Chapter 351: Chapter 351 Deathmatch

Corrigan looked up at Chen Ke and said slowly, "Do you believe in destiny?"

"Is this destiny something you’ve arranged?" Chen Ke retorted.

"No, I don’t care about your destiny; I only care about my own," Corrigan shook his head, smiling.

"The countdown in my mind... what is that... can you take it out?" Chen Ke asked.

Corrigan stopped, as if pondering something, then looked at Chen Ke.

"In your mind?" he suddenly asked.

"Wasn’t it you who put it there?" Chen Ke counter-asked.

"Of course... of course, it was I who put it there... Are you getting used to it?" Corrigan smiled.

"I don’t know what will happen when the countdown reaches zero, but as long as I keep killing, I can survive, a perfect assassin control system... That’s like a meme, isn’t it?" Chen Ke said gravely.

"Constant killing leads to constant survival? Sounds pretty good..." Corrigan muttered to himself.

"Is that what you wanted to say, Corrigan?" Chen Ke was somewhat annoyed.

"You should be thankful for the countdown in your mind. It’s what’s kept you alive until now," said Corrigan.

Chen Ke seemed to understand something... This Corrigan probably didn’t know what the countdown in his mind was; he was just trying to trick him into explaining...

"But now, I will take it back..." Corrigan.

"+1000 hours"

"+1000 hours"

"+1000 hours"

"+1000 hours"

...

A massive killing intent surged toward Chen Ke, and he felt a dangerous current rushing at his back. Without looking, he rolled to the side,

He had just jumped away when a blue soul gun exploded in the spot he had been, popping and bursting into white light, along with the scent of burning plastic.

He turned his head to look at Corrigan, who was now floating in the air.

"You know everything I have, and what I have, you know nothing about." Corrigan floated above, looking down at Chen Ke.

This Corrigan had mastered the power of Spiritual Energy, and his skills were much more abundant than Chen Ke’s; moreover, he was able to hurl his soul gun at the enemy from behind with just his thoughts, not even requiring the same actions.

But Spiritual Ability Users aren’t monsters; ordinary bullets can still harm them. Chen Ke decisively pulled the trigger at Corrigan, who floated in the air, and the casings clattered on the ground.

"All I want is eternal life... why must everyone stop me." With a whoosh, Corrigan performed instant teleportation, then danced his arms, and six soul guns flew towards Chen Ke.

Chen Ke leaped backward, dodging the attack of three soul guns. Instantly, Black Knight armor covered his body, while the other three soul guns hit his chest and abdomen.

A scorched smell wafted from below his visor, and sharp crystals were blocked by the armor, but the magic power of the soul guns penetrated the armor, tearing apart his organs and muscles. Chen Ke lay on the ground, coughing up a mouthful of blood.

To Chen Ke, Magic Power felt somewhat similar to a different kind of Flame, also with a burning sensation, but even more painful than being scorched by fire.

Watching Chen Ke slowly get up, Corrigan was puzzled.

"Why can you still stand? Is it the power of that countdown too?" said Corrigan.

"Parker!" Chen Ke bellowed.

He straightened his right arm, igniting An Helei’s Witch Fire. Grey-black ashes swirled up from the ground and passed through Chen Ke’s right hand.

The remaining fire ignited the ashes, and fierce flames erupted. The originally grey-black tornado of ashes transformed into a fiery storm of blazing inferno.

Parker charged directly at Corrigan, latching onto his body.

"Ah! Ahhhhh!!!" In the midst of the firestorm, Corrigan howled, becoming a little fireman.

"Burn him alive, Parker!" Chen Ke looked up at Corrigan in the air.

After a dozen or so seconds, Corrigan’s voice disappeared. The sky filled with gradually cooling and dying ashes, which softly descended from the air, gathering to reform Parker.

"Damn! Chen Ke, that was really intense!" Parker laughed.

Chen Ke noticed his shirt had turned red.

"Is it over?" Parker asked.

Chen Ke looked around. No longer could he see any human outlines; it seemed Corrigan had been burnt alive.

"It should be over, let’s go find Wang Ai..." Chen Ke was mid-sentence when he suddenly felt pierced from below by over a dozen sharp spikes.

Excruciating pain radiated from every part of his body as he groaned. He saw his chest, abdomen, thighs, and arms impaled, and then he was lifted into the air upon these spikes.

Parker, sensing the arrival of the spikes, had timely transformed into ashes and swirled in mid-air.

Chen Ke turned his head to look down; the ground below was pitch black, as if covered in a layer of black mud that obscured all light.

At that moment, a black-mud sculpture of a human head surged from the ground. It was massive, with Chen Ke being the size of merely its nose.

"Lin Mo, you’ve used some power... but I have some too. This is the power of gods!" Corrigan’s voice became muddled and slurred. On the forehead of the black mud head, glowed a blue luminous point.

"I’ve seen gods... they are nothing like you..." Chen Ke strained to free himself from the spikes.

Parker also flew over to help, but as ashes, he lacked the mass and strength to lift Chen Ke, and couldn’t reach him when reverting to human form.

"You haven’t seen enough gods!" Corrigan shouted.

The spikes impaling Chen Ke shifted, tearing through his abdominal muscles and spilling his intestines. Then another spike pierced in through his spine and exited from his upper abdomen, carrying a piece of flesh with it.

"Ugh... Ah... Damn!" Chen Ke clenched his teeth and gripped the spikes, attempting to snap them off.

"This is, the fear of death, Lin Mo; this is what I’ve fought against for over a hundred years... Death is an insult to life! I will conquer it; I desire immortality!" Corrigan gritted his teeth.

"You are no longer human... Corrigan!" Chen Ke said and snapped his fingers at his back.

Boom!

A strong thrust from behind propelled him forward, freeing Chen Ke’s body from the spikes. He slammed hard into the ceiling and then spun around, launching a massive soul gun at Corrigan’s gigantic head.

A hundred hours of power!

As soon as the soul gun left Chen Ke’s hand, it grew to the thickness of three pillars in the hall bound together and slammed right into Corrigan’s face with a swish.

Boom!

Cracks appeared on Corrigan’s black visage, and a piece fell off at the blue luminous spot on his forehead, revealing the small stone embedded there.

Chen Ke fell to the ground, and three more spikes grew from the black mud surface. They pierced through the inside of his thigh and exited through his chest cavity, collarbone, and back, pinning him in place.

"You cannot defeat me! I won’t compromise with death!" Corrigan roared. Thirty-two soul guns appeared in mid-air and flew towards Chen Ke.
