Chapter 759: Chapter 622: You and I Have Never Escaped the Web of Fate_2

Such efficiency, what a waste amounts to nothing.

As Amberser said, devils and demons are not worth mourning; no matter how valuable their corpses, they are merely resources to be utilized.

The Death Knights were created; next required is the infusion of suitable souls.

And to this end, the God of Alchemy had already formulated a plan.

Now being a deity, Amberser possesses the ability to lend out power, his Legendary Grace could also be "borrowed" for others to use.

This is the difference between a deity and a mortal.

Amberser can endow this Alchemy Factory with the power to create Pseudo-Souls. With automatic use of materials for synthesis, as long as the souls are standard-issue, the factory can produce the fitting "souls" en masse.

Amberser conducted an experiment for comparison. He personally inserted souls into half of the Death Knights, while the Alchemy Factory installed them into the other half.

Then he deduced comparative results: there was virtually no difference between the two.

Meaning the Alchemy Factory could indeed mass-produce souls perfectly, the only drawback being the consumption exceeding tenfold.

But this was hardly a drawback.

At the control panel, Amberser casually selected a few basic units, Plague Zombies, Death Knights, various forms of Skull Cannon Fodder... a whole array of standard Undead troop types were set, and then he commanded the devils to stuff materials into it as they please.

Full automation was in place, and the Undead created were branded with Amberser’s mark. They would automatically convene on his command, making transport of the finished goods unnecessary.

Thus, Amberser’s Undead Factory could continuously generate an Undead Troop within a short time frame. Factoring in the cannon fodder transformed by Withered Rose, Amberser estimated that it was about time for a counterattack.

There is no reason to wait passively for the demon invasion; devils can also take the initiative to strike, can’t they?

Previously, it was Hell’s laws that restrained actions, using Blood River Fortress to fend off the demon invasion. Since demons could not be entirely eradicated, there was no point in counterattacking, and Zariel was known for her passive negligence, allowing the situation to deteriorate.

Not anymore—Amberser now ruled the Blood River Front.

Taking charge with a zealous initiative, it was nearly too chaotic to burn anything in the first layer of hell, Amberser naturally sought a target ripe for action.

Demons made an excellent choice. They came knocking, and Amberser was ready to ensure their performance had a perfect finale.

However, Bayer could not venture into The Abyss. The entity was bound too firmly to Blood River Fortress. Leaving familiar battlegrounds, Bayer’s leadership in battle would halve.

Bayer himself was also an unstable factor. Who knew what sort of mischief he might find in The Abyss.

Thus, it was better to keep Bayer under close surveillance. As for the commander of the counteroffensive... Ange Watson had the talents; his command abilities were without doubt, merely lacking experience—he required someone to assist as an advisory counsellor.

Amberser thought for a while, finally recalling someone he had overlooked.

Taking out the Magic Mirror, Amberser located Parurier, who had run off somewhere.

"Hey, where did you run off to? Did you know I’m now the master of Avernus?" Amberser asked.

Across the Magic Mirror, Parurier seemed to stand at the precipice of an erupting volcano, watching the boiling magma.

But with numerous volcanoes in Hell, without careful search even Amberser might struggle to determine the devil’s whereabouts.

Parurier frowned and said, "What’s this, news? The whole of Hell knows that."

"I could squash you with a flick of my fingers now, you know that?" Amberser said.

Speaking of which, the two were longstanding enemies, harbouring deep-seated resentment. Parurier, previously arrogant for her deity status, had been quite rude in her speech. Now it was time to let her know who was the boss.

However, Parurier, perfectly indifferent, replied, "Stop bothering me, I’m reflecting."

Amberser, puzzled, questioned, "What’s so interesting about a volcanic eruption that you haven’t tired of it? Isn’t this a common sight across every layer of Hell? Innumerable eruptions every day—what’s there for a devil to admire?"

Parurier responded, "I’m not watching the volcano. I’m thinking—If I jump in, would I die?"

Amberser couldn’t help but exclaim, "Have you flipped or something? Even a volcanic blast wouldn’t kill you."

Devils naturally exhibit strong resistance to flames, not to mention a succubus of a deity’s caliber like Parurier, who would probably find a dip in the lava insufficiently scalding.

"Right, I won’t die. But why am I thinking this. Why am I contemplating whether jumping into the magma would kill me? If I’m naturally immune to lava, why would I even entertain the idea of suicide by magma? It’s like humans; they don’t choose to bathe themselves to death—they don’t entertain such thoughts because they know bathing won’t kill them!"

Amberser was befuddled, what madness was this demon up to now?

Prepared to cut off such meaningless ruminations, Parurier scooped a handful of scorching magma, murmuring to herself. "Arthas, do you think, could it be because I was once human, a mere mortal, hence in my consciousness, magma equates to fatal scalding. So even though I’ve now become a deity, immune to the heat of magma, my inner self remains merely human."

Amberser asked, doubtfully, "Are you suggesting my essence remains that of a mere mortal?"

"Who cares about you?" Parurier retorted with disdain, tossing aside the magma in hand, impatiently saying, "Ever since my parents sold me into slavery, I ceased to care for anyone. I only care about myself."
