Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 1138: Coming to the Rescue

Chapter 1138: Chapter 1138: Coming to the Rescue

In order to prevent Gu Fan from escaping, in addition to some vampires pursuing him in the forest, Qiao Ya and Dong Ni led a group of people waiting on the periphery, and had arranged personnel on almost every road into the area and possible escape routes.

At one road section, several people posed as road maintenance workers, having just arrived to guard the site as instructed, when they saw two vans approaching, which immediately raised their alert. They quickly ordered them to stop, "Sorry, the road ahead is damaged, please turn back."

The van driver stuck his head out, "If the road is damaged, you should have set up a roadblock at the entrance. Asking us to turn back now could cause us to hit other vehicles."

"Sorry, very sorry!" The few men lacked the patience to explain. One of them was a vampire, who directly pulled the driver out of the vehicle and then revealed his sharp vampire fangs.

However, the driver swiftly pulled out a wooden stake and drove it into the vampire’s heart with precision and ferocity, clearly a well-rehearsed maneuver.

The others, seeing the vampire taken down, panicked immediately, pulled out their guns, but the people from the vans also drew their guns with even more firepower, effectively wiping out all of Organization X’s men.

A woman, dressed in a black trench coat, stepped out of the van, surveyed the scene, and then said, "Hurry and dispose of them, don’t let anyone from Organization X discover we’ve been here."

A few people followed orders and began to get busy, while someone else came over expressing concern, "Irina, we’re now on the enemy’s turf, and the two most powerful people in Organization X are here. It’s possible we could be annihilated here."

"We split into several groups and proceed with caution. Find the person Organization X wants to kill, and then just get him out," Irina said, looking into the dark forest with a tight frown. "Our undercover said that person is very special, enough to attract the attention of the two most powerful people in Organization X. We must rescue him."

Her companion was pessimistic, "We received the message, quickly assembled, then got here, taking at least forty-five minutes. I’m afraid that person has already fallen victim to Organization X."

But Irina shook her head, "If that person had really been captured by Organization X, why would there still be people from Organization X setting up roadblocks here?"

"Yeah!" The companion felt that made sense but also found it incredible, "Could that person have lasted this long under the pursuit of Organization X?"

"Without something special, how could he possibly attract the attention of the two most powerful people in Organization X?" Irina said with a slight smile, then began to divide her subordinates into four groups—one to stay behind, with the other three splitting up to enter the forest.

Just at that moment, Irina’s phone rang. She looked at the number and answered immediately, "Hello, how are things on your end?"

"My God, this guy is definitely not ordinary, incredible." The undercover vampire expressed such a sentiment, "Where are your people? Hurry up for backup. Although this guy can fight, I don’t think he’ll last much longer."

"Okay, I’ve got it. Try to send us a signal." Irina hung up the phone, then pricked up her ears, barely making out the sound of fighting coming from one direction.

"It’s there, everyone follow me!" Irina quickened her pace, while loading her spikes and bullets.

Seeing Irina, a woman, charging ahead, the several big men had nothing to fear, so they too sped up, closely following behind her.

At that moment, the undercover vampire hung up the phone and peered out from behind a thick tree, observing Gu Fan, who was firmly surrounded by vampires and unable to escape; his shaky appearance was quite evident as three vampires lay at his feet.

"I said it before, whoever comes at me first, dies first," Gu Fan said with a cold laugh, causing the vampires to lose their courage once again—who would dare to advance?

One of the vampires roared, "Haven’t you seen that this guy is at his limit? If we all go at him together, we’re sure to take him down this time."

"Oh, you talk a good game. Why don’t you give it a try?" Gu Fan focused his gaze on the shouting vampire.

"Bring it on, I’m not afraid of you," the vampire bellowed and then, like a madman, charged towards Gu Fan, believing his own speed was something Gu Fan, in his weakened state, couldn’t contend with.

Gu Fan, seeing a figure rapidly approaching, knew he couldn’t take the hit head-on due to his depleted energy. So, he crossed his arms in front of him, bent his body, and planted his feet firmly on the ground.

The previous vampires who had attacked head-on had been caught by Gu Fan; this one had learned his lesson. Pretending to launch a frontal assault, he actually sidestepped to Gu Fan’s right and then swung his fists in a flurry of blows.

This vampire was smart, using his speed advantage to rapidly move around Gu Fan, front and back, left and right, exploiting Gu Fan’s slower reactions. After a dozen punches, he had Gu Fan reeling.

Seeing such a clear advantage, the other vampires began to cheer him on, even rubbing their hands and preparing to take advantage of the situation.

However, Gu Fan did just one thing; he stuck out his foot and tripped the high-speed vampire, then took advantage of the vampire’s disoriented state to rush over and plunge a wooden stake into his heart.

The vampires who had just been cheering for their imminent victory fell silent in an instant, watching Gu Fan rise to his feet with a fearful gaze. They were the monsters, but the way they looked at Gu Fan was as if he were the true monster.

Gu Fan, leisurely and without hurry, twisted his neck, then said lightly, "I must say, you’re quite a handful to deal with, but one thing I can assure you of—before you manage to take me down, several more of you will die. The same rule applies—whoever comes first, dies first."

"You bastard!" The vampires were now both hateful and afraid of Gu Fan, gritting their teeth, yet not daring to attack.

Gu Fan’s psychological warfare had temporarily stabilized the situation. He hoped to buy a little more time so he could regain some strength; maybe he really could break out of the encirclement.

"Wait a minute, I have the Destiny Stone Body Guard, what am I afraid of?" Gu Fan suddenly remembered his trump card and got fired up, "Come on, if you don’t make a move, then I’m going to start killing my way through."

"How is it possible that this guy is getting stronger the more he fights? Is he even human?" Of the remaining seven vampires, one was the undercover agent, and he felt that even without Irina’s help, this guy could fight his way out.

Just as the remaining vampires started to waver, Blood King’s cold voice came over the walkie-talkie once again, "After so much time, you still haven’t caught that kid? You’ve completely disgraced the Xue Clan. I’m giving you ten more minutes. If you can’t overcome him by then, I’ll take matters into my own hands, and you all will be dealt with as well."
