Chapter 711: Chapter 605 Goblin’s Suggestion

The God of Alchemy felt guilty toward Amberser, his chief disciple.

Although the God of Alchemy had been helping Amberser since their reunion, in terms of alchemy, Amberser not only gained no advantage but rather let the deity reap the most significant benefits.

To this day, Amberser was merely a decent alchemist, having nothing to do with the Legendary Realm.

This was also related to Amberser’s pragmatism; he didn’t care about whether it involved alchemy or not. He crammed all kinds of mixed technologies into his work, mostly imitating other people’s original creations. There were some improvements, but nothing truly revolutionary.

As the Concept God of Alchemy, the deity could not show favoritism. He could only provide Amberser with some inspiration, but he couldn’t directly advance him into the Legendary Realm, as that would go against his divine duties.

"Flint, do you remember what you were best at making?" asked the God of Alchemy.

Gustavo Flint paused and then responded, "Alchemy tools."

"Right, that integrated automatic chicken frying pot you made when you were an Alchemy Apprentice, I still remember it vividly. It was truly an ingenious concept."

While most people knew Gustavo Flint for creating unparalleled enchanted equipment and considered him a top-notch master alchemist, few knew that his rise to legendary status was actually due to improving a set of alchemy tools that he developed himself.

Compared to those powerful enchanted equipment, Gustavo Flint actually preferred designing more novel, useful alchemical instruments, more precise measuring tools, simpler and more effective mixing devices, safer and more efficient centrifuges, and so on.

However, over the years, Gustavo Flynn had almost forgotten about this, only sketching some designs during his leisure time and not spending time on what he truly loved for many years.

Now, hearing the God of Alchemy mention it, Gustavo Flint realized that this deity had indeed been watching over him all along.

"But, did I really go wrong?" Gustavo Flint couldn’t help but ask defensively, "If I hadn’t done this, the Alchemist Association would have ceased to exist long ago!"

The God of Alchemy smiled and said, "What does it really matter whether the Alchemist Association exists or not?"

Gustavo Flint showed a bitter smile and shook his head, "I am not a deity. I don’t have such broad views. This has been my life’s work; I can’t simply let it go."

The God of Alchemy shook his head and said, "You still don’t understand. This issue isn’t about right or wrong, nor about taking sides. What I am telling you is the reality, like the final result of an alchemy experiment. Whether you believe in me, the Lord of the Dawn, or even the devil of Hell, it won’t affect the fundamental laws of alchemy.

"Just as water flows downhill and the sun shines, it is irrelevant to opinions and right or wrong, as well as to so-called efforts. I am here to remind you of a fact, that knowledge of alchemy cannot remain suppressed forever. Alchemists in pursuit of truth cannot forever be caged. Flint, you need to first accept this reality, then you will understand what you must do."

Gustavo Flint frowned and said, "What exactly do you want me to do? Dissolve the Alchemist Association?"

While his attitude was not exactly humble, the God of Alchemy knew Gustavo Flint had already conceded.

He had no cards left to play. From the moment the God of Alchemy appeared, Gustavo Flint knew he had lost. How could a mortal compete against a deity?

If only he weren’t so foolish to never fully understand the Lich’s capabilities.

"The Alchemist Association isn’t important. What is essential is your knowledge. Flint, if you are willing to let go of what is before you, you will naturally find your own path. I am merely here to remind you, like an experiment that has concluded, the facts cannot be changed. The choices you now have are to accept the results, start anew, or abandon this failed experiment. I trust you will be able to reason this out."

This was the last opportunity the God of Alchemy offered to Gustavo Flint. If he could relinquish power and status and become a simple alchemist once more, then the God of Alchemy might even reserve a place for him in the Divine Realm.

However, if Gustavo Flint remained stubbornly unyielding, the God of Alchemy could only watch him perish.

When the God of Alchemy disappeared from the Magic Mirror, Gustavo Flint clenched his fists tightly. He knew he had been cornered.

He knew the right choice was to walk away now and to leave unharmed, losing only his wealth and power. But when it came time to make that decision, Gustavo Flint found it incredibly difficult. He had come from nothing and had become a person of great consequence in the Kingdom. To give up now meant that most of his efforts were in vain.

Who could easily throw away hundreds of years of their life?

Distraught, Gustavo Flint walked out of the Alchemist Association building and into the vastness of the night.

Although it was already late at night, the Dwarf Kingdom was still brightly lit, not at all resembling a kingdom that had lost much of its territory, but rather like a vibrant new dynasty.

Especially since the Laine Empire had just sent a letter of surrender, admitting their fault and agreeing to pay reparations, which only fueled the revelry in the Dwarf Kingdom, making it appear even more bustling and prosperous.
