Chapter 543 Rest Time

Chapter 543: Chapter 543 Rest Time

When they got back to Lucina’s house, it was already the latter part of the night. Chen Ke threw the backpack filled with Spirit Power Sealing Hand Grenades onto the table and briefly explained the current situation.

If they were to stick to the plan, there was a high likelihood that they would encounter some unknown third party during tomorrow’s robbery. They still didn’t know why this third party wanted to rob the Administration Bureau, but there was definitely going to be a fight when the two sides met.

Hall and Priskin were already not too fond of robbing the Administration Bureau, yet Chen Ke didn’t want to delay the operation just because of this slight change.

No matter who the other party was, they were merely at the level of a Spiritual Ability User, and from the woman they encountered tonight, her group didn’t seem very strong; regardless of whatever they possessed that filled them with enough confidence to dare to strike at the Administration Bureau, Chen Ke didn’t care.

After tonight, that woman would probably be caught by the County Police, which should disrupt their plan. But if they still didn’t change their plan tomorrow and bumped into Chen Ke, it was going to spell death for them.

"Do you guys know how to use these grenades?" Diana asked, picking one up and examining it.

"Of course we know how to use them; what do you take us for?" Hall said.

"You use grenades when you rob banks? I thought you just needed to yell at the people behind the counter with guns in hand," Diana laughed.

"You know nothing about bank robbery," Lucina said sarcastically.

"What we need now is unity, not mutual disagreement. Tomorrow’s operation proceeds as usual. And... you guys are all set, right?" Chen Ke looked at Lucina.

"There won’t be any problem; I’ve seen what those greedy bastards look like." Lucina nodded.

"Well... it’s already 3 a.m.... if we don’t want to doze off during tomorrow’s action, we better go to sleep now," Priskin said.

Chen Ke looked down in thought before saying, "Follow me, you can sleep as long as you want."

Chen Ke led everyone to the Illusion Dream Center. Several keys appeared in his hand. Mysteriously, the building, which used to have only five floors, now had eight.

He asked Lucina and the others to wait where they were while he ran upstairs to check things out, discovering that starting from the sixth floor, the stairwell transformed into what looked like a college dormitory.

This broken space was actually capable of upgrading itself, stacking a dormitory from his student days on top of the apartment building he lived in...

He arrived at a brownish-red wooden door, with the number "302" sprayed in white; the room he had lived in around 2005 when he was a high school freshman. Pushing open the door, the furnishings inside looked very much like what he remembered—of course, he had forgotten the specifics, but the feeling was correct.

"What else will this place turn into?" Chen Ke muttered to himself.

He went back down to the fourth floor, called up Lucina and the others, and walked upstairs. Staying in the dormitory was more convenient for the four of them; the five floors below consisted of family apartments, and it would just be more trouble to assign one room per person.

"What is this trick of yours again? Are you ready to be completely honest with us?" Hall looked outside the stairwell as they walked, and Priskin was also very curious since it was their first time entering the Illusion Dream Center, and they were quite cautious.

"This place is very safe, boys. That’s also why Chen Ke has the guts to rob the Administration Bureau," Lucina explained, though she wasn’t very fond of the lighting environment here.

"You can sleep here as long as you want since time doesn’t work here, but you better not wander around too much; I’m not clear on what might change here, especially... don’t go to the other side of that open space..." Chen Ke pointed towards a path opposite the circular plaza downstairs.

Even for Chen Ke, going over there would reduce him to nothing, confiscating all his abilities. As for these ordinary people, whether they would instantly die if they ran over, he wasn’t sure.

Chen Ke opened the dormitory, letting Hall and Priskin pick their beds and cautioning them not to mess with the furnishings.

"This place creeps me out; you’d better explain exactly where we are..." Priskin was tense, his muscles tight as he stared at a white porcelain cup on the table for a long time.

"Is this a safe house in the Fei Huang Republic? I see all the decorations here are in that style... Chen Ke, where did you find this place?" Hall was also somewhat skeptical.

"You won’t lose your life here, rest easy. If you’re bored, just lean on the railing and enjoy the view. When you’re ready, let me know and we’ll head back to Opportunity City," Chen Ke said, folding his arms, still not willing to reveal too much to anyone besides Lucina and Diana.

"Trust me, guys; there’s no problem here, I’ve been here a few times," Lucina said.

Priskin and Hall exchanged glances, knowing Chen Ke didn’t want to reveal too much. For Lucina’s sake, they didn’t ask further and followed Lucina into the dormitory, trying to reassure and guide them.

"By the way, where’s Parker? I haven’t seen him at all," Diana said.

"I’ve been here all along; just couldn’t find a chance to chime in."

Parker’s voice suddenly came from behind Chen Ke, and the floor’s dust swirled up, gathering into a human shape.

"Fuck!" Diana shuddered in fright and hastily stepped back, flames erupting from her body. The flames burned holes through her tank top and jeans, and she hurriedly patted herself down.

Hall and Priskin also saw Parker turn to ash for the first time and immediately pulled out their handguns.

"This guy! What’s going on... how could..." Hall said nervously.

"Calm down... calm down, put down the gun," Lucina grabbed Hall’s wrist.

"So... are we joining a Spiritual Ability User club? This just got interesting, we never detected any spiritual energy on you, how did you do it?" Priskin said.

"I don’t know either, but that’s not important. As long as tomorrow’s plan succeeds, I’ll tell all of you what I really want to do," Chen Ke said.

"They won’t believe you," Diana smiled.

"Hehe, um... where are we in the plan?" Parker looked at Chen Ke.

"It’s about to start, as long as the infiltration plan succeeds. Rest well, you all, and don’t go wandering around," Chen Ke instructed.

And so, the group stayed at the Illusion Dream Center, which served like a hub for Chen Ke, bringing together people he met on his journey. They came, and they left; what the final outcome would be, Chen Ke didn’t know.

Lucina went downstairs a few minutes later and saw Chen Ke pacing the third-floor hallway, so she approached him.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Lucina gave Chen Ke a smack.

"Um... I’m, thinking about some issues," Chen Ke replied.

"About tomorrow’s thing?" Lucina smiled.

"No, I’m thinking about something Teacher Zhou told me about asking the female classmates downstairs not to party too hard tonight... I’ve been trying to figure out what that means," Chen Ke said.

"It sounds like this building is going to be filled with your tenants, mostly girls," Lucina crossed her arms and laughed.

"Are you upset?" Chen Ke asked.

"I am very upset, but what can I do?" Lucina shook her head.

"Don’t be like that," Chen Ke soothed, touching Lucina’s shoulder.

"Where’s Diana? I guess she would be the first female classmate," Lucina smiled.

"She’s in her room playing with fire, still getting used to the witch’s power which was originally meant for you," Chen Ke said.

"It’s fine, she earned it," Lucina said.

"I have another one, I can give it to you now," Chen Ke said, extending his hand palm up, a wisp of purple smoke swirled in his palm.

"This is...?" Lucina wondered.

"Illusion Creation Witch’s dust, she was the leader of Yasla, I killed her, you saw," Chen Ke said.

"Was she also a witch?" Lucina asked.

"Now you can be too," Chen Ke said.

"I’m not ready yet... Chen Ke, you said, after having this power, one is no longer human... right?" Lucina looked at Chen Ke, her eyes filled with fear and confusion towards the unknown.

"Yes, just like me, Diana, and Parker," Chen Ke said.

"I need time, being no longer human... it’s a choice that needs more careful consideration than marriage... and besides, purple doesn’t suit me," Lucina shook her head.

Chen Ke put away the dust, turned around, and said, "I respect your choice."

"Um... by the way, Chen Ke, are there any soundproof rooms available here...?" Lucina asked.

Chen Ke looked at Lucina, who flashed a mischievous smile.
