tall that there was a lot of usable space, offering complete design freedom. The ceiling looked like a flowing galaxy as if stars from the Ninth Heaven were about to descend.

On a wall next to Jie, many people were depicted. However, every now and then, the carving would move, taking on different poses, and even shedding tears, as if performing a story.

Everyone was fascinated when Su Hui noticed that Zhuo Hang had disappeared. She frowned and asked, "Who has seen Zhuo Hang?"

In response, everyone shook their heads, none had noticed when their companion had slipped away.

"Damn it, he can’t have gotten lost." Su Hui was anxious as she looked around and finally found a startled Zhuo Hang at a turning in one of the corridors.

Su Hui immediately questioned, "Where have you been? You had us worried."

Zhuo Hang quickly nodded in acknowledgment, admitting his mistake. He had let himself be so captivated that he had lost track of the group.

The place where Zhuo Hang was standing was extraordinary. The walls on both sides of the corridor depicted glaciers, the ceiling and the ground also reflected the same image. It felt like walking in an icy, snowy world, appearing so real.

Suddenly, the view switched from glaciers to a desert under a blazing sun, they all could feel the heat of the sun.

"My goodness, it’s so realistic I can’t differentiate reality from illusion." Jie and everyone else felt this way.

Zhuo Hang then said, "Alright, enough looking. Let’s speed up and find traces of Gu Fan and the others."

Su Hui nodded and followed behind Zhuo Hang. The others followed Su Hui as they continued to explore the place.

"When I was lost earlier, I found this crystal ball; I don’t know what it is, but I’ll give it to you to keep." With that said, Zhuo Hang took out a crystal ball that changed colors – blue one second, purple the next. There was even an illusion that the crystal ball was absorbing the qi from the surroundings.

"It seems like you found something valuable while randomly wandering around." Su Hui was curious about what this crystal ball could do.

Suddenly, the place darkened as the power supply stopped, and all tech activity ceased. They were instantly plunged into darkness, causing panic in Xu Haowen, who was terrified of the dark.

Su Hui remembered how it was dark when they first entered, then the environment gradually illuminated. Now, it was suddenly dark again. She was wondering if someone was controlling it, as this would explain why the previous electronic protective barrier had disappeared.

"Perhaps there is a control room here which can manipulate the defense measures. It might even allow us to leave this place smoothly." Su Hui figured that there could be several control rooms within the bell tower. Therefore, if someone touched the controls in a control room, things like the galaxy view on the ceiling and the moving wall engravings would appear.

Taking out their flashlights for illumination, Su Hui and the others did a headcount. They were one person short. "Odd, where’s Zhuo Hang?" Su Hui questioned.

"Don’t know," Jie responded, shaking his head. Everyone else also indicated they had not seen him.

Suddenly, Old Man Tian shushed them, and with a solemn look on his face, he stared ahead and said,"I heard sounds coming from over there."

"If there’s noise, Zhuo Hang might have run ahead," Ouyang Jin guessed logically. However, Old Man Tian shook his head and said,"No, it’s not Zhuo Hang’s. It’s not the sound of a single person but several people. One of them has a very heavy step, not human."

"What do you mean? Could it be Gu Fan and Lin Xi’s group?" Jie was puzzled, when suddenly a burst of flashlights appeared in the future, and a group of people strode in.

"Old man, I admire your hearing. You’re right; I’m not a normal person." The Big Boss strode and laughed simultaneously, "It’s been a long time, hero among women. Regarding our last feud, I was waiting for the right time to settle the score with you properly." But the Big Boss was interrupted. His smile froze immediately when he saw the crystal ball in Su Hui’s hand, and demanded, "What is it? How do you have it? where did you find it?"

"This thing?" Su Hui looked closely at the crystal ball in her hand. She furrowed her brows. It was something that Zhuo Hang had picked up; she didn’t understand why the Big Boss looked so concerned when he saw it. Was it because there was some secret attached to it?
