Chapter 1386: Electric Current Frenzy
Chapter 1386: Chapter 1386: Electric Current Frenzy
"What the heck happened, where’s the guy from before?" Li still didn’t understand; he just passed out a moment ago, and his life hung by a thread, at the mercy of the other. Given the other’s ferocious demeanor, he didn’t seem like someone who would show mercy.
Gu Fan explained it like this, "After you fainted, I struggled and resisted for a bit, but I still couldn’t beat him. Luckily, a few vampires came and drove the guy away, and we got our lives back."
"So that’s what happened." Li came over, helped the sore Gu Fan to his feet, and thanked him repeatedly, "Thank you, even though you’re pretty useless, you still saved my life."
Hearing that, Gu Fan chuckled, "Thank you, for not forgetting to sneer at me while expressing your gratitude."
"It’s nothing, it’s what we should do to help each other." No sooner had Li finished speaking than he stood there, dumbstruck, as if he had seen something unbelievable.
Gu Fan’s eyes also widened in shock as he watched the electric currents and flashes shooting out of the darkness. The crackling sounds made it feel extremely dangerous.
Out of curiosity, Gu Fan wanted to check out who the powerful adversary was. But Li was afraid and thought it best to keep his distance.
Gu Fan was insistent on taking a look, thinking that if this group with special abilities was an enemy to Organization X, then the enemy of an enemy could be a friend. There was a good chance to form an alliance with them. United in strength against a common formidable opponent, there was no reason to refuse.
Seeing Gu Fan run over, Li, feeling scared on his own, gritted his teeth and followed.
Sparks of electricity twinkled in the darkness; the sound of the electric current crackling was particularly eye-catching. Gu Fan approached cautiously, his heart pounding wildly. This had to be a formidable opponent, otherwise, they wouldn’t be drawing so much attention.
At the most open space in the center of the warehouse, there stood a person with currents of electricity flickering faintly over his body, hair flowing, eyes blazing like torches, fists clenched, exuding power.
In the Hunter’s Guild, Lie Dian’s strength was certainly remarkable; with his mastery over lightning, he once stormed into an Organization X den by himself and turned over thirty vampires into charred corpses, uprooting the den entirely.
Five vampires surrounded Lie Dian, trying several times to attack, but they were pushed back by the electrical currents each time.
"Damn it, why does this guy have power over electricity?" The vampires were furious but helpless; when they touched the current, their bodies went numb.
Lie Dian sneered coldly, "Aren’t vampires from Organization X claimed to be invincible? Is this really the best you can do?"
"Don’t be so smug!" A cold voice came through, and a rather imposing vampire appeared, casually tossing a stone in his hand up and down.
Realizing the tactic, the other vampires quickly understood they needed to switch to ranged attacks and began grabbing things to wield.
"Brothers, let’s give him a warm welcome." Having said that, one of the vampires threw a stone at Lie Dian, with a force so terrifying that the stone whistled out like a bullet.
Lie Dian, cool and collected, barely shifted and dodged the stone. It crashed into the wall, leaving a gaping hole.
"Let’s see how long you can dodge." The vampires went into a frenzied uproar, invigoratedly shouting as they hurled their projectiles at Lie Dian.
Lie Dian’s movements were too fast, darting around like a bolt of lightning, nimbly avoiding every object flung at him at the last possible moment, never showing a hint of panic on his face.
From the shadows, Gu Fan watched, truly impressed. This person’s strength was immeasurable; he feared he was no match against him.
Lie Dian dodged while moving toward a vampire, suddenly pulling out a wooden stake from his hand.
"Think you can kill me? You think you’re the only one with speed?" The vampire was not an easy opponent either, using its speed to dodge away.
However, in the blink of an eye, Lie Dian teleported behind the vampire, saying indifferently, "In terms of speed, you’re far behind."
Just as Lie Dian was about to pierce the vampire’s heart with the wooden stake, other vampires arrived, one of them ramming into Lie Dian and sending him flying.
Lie Dian quickly released an electric current, paralyzing the approaching vampires, preventing any further threat.
"Dammit, this electric current is really annoying," the vampire growled angrily, its eyes gradually showing a ferocious glint as they seemed ready to fight more desperately.
After a round of combat, Lie Dian’s arm was injured and he couldn’t lift it. Meanwhile, the vampires were gradually recovering, each starting to stretch and flex their muscles, eager to try again.
Gu Fan noticed something was amiss—Lie Dian’s speed was fast, and his electric current powerful, but in hand-to-hand combat, his strength was completely overshadowed by the vampires. So that last impact had fractured Lie Dian’s arm.
Having assessed Lie Dian’s abilities through the last exchange, the vampires decided to attack.
Three vampires charged from three directions, baring their teeth and claws, howling to boost their morale, and also to create pressure on Lie Dian.
Lie Dian could only press one hand on the floor, releasing a great amount of electricity, with the current starting to spread out from him as the center.
"Fuck!" The three vampires were convulsing from the electricity, collapsing to the ground.
The remaining vampires immediately sprang into action. They saw that Lie Dian needed a short time to charge up with each release of his electric current, and they seized this opportunity to pounce on him.
Gu Fan realized the previous charge by the three vampires was just a distraction to draw out Lie Dian’s current, leaving Lie Dian needing time to prepare his next move. With their quick movements, the vampires could easily take Lie Dian down before his next strike.
With just one punch, Lie Dian was sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground, in extreme agony.
"Brothers, don’t give him a chance to release electricity, finish him off," the vampires shouted, their hands already transformed into sharp weapons.
Watching Gu Fan truly felt anxious for Lie Dian; he could scarcely restrain himself, wanting to help. But if he became an enemy of Organization X at the scene, then all his previous efforts would be wasted, and he would be trapped as well—unable to save anyone and endangering himself.
"Sorry, brother, it’s up to you now," Gu Fan closed his eyes, almost unable to bear watching.
At this critical moment, Lie Tie roared and leaped out, landing heavily, using his body of steel to block all the sharp attacks of the vampires, buying Lie Dian a bit of time.
"Thanks!" Lie Dian gritted his teeth in silent gratitude, forcibly pulling himself together, his hands releasing a surging electric current. The previously dark surroundings were illuminated by his electric light, indicating that a major attack was coming.
"Everyone, be careful!" The vampires realized something was wrong and quickly moved away from the area.
