Chapter 725: Chapter 610 Inside and Outside Coordination_2
Amberser had supplied a massive amount of magic power to this spell, further strengthening its force.
Storms, acid rain, thunder, earthquakes, fires, and even meteors... These natural disasters repeatedly unfolded, crazily consuming the Dwarf Kingdom’s reserved magic power.
Above the Royal Palace, a scene of impending doom was evident, even the Dwarf King hiding in its deepest depths could feel it.
When it was reported that a massive army of devils suddenly appeared attacking the Royal Palace, the Dwarf King was only slightly startled before he sighed in relief.
He had thought it was the new king, chosen by the Dwarves’ Gods, coming to slay his way in. As long as it wasn’t him, anything else was manageable. Although he didn’t know where this group of devils came from, he wasn’t worried about a devilish siege, as he had guards to protect him and thus, felt no concern.
After Amberser had dealt with him previously, the Dwarf King had been very worried, even once weeping bitterly as he prayed to the Gods, hoping the Dwarven Gods would understand his plight.
At that time, the Dwarf Kingdom was on the verge of collapse; if he remained feeble and delirious, the Dwarf Kingdom would surely disintegrate. However, the Gods did not respond to his prayers.
The Dwarf King couldn’t help feeling angry; he was doing everything for this kingdom, why should he be abandoned?
He knew such thoughts were blasphemous, but just as a man cannot control his heart, he couldn’t control his anger towards the Gods. And the Dwarf King also knew the Gods understood this blasphemy, which is why he was constantly worried that some Dwarf gleaming with divine light would appear, lifting a blessed hammer to smash his skull.
These days of fear were too hard to endure, especially since vampires don’t need to sleep, and time seemed to move even slower.
The Dwarf King tried issuing orders to look for Dwarves within the kingdom who suddenly showed strange talents, claiming it was time the kingdom reclaimed its lost lands and needed more talented individuals to help. But in truth, he wanted to find those suspected Godfavored and kill them in their infancy.
Doing so might infuriate the Dwarven Gods and bring a harsher punishment, but the Dwarf King could think of no other solution.
Since he was doomed to Hell anyway, why not drag more people down with him?
Perhaps seizing that Godfavored would prove his capability, maybe there was still a tiny chance for him to survive?
Unfortunately, time was too short.
In just a few days, there was no time to find any Dwarf suspected of being Godfavored.
Now with the battle raging outside, the Dwarf King thought for a moment and decided to step out of the palace.
It was night, he could move freely; perhaps, showing bravery on the battlefield might make the Gods reconsider?
Regardless, the Dwarf King could only clutch at any straw for salvation; he had to try everything.
Ignoring the guards’ attempts to stop him, the Dwarf King, escorted by his trusted aides, left the palace and looked up to see the terrifying sky. Dense lightning fell like raindrops, continuously striking the kingdom’s magic protection shield.
The Dwarf King was also shocked, wondering who could cast such a fearsome spell?
Letting a Legendary Mage freely cast Ninth Circle Spells? Were those guarding the Royal Palace complete idiots?
In reality, the guards of the Royal Palace weren’t fools. A Legendary Rank Dwarf Warrior had already jumped down from the city walls, rushing with his elite forces towards Amberser.
Revenge Storm required continuous casting; they could not let this heavily-armored, peculiar Mage continue, they had to interrupt his actions.
This warrior was confident; allowing him close enough, a brutish throw of the hammer entwined with numerous lightnings could repel him or even kill him outright, naturally stopping the spell.
However, Ange Watson had already noticed his intention.
In fact, Amberser’s Revenge Storm was designed to lure the strong from within the city to strike, depleting the city’s Magic Array of magic power was secondary.
Now that the strong had emerged, it was time for the devils to make their move.
The Nightmare Knight charged forward, colliding with the troops of this Dwarf Warrior.
This Dwarf Warrior was indeed fierce; with a throw of his hammer wrapped in numerous lightnings, he smashed the head of a Nightmare, the momentum unrelenting as it knocked over several more Nightmare Knights before returning to his hand.
Ange Watson shouted, "He’s an Arcane Knight, his Legendary Ability is related to that hammer!"
A characteristic of an Arcane Knight was the ability to bind with their weapon, whether thrown or disarmed forcefully, the weapon would inevitably fly back to their hands. This hammer was clearly his bound weapon, carrying a force he could not contend with.
But Ange Watson was just a Commander; naturally, there were stronger figures to deal with the situation.
Among the suicidal Paladins from Hell, were there not Legends too?
A tall Nightmare Knight charged out, brandishing a spear. From its tip burst forth surging flames, enveloping the Arcane Knight.
The collision of two Legends forced others to back away from the shockwave.
Ange Watson, well-prepared, directed the Nightmare Knights to divide the Dwarves’ troops, gradually weakening their power.
Though the Nightmare Knights were at a numerical disadvantage, and even as the clash between the strong was evenly matched, other Nightmare Knights quickly started to suffer casualties.
Seeing themselves gaining the upper hand, the Dwarves became even fiercer, determined to crush these devils in one fell swoop.
However, before the Arcane Warrior could release all his power, the protective shield above the Dwarf Palace suddenly developed numerous cracks.
