Chris started off with an air of haughty arrogance, "So you’re the hunter, just as formidable as the rumors suggested, but it’s unfortunate you decided to provoke me. Do you know who I am?"

The hunter, observing the pride in Chris’s eyes, quickly guessed his identity. "With so many skilled fighters at your side, you must be a noble from Organization X, carrying the X Family bloodline."

Chris smiled faintly, "Correct, I am a noble. You being an ordinary vampire could have been overlooked, but you dared to challenge me. Do you understand the price you’ll pay? Years ago, you and your master led an elite squad of the Hunter’s Guild into Dark City. I admire your courage for entering our headquarters, but you killed a noble vampire. The result was that the squad following you was completely annihilated. Even your master, the heir to the previous Jian Shen, died at our hands, and you barely escaped. Since then, you have never again dared to trouble vampires or humans of the X Family bloodline."

The hunter snorted coldly. "Humans, I never intended to target them. From start to finish, the vampires who harm others were my target—be they ordinary or nobles. I will kill any I see, even Xue Wang himself."

Hearing this, everyone couldn’t help but laugh. Chris even mocked, "Since you’re so powerful, why haven’t you stepped into Dark City for so many years? Our Xue Wang has always lamented the lack of worthy opponents."

"Rest assured, when my master sacrificed himself to let me escape from Dark City, it was to ensure that the lineage of Jian Shen did not perish. Now, I will use every ounce of my strength to ensure your safe departure. Compared to Dark City, these fellows are nothing."

"Such big words; clearly not taking us seriously at all," muttered a few vampires from behind Chris, anger rising. One of them, powerful and marked on the forehead, was clearly a noble vampire.

The hunter pointed his sword at the noble vampire, his eyes flashing with deep-seated hatred. "I remember you. You are Xue Jun, a noble vampire. You were part of the group that killed my comrades and pursued my master and me in Dark City."

"Indeed, I’m surprised you still remember me," Xue Jun said with a cold smile. He, like Xue Hun, was a true member of the Xue Clan.

In Organization X, vampires with the X Family bloodline are known as noble vampires and can be addressed as members of the Xue Clan. Ordinary vampires are just called vampires.

But the name vampire was too ugly; in front of others, many vampires preferred to call themselves the Xue Clan.

"Attack!" With Xue Jun’s command, all the vampires charged forward.

"Come on, whoever retreats is a coward!" The hunter charged forward, swinging his sword fiercely. His swordsmanship was too formidable; Jian Qi filled the room, slicing two attacking vampires into pieces.

"I’ll hold off the hunter, you guys go deal with his disciple," Xue Jun bellowed, and then once again bravely tried to engage the hunter.

The other vampires set their sights on Lin Yue, giving him the creeps, "Oh come on, you cowards, can’t beat my master, so you come after me."

"Kid, prepare to die." The vampires held no morals, and they swarmed him.

Lin Yue could only run. He was already struggling to fight one vampire, let alone seven or eight. Plus, he had just gone through a tough battle and was injured, making it even harder to fight.

"Damn it, you bastards!" While the hunter needed to face Xue Jun, he also worried about Lin Yue being in danger, potentially leading to a situation of losing focus on one for the other.

A scream followed as the vampire flew into a window, shattering the glass and tumbling out.

A college girl just happened to be passing by, just as this vampire fell from the sky right in front of her, startling her greatly.

"Damn it, so infuriating!" The vampire tumbled in a mess, feeling terrible. Once he recovered, he saw a very pretty and innocent-looking girl standing before him, and he couldn’t help but smile, finding her quite appetizing.

Looking into the vampire’s pitch-black eyes and spotting the sharp fangs in his mouth, the college girl was not frightened at all, instead saying, "You’re a vampire, aren’t you? You look quite a mess."
