Chapter 517: Chapter 517: Old Enemies, New Friends

Chen Ke drove Lucina and Hall back home, then entered the Illusion Dream Center alone.

He wanted to use the Future Observation ability again to check on Diana’s future, hoping she was still alive! And Chen Ke hoped he could determine where she was being held based on the images seen through the Future Observation.

Chen Ke wasn’t 100% certain, but he was ninety percent sure that Yasla had kidnapped Diana. Otherwise, there was no explanation for the bomb in Lucina’s car.

He had no idea where exactly Yasla was located, or how many people were involved. It posed a very tricky situation.

Chen Ke knocked on Teacher Zhou’s door, but there was no response. It seemed the cooldown period had become longer after he had forcibly used his ability again last time.

Since the Illusion Dream Center had no concept of time, Chen Ke must return to the year 2009 to let time pass in order to recover his ability’s cooldown faster, but he was worried that Diana couldn’t wait.

Who knew what those freaks in Yasla would do to Diana.

"Hey, do you know where Yasla’s people usually hang out?" Chen Ke asked.

Slavin was now imprisoned by Chen Ke in the Illusion Dream Center, his life completely dependent on Chen Ke’s mood, which made him very meek.

"No one knows where they specifically hide, those freaks have a very strong sense of self-preservation," Slavin reported honestly.

"How do you usually contact them? Can you make a call or something to coax them out?" Chen Ke pondered, pinching his chin.

Now, he was strong enough to confront Yasla’s attacks without needing to rely on the watchdog’s major blackout for cover.

"We don’t use phones to communicate, and ever since the Holy Diamond was stolen, the relationship between the consortium and Yasla has deteriorated," Slavin said.

"Hmm... Seems like a fragile alliance. Looks like you can’t help me," Chen Ke shook his head, reaching into his inside jacket pocket.

Slavin’s body shuddered, tensing up as he involuntarily gripped his knees, wrinkling his pants.

Chen Ke pulled out his phone, flipped through his contacts, and dialed a number.

Slavin sighed in relief, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

The phone emitted a rapid series of beeps, and Chen Ke checked the screen; there was no signal in the Illusion Dream Center.

"Damn... I have to go outside to call. Tch..." Chen Ke cursed under his breath, planning to call Li Moyang to see if he had any connections.

He opened the door, and the outside was the first-floor hall of Li Moyang’s mansion. Chen Ke didn’t go directly to the second floor’s guest room. After all, Li Moyang was a heavyweight in the business world, and it was necessary to give him due respect.

"Make sure to put the books back when you’re done," Chen Ke pointed to a few books on the bed, reminding Slavin.

"Oh! All right, all right..." Slavin nodded vigorously, stacking the books together.

After closing the door, Chen Ke was already in Li Moyang’s manor, the ability to teleport instantly was incredibly convenient.

"Li Moyang... I need to discuss something with you," Chen Ke called Li Moyang from the first-floor hall.

"Oh, perfect, I have some new friends I want to introduce you to, let’s call them business partners. I have a plan... a long-term plan, and I was hoping you could join," Li Moyang said.

"I’m not very interested in your business, Li Moyang," Chen Ke said.

"You will be, I guarantee it. Let’s talk more when we meet. My guests are already here, how long will it take you to arrive?" Li Moyang said.

"Actually, I’m right beneath your house," Chen Ke said.

"Ah?" Li Moyang was startled, but Chen Ke had already hung up the phone.

He was too lazy to take the stairs, turned, and opened the door, which led to the second-floor guest room of the manor.

The guest room was bustling, as Li Moyang was talking quietly with two other people. When Chen Ke and the two guests looked each other in the eye, all parties seemed equally surprised and awkward.

The two were none other than Pankia and his daughter Sleery.

"You’ve arrived just in time. But I didn’t see you coming through the yard on the monitor, how did you do that?" Li Moyang stood up smiling, fetching a cup for Chen Ke.

"Pankia, is this the mysterious supporter you mentioned?" Pankia looked at Chen Ke and asked.

"That’s right, his name is..." Li Moyang poured a drink and handed it to Chen Ke.

"He has many names," Sleery chuckled.

Pankia, dressed in a dark red short-sleeved shirt and black suit pants, watched as Sleery, in a striking purple dress and long purple hair draped over her shoulders, leaned against the back of the sofa, her eyes constantly measuring Chen Ke.

"Do you know each other?" Spotting the meaning in the trio’s expressions, Li Moyang ventured.

"Pankia, it seems you don’t need to hide anymore." Chen Ke took Li Moyang’s wine glass, one hand in his pocket, and slowly walked into the house.

"After Corrigan died, the internal mess in Si’s consortium was enough to keep them busy," Pankia said.

"So... you and Li Moyang? What are you guys planning to do?" Chen Ke asked.

"Relax, Chen Ke. Pankia is the former chairman of Si’s consortium, no one knows the internal affairs better than him, and I also need his experience in the United Federation’s Spiritual Power Industry," Li Moyang explained.

"Chen Ke... long time no see," Sleery looked at Chen Ke.

"You left the hospital by yourself before I came back," Chen Ke said.

"I owe you an apology, but those two guys were really repulsive, and I wanted to find my dad quickly," Sleery explained.

"Are your wounds healed? Internal injuries don’t heal that quickly," Chen Ke inquired.

"Don’t underestimate me, Chen Ke. Do you want to test it yourself?" Sleery joked with a laugh.

"My estate is very big, if you guys want to catch up, after we finish discussing official matters, I have a very large room with great soundproofing," Li Moyang offered.

"Don’t even think about it, Chen Ke," Pankia said.

"I wasn’t planning to," Chen Ke replied.

"Alright, let’s discuss official matters, shall we? Mr. Pankia, I only briefly mentioned my plan earlier, but now, the thing you’re most worried about has someone capable of solving it. What do you think?" Li Moyang looked at Chen Ke and said to Pankia.

"Wait... Don’t make decisions for me. Whatever you guys are planning, I’m not joining," Chen Ke shook his head.

"Chen Ke, don’t be so quick to refuse," Sleery said.

Chen Ke downed his drink in one gulp and placed the glass on the mantelpiece, then leaned against the wall. "I came to ask for your help. That’s all."

"Oh, sure. What is it?" Li Moyang said.

"Can you help me find Yasla’s lair?" Chen Ke asked.

The room fell into silence.

"What do you want with them?" Pankia was the first to speak.

"They’ve crossed me," Chen Ke stated.

"What do you plan to do?" Li Moyang asked.

"It won’t be anything good," Chen Ke admitted.

"I can help you, but you have to join my plan," Li Moyang bargained.

"Without me, you wouldn’t have a chance to concoct your plan with Pankia. Don’t forget that," Chen Ke reminded.

Pankia looked at Li Moyang with confusion and asked, "How did you manage to escape the foundation’s manipulation?"

"You see, he killed that woman, and then I had the opportunity," Li Moyang didn’t deny it.

"You killed her?" Pankia, surprised, looked at Chen Ke.

"Yes, I’m certain," Chen Ke nodded.

"So..." Sleery didn’t understand what the conversation meant.

The room fell silent again.

"Tell me where Yasla is. That’s all I need," Chen Ke stated.

"You can’t find Yasla, and neither can Li Moyang, because their Illusion Technique is very powerful. Unless... you make them come to you," Pankia said.

"How can I make them come to me?" Chen Ke asked.

"The Holy Diamond is still with you, right?" Pankia queried in return.
