Chapter 1169: Chapter 1169: Trapped in an Illusion

The hunter furrowed his brow, this was the first time he had encountered a vampire that couldn’t be killed, he wondered if these three were like Zhuo Hang, possessing perfect eternal life.

But the hunter thought again and found it wrong, if it were truly perfect eternal life they should at least be as strong as Zhuo Hang, yet these three vampires were so weak that they were easily defeated.

The hunter turned back and glanced at the wall again, it was still intact, where it should have been shattered there wasn’t a single mark, the vampire had special abilities to recover, but how could a wall?

"Oh, I get it, is it Illusion?" The hunter quickly understood, then closed his eyes and used his heart to sense.

The three vampires panicked, shouting and attacking, their momentum was fierce, trying to pressure the hunter and disrupt his concentration.

The hunter simply ignored them, calming his heart, he slowly heard every move around him, he heard the sounds of Lin Yue still fighting.

At that moment, the three vampires pounced on the hunter, but they passed right through him as if he were air, which proved that all of this was indeed an Illusion.

"Not bad at all!" The hunter opened his eyes, glanced back, and saw the broken part of the wall had reappeared.

Just as the hunter was about to go help Lin Yue, he was shocked to find a silent figure standing behind him, when had it arrived? With the hunter’s insight, he hadn’t noticed, and that sent a chill down his spine.

"You’re the hunter who has killed countless of our Xue Clan." The vampire’s voice was hoarse but filled with a daunting presence.

Without a word, the hunter’s Jian Qi erupted, pushing the vampire back.

It was only an instant, and the vampire had gone from behind to the front, clawing viciously toward him.

Relying on his reflexes, the hunter forcefully grabbed the vampire’s arm, but upon contact, he felt the vampire’s immense strength and nearly failed to hold on.

"Impressive, aside from the legendary Xue Wang, there’s another so formidable among vampires, could you be the Xue Wang?" The hunter was horrified, he hadn’t expected to encounter such a tough opponent this time.

The vampire sneered, pulling back its arm, and then rapidly retreated.

"Speak, are you the Xue Wang or not?" The hunter demanded, receiving the vampire’s indifferent response: "Do you hope that I am Xue Wang?"

"I really hope you are Xue Wang, that’s the vampire I most want to kill," the hunter said as he gripped his sword tighter.

The vampire answered lightly, "I’m sorry, I’m not Xue Wang, my name is Xue Hun, and in the entire Xue Clan, my strength is also top-notch." After speaking, Xue Hun stretched out his finger and waggled it in front of the hunter, muttering some strange incantation under his breath.

The hunter wanted to strike, but suddenly everything went black, and he found himself plunged into endless darkness, he immediately sank his heart, understanding that his opponent was a vampire skilled in Western sorcery.

It was very rare for vampires to learn magic, but this vampire had done it, so his claim that his strength was second to none in the Xue Clan had its basis.

"Do you think this level of Illusion can trap me?" Before the hunter could finish speaking, he felt a hand reaching out of the darkness.

Without a second word, the hunter slashed out with his sword, and blood splattered instantly, the aggressor paid the price.

The hunter suddenly felt a sharp pain in his arm; he couldn’t see clearly in the darkness, but he knew he had been injured. This round had ended in a draw.

"Interesting! You indeed have some skill, but compared to that masked fellow, you’re nothing," the hunter grew increasingly excited. The stronger the enemy, the more he wanted to bring them down.

The darkness was deathly silent, and the hunter could only hear his own breathing and heartbeat. He didn’t know from which direction the enemy would strike next; all he could do now was wait passively for their approach.

The hunter closed his eyes again, focusing his mind not only on breaking the Illusion but more importantly, on sensing every movement around him.

"Here!" The hunter swung his treasured sword into the darkness, clearly feeling it strike something, but with no blood splattering onto him, he instantly knew something was amiss.

Xue Hun attacked from another direction, having just thrown something to distract the hunter in order to launch a sneak attack. One hand had already reached the hunter’s heart.

"You’re finished!" Xue Hun’s five fingers plunged deeply into the hunter’s body.

The hunter snorted coldly and gathered his Jian Qi to form a Jian Gang, which exploded from within him and pierced through Xue Hun’s body, sending them flying.

Although he had seriously wounded his opponent, the hunter was also injured, with five blood holes at the position of his heart on his back; they weren’t deep but still troublesome.

However, what concerned the hunter more was the endless darkness; if Xue Hun had created it, then the Illusion should have dissipated automatically after they suffered heavy injuries.

Unless another person versed in magic was involved. Upon this thought, the hunter’s heart sank, suspecting that this was no ordinary stronghold of Organization X.

The hunter closed his eyes once more, listening intently, feeling the slightest breeze and movements around him, the dripping of blood onto the floor, the suppressed breathing of Xue Hun enduring the pain, and also the panting of Lin Yue who was embroiled in a difficult battle.

Gradually, the hunter heard the sound of chanting. Although it was coming from beyond two walls, he could pinpoint the caster’s exact location.

"Stop playing tricks and come out," the hunter growled, pointing his sword in that direction. The sword’s tip unleashed a fierce Jian Qi, piercing through a wall as if it were paper, and the next wall was no obstacle.

Then the hunter heard a shout; it seemed he had hit his mark, and subsequently, the darkness vanished.

The hunter surveyed his surroundings, seeing Xue Hun clutching their wounds on the ground, their eyes filled with terror as if they hadn’t expected their Illusion to be broken by the hunter once again.

The hunter paid no attention to Xue Hun or whoever had cast the spell from the shadows; his only worry was Lin Yue’s condition.

Just as the hunter was about to rush over to help, Lin Yue emerged from the shattered wall, wounded and bloodstained.

The two exchanged glances, and Lin Yue complained, "Master, next time you take me into combat, please find a more suitable opponent. I almost didn’t make it back."

Upon hearing this, the hunter couldn’t help laughing, "Sorry, it was my misjudgment that got you beaten up, but this place really is beyond my expectations." Having said that, the hunter glanced back at Xue Hun, whose injuries had almost healed, his eyes filled with murderous gleam and ready to continue the fight.

Suddenly, the room’s door burst open, and a group of people walked in with Chris at the forefront, exuding an imposing aura. Each of them had an expression not to be trifled with, especially Chris, whose face bore an unmistakable arrogance.
