Chapter 760: Chapter 622: You and I Have Never Escaped the Web of Fate_3
Amberser almost laughed in frustration at the woman’s insanity and retorted, "Funny enough, I don’t care about whatever craziness you’re spouting either. So, come back to me."
Amberser had already located Parurier’s position, reached out, and traversed through the void, snatching the madwoman back.
Though Parurier tried to resist, how could she defy the Power of the entire world and was directly pulled back into the grand library by Amberser.
Amberser didn’t care to ponder about her life perspectives, and bluntly said, "I want to launch a counterattack into The Abyss, to extend the Blood River Battlefield to the other half. I already have a Commander in mind. You will serve as his adviser. Any problems with that?"
Parurier frowned and said, "What are you talking about? You’ve always told me about ending the Blood Battle, but now you’re expanding the battlefield. Do you even know what you’re doing?"
Amberser hesitated for a moment, instinctively wanting to explain that plans cannot keep up with changes.
Who would have thought that Hell Law would favor him so much, making him the master of Hell itself? He was previously disengaged, messing around, but now that Hell was his home, his stance naturally changed.
These words Amberser could have smoothly spoken out, but for some reason, he couldn’t utter a single word at this time.
Parurier’s words were like a sharp sword that pierced through his Soul once again.
"The reason you wanted to end the Blood Battle was that Bayer told you that going into battle was your predetermined Destiny, an unavoidable responsibility for you as a sinner. At that time, you reacted impulsively, desperate not to enter the battlefield and even to end the war. Now, you’re the most proactive one.
"Arthas, you are still tightly controlled by destiny; you’ve never broken free."
This time, Amberser didn’t retort because he too had thought of this.
He had come full circle, only to find himself still caught in the web of Destiny.
Even though he had become the Archduke of the Devils and a true Deity, had he still not escaped the net woven by Destiny Weaving?
If that were the case, who could transcend Destiny?
Perhaps dethrone Aeo and become the God Above Gods himself?
Amberser couldn’t help but recall Parurier’s nonsensical rant from earlier.
Because she was once human, the idea that lava could kill and jumping into it meant suicide stuck with her, even after she became a Goddess.
And when Amberser was still a mortal, the brand of Destiny was deeply imprinted on him; he always knew that Destiny was inescapable. So, even after becoming a Deity, was he truly not free of Destiny’s control?
If that was truly the case, even if he became God Above Gods Aio, he wouldn’t be able to untie this knot.
However, Amberser hadn’t fallen into despair when he vaguely felt something was amiss.
This seemingly profound statement had a crucial element hidden behind its words and logic, waiting for Amberser to grasp it.
It was like a key that could unlock a door named freedom.
"No, that’s not right... it shouldn’t be this way..."
Amberser felt he was on the verge of grasping the key, but he couldn’t draw a conclusion. He sensed he had discovered something, yet it was elusive, like smoke and mirrors, unattainable.
Parurier laughed heartily, interrupting his thoughts, "Stop struggling; you’ll never have a chance to break free. I’m different from you. I chose to become a Diviner Mage. I willingly embraced Destiny."
Amberser’s train of thought was broken by her laughter, and he sighed, "It’s like the proverbial besieged city; those inside want out, while those outside want in. Have it your way."
Though Parurier had interrupted his thought process, Amberser didn’t pay it too much attention.
Because he knew that behind Destiny, there was something he could grasp. Although he wasn’t clear about what he had just thought of, he was certain there was still a chance to understand this issue.
A momentary confusion wouldn’t cause Amberser to lose his fighting spirit. After being swept aside by the Goddess of Fate’s broom for hundreds of years, his resolve was steadier than ever. Besides, what did it matter if his spirit did break? He’d still have to live on.
In the blink of an eye, Amberser had already cast aside the annoyance, and with a flick of his finger, sent Parurier, who was still boasting, flying away.
"To think you want to be a Diviner Mage, you’re not even an apprentice, a worthless nobody who can’t even get started. Don’t talk to me about Destiny. You’re set to be my adviser, and the counterattack on The Abyss starts tomorrow!
"I’ll prepare a million strong Undead Army for you. Go and kill a million Demons for me and claim your credit. If you fail, you can forget about ever having a lesson from Harvey in this lifetime."
Parurier, clutching her swollen head, conceded that winning or losing was one thing, but the gap in Power was truly vast, so wide that she didn’t even have a chance to defend herself.
"Cut it out; I’ve already learned most of it. William Harvy hasn’t read that many books either. His theories are just starting, and I’ve already mastered most of them. I can learn the rest on my own."
Parurier didn’t think much of young Harvey. Although he was leading on the path of Destiny, he couldn’t be compared to Amberser in eloquence. Harvey understood many things himself but found it hard to impart that knowledge to others.
After attending a few classes, Parurier felt she had emptied Harvey of his knowledge, and since this teacher had nothing left to offer, there was no point in wasting time.
However, Amberser told Parurier, "I forgot to tell you, Harvey has already ascended to Legendary."
Parurier’s eyes widened in shock, "Impossible, he was just an apprentice two years ago!"
Amberser chuckled and said, "What’s impossible about that? That’s the interesting thing about Destiny! Work hard, Parurier. If you don’t put in the effort, the son of the Goddess will never teach you."
Grinding her teeth, Parurier spat out, "Damn you, Arthas, you were born a Devil!"
