Chapter 695: Chapter 598: Reputation Crisis
The so-called Three-in-One Goddess doesn’t mean taking Aige, Katherine, and Laila, grinding them up, and molding them into a new person.
Rather, it’s like the three Goddesses lending out their Deity Positions, granting others the authority to use them.
Once the three Deity Positions merge, they form a new entity.
The Elf Tribe has performed such an operation, where after the fusion of the three Goddesses, a new Three-in-One Goddess was formed, becoming the new consort of Corellon.
However, many consider Corellon’s actions to be scandalous because one of these Three-in-One Goddesses happens to be his daughter.
Amberser’s initial reaction was to assume that the old rascal Corellon wanted another concubine, but then he suddenly remembered that Laila had already joined Sylvanas. Sylvanas, the usually nonpartisan Father of the Oak, had rarely accepted a Lesser God as a follower and wouldn’t allow Corellon to entice her away.
Thus, it’s likely that the Three-in-One Goddess is merely a symbol of an alliance.
But why involve Aige?
"What’s the reason?" Amberser curiously asked.
Aige shook her head and said, "I’m not entirely sure either, but Katherine’s view is that if our three Deity Positions were to merge, we might be able to achieve promotion in a short period of time."
Amberser felt that he had truly encountered a "knowledge blind spot" this time. Katherine was the Racial God of the Drow Elves, Laila held a weakened version of the Dark Clergy, and even with the addition of the Shadow Druid’s faith, it was only Weak Divine Power. Aige’s free Deity Position seemed more encompassing and held a brighter future.
But what could result from mixing these three Deity Positions?
That was high-end knowledge Amberser genuinely didn’t understand.
"After the three Deity Positions merge, will there be any special effects?" Amberser asked.
Aige shook her head again: "I don’t know, Katherine didn’t go into too much detail. She only said this was the will of the Elven God-King and assured me it wouldn’t harm me in any way."
Amberser pondered for a moment and then said, "Katherine isn’t the type to hide things. If she’s not being clear, it’s probably because even she doesn’t understand fully. But I can guess something—the reason Corellon is probably not only trying to make Katherine the Racial God of the Drow Elves but also likely entrusted her with additional Deity Positions. That’s why you and Laila are needed.
"But I can’t understand why Corellon is in such a hurry to enhance Katherine’s Divine Power. The Elven Gods are powerful; could anyone truly threaten Katherine?"
Such matters were likely beyond even Ogma’s knowledge, so Amberser decided not to waste his brain cells on it.
Aige then asked, "What do you think about this?"
Amberser shook his head and said, "I’m not in a position to make that decision; it’s your future. I can only give you some advice. First, the Elf Tribe has a relatively good reputation—they usually won’t fool you or set any traps."
The powerful and wealthy Elf Tribe valued their reputation more, for a good name could bring greater benefits to the Elf Tribe, and those sinister methods were beneath them.
Good-aligned factions are like that; you can cooperate with them with confidence.
Aige also understood it was a matter concerning her own future, but unfortunately, she didn’t know many Deities. Although she had sought help from the Guild Leader, Yeg, his response was much like Amberser’s.
The Elf Tribe’s likelihood of deception was slim, so this collaboration wouldn’t harm Aige; whether to accept or not was up to her.
After thinking it over for a long time, Aige nodded and said, "Then I agree, I need allies."
Amberser didn’t voice any opinion nor remind Aige that she could negotiate for more benefits from the Elf Tribe. Once Aige achieved Deification, everything she faced would have to be dealt with by herself, beyond the meddling of a mortal like Amberser.
The amount of benefit and the scale would have to be gauged by her so that she wouldn’t have regrets later.
Her judgment wasn’t flawed; the Elf Tribe was indeed a very good ally, and perhaps Corellon could help find what Aige needed.
The Dragon Race was willing to wager a perfect Resurrection Scroll; the Elf Tribe wouldn’t be much less capable. Perhaps they had something similar, and then Aige could directly resurrect her father.
But Amberser couldn’t just stand aside and do nothing; it seemed time to meet with Katherine face-to-face and perhaps obtain more related information from her.
The Elf Tribe was a close partner of Amberser’s—it was vital that nothing went wrong.
Amberser then suggested, "How about this—let Laila take the lead, and we’ll meet in the Connected Dream Realm to discuss this Three-in-One Goddess matter. The meeting should happen as soon as possible, before you and Katherine achieve Deification."
Aige nodded, indicating she would go to the Emerald Dream Forest herself, to communicate with the future unified Goddess.
After discussing this matter, Amberser suddenly remembered something and asked with puzzlement, "This isn’t something to hide, so why can’t you tell Rose?"
Upon hearing Amberser’s question, Aige smiled and said, "Because there’s another matter I want to discuss with you. You and Rose have confirmed your relationship, haven’t you?"
Amberser was slightly embarrassed, but his thick skin helped him recover quickly, and he nodded, saying, "It just happened naturally."
With a sigh, Aige then said, "That’s also a good thing for Rose; otherwise, she would have vanished when the Ryan Royalty disappeared. However, your healing of her hasn’t been going smoothly, has it?"
