It seemed that the impacts left in the world by those who transcended time wouldn’t fade due to a reversal in time; only those who hadn’t travelled through time could be affected.

Chen Ke moved to another seat, unwilling to listen to their job worries any longer. He picked up his burger, unwrapped the pale blue packaging, and checked what was sandwiched between the two slices of bread.

The United Federation’s burgers were really damn big—Chen Ke’s casual choice of meal included fried chicken, cheese slices, and vegetables coated in white sauce. He took a bite; the taste was decent.

The accompanying large soda and large fries were the quintessential junk food duo, which paired with the heavy, greasy burger, promised a signature United Federation’s belly after twenty years of such meals.

Chen Ke hadn’t eaten in a long time. Since time traveling to this side, where he could go without food or drink and still have endless energy, he could count his meals on one hand. Plus, being constantly on the run had deterred him from spending time on eating.

"Finish off Lin Yaying... then go for a good meal..." Chen Ke planned.

For starters, killing her in this world wouldn’t solve any problems as, similar to Xu Jing, death merely meant being deported back to 2137. If Chen Ke targeted her, without guaranteeing a definitive end, it would just be alerting her unnecessarily.

Furthermore, the pivot point of temporal stasis was in 2137, and both Lin Yaying and Xu Jing came from there. He was curious about what the current state of 2137 was. Perhaps, he could extract some information using certain means.

This kind of time travel was not exactly free, nor could it compare to the methods of Xu Jing and others.

Since Xu Jing could take Chen Ke to the year 1859, perhaps Lin Yaying might also have a way to take him to the year 2137.
