Chapter 509: Chapter 509 Anything...

"Yes, once you’ve grasped a few little tricks... Spiritual Energy powerful enough to destroy the human body can internalize as your strength," White said.

"If I’m not mistaken, you’re not from this era," Chen Ke felt there was an ulterior motive, after all, there was no reason for the other party to be so kind as to tell him all this.

"No no no, I’m not someone who ran over from the future, I am a genuine citizen of the United Federation," White said.

"Then you know a bit too much," Chen Ke said.

"When you’re in my position, it’s hard not to want to know," White said with a smile.

"You’re telling me all this without any reason?" Chen Ke asked.

"It’s just out of caution, I am with the Investigation Bureau. Slavin and Si’s consortium are necessary components in a certain enterprise of mine, and I cannot let you kill him," White said.

"That’s right! The Investigation Bureau will protect me, Lin Mo, you can’t kill me today," Slavin said, poking his head out from behind the sofa angrily.

Chen Ke aimed the gun at Slavin but kept his eyes on White.

"I’m not interested in your enterprise or your so-called professional abilities, in the end, you’re just protecting him," Chen Ke said.

"Mr. Lin, we had a brief scuffle just now, and I fully understand the ability of Blood Shot, wrapping one’s own blood around bullets to control their trajectory, that’s all there is to it. You won’t get the better of me in a fight," White said.

Blood Shot sounded like an Assassin’s profession that involved shooting, and if White was right that the ability was just using blood to control bullet paths, then indeed it wasn’t anything special.

But Chen Ke knew for a fact he was not a Blood Shot. Today was the first time he had heard of such a profession as "Skill."

"As compensation, I’ll give you an invitation. It will give you the opportunity to witness true extraordinariness, no matter where you come from or how you acquired your profession. After all, you’re a person with natural talent. This invitation will allow you to see things far beyond what the Administration Bureau can offer," White said.

"Not interested," Chen Ke shook his head.

He had already experienced the base reality, and compared to that, any organization in this world, whatever they aimed to do, was insignificant to the destiny Chen Ke carried.

"A stubborn Assassin... you’ll eventually die in some alley or foul ditch. Rather than that, I might as well teach you a lesson here," White said with disappointment.

"Yeah, after all that nonsense, you still want to fight!" Chen Ke snorted coldly, his body adorned with An Helei’s elegy, transforming into a black-clad Knight.

Seeing Chen Ke’s transformation, White also displayed his ability. He didn’t use any arcane skills but attempted to pull Chen Ke off the ground with several transparent giant hands.

Chen Ke gripped the Eclipse Hammer in both hands and swung it furiously at White’s head. The enormous stone hammerhead twinkled with a sinister purple glow, and the two eye sockets on the skull began to radiate light.

"Duang!"

The hammer struck a transparent barrier, making White’s eyes bulge as his knees buckled momentarily.

Chen Ke grinned, it seemed that although White’s ability could control invisible giant hands in mid-air and even block bullet damage, mind-affecting magic still had an effect on him.

Seeing White struggling against the hammer’s random negative emotions, Chen Ke certainly wouldn’t miss this chance. He channeled all his murderous intent into his body, simultaneously summoning the Ash of An Helei with his right hand and reaching for White’s face.

"What the fuck... all this weird shit..."

White hadn’t anticipated Chen Ke’s tricks; he always assumed Chen Ke would engage in mid-range combat with firearms, but to his surprise, Chen Ke was armored up and in his face for a brawl.

"Ahhhh!!!"

White screamed, more transparent giant hands appeared, grabbing Chen Ke’s waist, thighs, and shoulders, forcefully pulling him back; the hammer was securely ensnared by four hands.

Grinding his teeth, Chen Ke stretched his hand forward with fierce determination, An Helei’s Flame ignited all the combustibles in the room. Slavin, who was scorched, had his hair and suit catch fire and rolled on the ground, howling.

The transparent hands encompassing Chen Ke’s stretched-out right arm sought to isolate the high temperature, and as the hands turned slightly red, Chen Ke got a clear look at their appearance.

The transparent giant hands summoned by White had only four fingers, one thumb, three long fingers, and the joints were bidirectional, looking like limbs from some strange creature.

Chen Ke was now tightly enveloped by countless large hands; clearly, his assailants intended to crush him alive. However, An Helei’s armor had an attribute that made it indestructible, so alas, White was unable to succeed.

Chen Ke’s armor began glowing red; he was about to unleash the armor’s Flame Burst explosion. At such close proximity, even these large hands would presumably not be able to withstand the blast.

"Boom!"

A fiery tempest exploded before White’s eyes. Intense heat, accompanied by flames, pumped through the gaps between the hands, and in an instant, several were blown to pieces. White’s entire front was viciously licked by flames, his suit and flesh melted together.

"Puh! Ahhhhh!!" White, his face now beyond recognition, screamed in agony as he rolled on the ground. His burning, sticky flesh and skin adhered to the dry floor, and a button popped off his plump belly, scattering his steaming intestines across the ground.

"It seems even the professionals aren’t all that impressive," Chen Ke said.

"You’re crazy! You’re insane! You’re murdering everyone, and he’s the head of the United Federation’s Investigation Bureau!" Slavin trembled as he spoke.

Slavin was also severely burned, but he only sustained superficial skin injuries, with black scars forming on his nose and eyebrows.

"Your status and identity mean nothing to me," Chen Ke summoned back his hammer, and clad in black armor, he took deliberate steps toward Slavin.

"What do you want, huh? I can give you money... I can even arrange a seat for you within the consortium," Slavin pleaded as he sat on the ground, sliding backward continuously.

Chen Ke stepped on his chest, pinning him to the ground, while the Moonlight Sword in his hand pointed at Slavin’s right cheek, casting half of his face in a pallid light with its blue magic glow.

"Where’s the Holy Diamond?" Chen Ke asked.

"You... you just want this? I can give it to you, the consortium has many Holy Diamonds..." Slavin said.

"The green one!" Chen Ke pressed down harder, making Slavin spit out saliva, his eyes rolling back as he fainted.

"Stop pretending," Chen Ke grabbed Slavin by the neck, waking him with a scorching heat.

"Ahhhh!!! It’s burning!!! It’s bur...ugh!" Slavin screamed until a punch to his abdomen silenced him.

"The green Holy Diamond, you stole it from the courier; now give it to me," Chen Ke said.

"That... it wasn’t a Holy Diamond..." Slavin said in agony.

Chen Ke frowned, leaning in closer.

"Not a Holy Diamond? Then what is it?" Chen Ke asked.

"I can’t tell you... they’ll kill me..." Slavin said fearfully.

"I will kill you too, and I’ll be quicker than them," Chen Ke said.

"Don’t force me... Lin Mo, no, you’re not Lin Mo... You’re not him; I don’t recognize you," Slavin looked at Chen Ke, as if realizing something.

"Give it to me, I’ll take you to a place where no one can find you," Chen Ke said.

"I... I can’t give it to you... I had just gotten my hands on it when White showed up with the County Police and P.W.A.T., he got there before you," Slavin said.

"Dammit! Why didn’t you tell me sooner!" Chen Ke was enraged, and he turned to search White’s pockets.

"It’s not on him, he’s already sent it away by helicopter... not to the Investigation Bureau or Administration Bureau... Lin Mo, you’ve crossed someone you shouldn’t have, and your end will be worse than death," Slavin said.

"Tell me, what is that thing? The consortium, Yasla, and this White, why do so many people want it?" Chen Ke asked.

"It’s an opportunity, Lin Mo. It represents a chance, not just one but many. Whoever collects them could do anything. The consortium was collecting them for the company; they want to create gods. But Corrigan, after obtaining it, didn’t hand it over to the company. He wanted to collect them himself and make a wish for eternal life... I don’t know what White and Yasla intend to do, I just know that Corrigan’s death and Pankia’s failure have given White an opportunity," Slavin said nervously.

He recalled when he went to the Deep Anchor District port with the courier to seek news of Hainerd’s whereabouts, he had seen someone tortured by the consortium’s thugs in a house, saying the same thing— the company wanted to create gods.

But none of this concerned him; Chen Ke heard only the most crucial part.

"Once gathered, they can do anything...?" Chen Ke looked at Slavin, tilting his head.
