Chen Ke raced upwards through the dark hallway, clad only in his suit. If he had worn his black armor, his ascent would have been much slower.

Upon checking the signs on the wall, he realized that in just a few minutes, he had already climbed more than twenty floors. Since he ran all the way and never slowed down, this speed wasn’t too exaggerated.

The experience reminded Chen Ke of a painful past when he struggled to climb high floors on foot just after graduating from college and starting a new job at a company located on the 16th floor of a decrepit office building.

The office building was crappy mainly due to its subpar infrastructure: the toilets always had water outages, the flushes were weak, and the building’s only two elevators were constantly malfunctioning.

A huge golden flash accompanied by a blast wave flung Chen Ke into the wall. He bounced off it and tumbled down the staircase.

This was no ordinary bomb. Although Chen Ke didn’t know what attribute the bomb carried, it was definitely military-grade equipment!

"Target spotted, 30th floor emergency passage, induction mine exploded," voices came from above the staircase.

Over ten green laser aiming lines pierced the darkness of the stairwell, followed by the sound of heavy footsteps. Something seemed to have been thrown down from around the corner, clanging loudly upon hitting the ground.

A bang followed by a flash of white light reduced the surrounding sounds significantly.

"Commence search for the target... no heat signatures detected."

A squad started descending through the staircase, while Chen Ke lay in a corner, covered with debris from the crumbling walls.

They carried compact HK416 rifles, dressed in P.W.A.T gear—no wonder the fierce gunfight at the gun store had seen no intervention from the County Police, who were involved as well.

Chen Ke braced a shotgun in his left hand, resting it on his left shoulder, while his right hand fetched a USP pistol from the holster, aiming it at the entrance downstairs. As soon as that team ascended, he immediately fired, killing the two leading figures instantly.

The gunfire upstairs ceased, followed by another grenade tumbling down.

Chen Ke pocketed the pistol and immediately picked up the grenade, pausing its time, then tossed it back over his shoulder toward the stairwell entrance.

"F*ck! Grenade!" The people below erupted in chaos, mere ordinary assassins.

"Boom!"

The grenade exploded, sending something leg-like flying from the stairway entrance. Seeing the people below beginning to retreat, Chen Ke shifted his attention back to the P.W.A.T above.

Hearing the explosion, the audacious P.W.A.T forcefully attacked downward, over a dozen HK416s forming a Spiritual Energy firepower network before Chen Ke, a luminous screen unfolding. These people’s guns surprisingly lacked flash suppressors.

Chen Ke extended his hand, the time bomb exploded in front of him, and the world suddenly quieted down.

Bullets hung in mid-air, and several P.W.A.T members also paused mid-air; Chen Ke walked past them, drawing out the USP pistol and firing point-blank at their temples one by one.

He ascended to the 31st floor where the second P.W.A.T team was on standby in the corridor. Chen Ke released the time bomb’s hold, the earlier team’s heads blossoming, collapsing with a thud.

"Mr. White?" Slavin sounded anxious.

"He’s just an assassin after all! What kind of backing can he have? Plus, he’s right at the door, Mr. White! There’s still time to escape through the secret passage to the helipad on the roof!" Slavin fidgeted restlessly.

"No, I want to see him. If Si’s consortium’s assassins are all as formidable as him, you guys wouldn’t have been overrun," White said.

"You’re all mad!" Slavin sighed helplessly, looking up at the ceiling.

The gunfire ceased, quiet returned. Several in the office focused on the main door.

"Is he out there?" Slavin gripped the armrest of the sofa, nervously asking.

"Yes, he’s observing," White stood up, positioning himself directly opposite the door, his pupils also shimmering with blue light—Spiritual Vision in action.

Several bodyguards aimed at the door, ready to pull the triggers.

"Run for your lives, he only took 12 minutes to get from the 1st to the 32nd floor, taking down a group of gunmen and two P.W.A.T teams; you are no match," White chuckled.

"Mr. White..." Slavin started to say something when the door opened.
