Chapter 666: Chapter 582: Evil Silver Gradient_2

With the cage shielding him from the oppressive might of the Evil Silver Gradient, Amberser finally breathed a sigh of relief and quickly asked, "How could one directly become a deity? Isn’t it too simple for a deity? Doesn’t it require Aeo’s permission?"

"Some planes have that rule," the God of Alchemy replied. "It’s designed to prevent deities from bullying mortals. But this fellow is within my Divine Realm, so long as I don’t let him out, Aeo generally won’t interfere.

"Just like how Talos could easily turn a Lich into a deity back then, except from that moment on, Vishalon became his vassal and he was imprisoned in the Tower of Ruins to be enslaved. This guy is almost the same. I may have given him too much divine power which allowed him to break through the mortal limit.

"But no worries, as long as he doesn’t leave the Divine Realm, he won’t pose any threat."

Amberser was not as calm as the God of Alchemy and couldn’t help asking, "What if he escapes?"

"That would be bad," said the God of Alchemy. "Not only would he be immediately punished by Aeo, but I would also be implicated. It might just take a single thunderbolt to reduce me to a mortal."

"This is your Divine Realm; he shouldn’t be able to escape, right?" Amberser asked.

Amberser had never considered killing the Evil Silver Gradient, as it was the first complete life form he had created. He did have some sentimental feelings toward it. Moreover, for this experiment, the God of Alchemy had consumed too many resources and divine power. Destroying this prototype would be a massive loss.

Moreover, it wasn’t just a significant loss; it could cause the God of Alchemy’s divine power to regress, and who knew how many years it would take to accumulate enough power to break through again.

"Don’t worry, there’s no issue with that. I had to remodel my Divine Realm to avoid Rose’s revenge. Without my permission, there’s no chance he can escape, unless his power grows strong enough to kill me."

Amberser quickly said, "Knock on wood, don’t say such unlucky things!"

"Haha, you clearly want to break free from the shackles of fate and yet are afraid of this. Don’t worry, I am not manipulated by the Goddess of Fate. If things really go south, I’ll just revoke my blessing and turn him back into a mere object."

Seeing the confident demeanor of the God of Alchemy brought Amberser some comfort.

The logic indeed was sound. Within the Divine Realm, the deity was supreme. Even someone as powerful as Talos would not mess with another’s Divine Realm because it was simply not possible to win.

The Evil Silver Gradient was blessed by the God of Alchemy and born as a "deity," possessing only the power level of a deity and not a genuine deity position recognized by Aeo. This type of deity could be revoked at any time.

"Since that’s the case, let’s continue with the plan as originally planned."

The Evil Silver Gradient was initially just a "prototype"; after testing, a series of degenerations were needed before it could truly be scaled up.

Since safety was assured, the experiment could continue.

The God of Alchemy brought out a pile of enchanted equipment for the Evil Silver Gradient to devour. Although this fellow had seemingly became a deity overnight upon awakening, he still appeared clueless and ignorant as before.

In front of Amberser, he remained highly submissive, and had an excellent appetite, accepting any enchanted equipment offered to him.

First, Amberser let this creature swallow some Demolishing Magic Equipment from the Elf Tribe. As expected, the moment it digested the equipment, Elf Tribe’s specific Demolition Runes appeared briefly on the body of the Evil Silver Gradient, disappearing quickly but reappearing whenever the Evil Silver Gradient recalled them.

Casually creating a spiked projection, this spike carried the Magic-Breaking Effect and was even stronger than the original. After all, now the Evil Silver Gradient could wield the power of a deity, naturally making its effect better than mere mortal Magic Equipment.

Then, other Magic Equipment followed, whether they were damage-inflicting enchantments or various Spell effects, consuming them allowed the Evil Silver Gradient to quickly master them.

However, its appetite was not infinite; after doubling in size, the creature finally couldn’t eat anymore.

"I’m full, so tired, great Bone God, I want to sleep," pleaded the Evil Silver Gradient.

Amberser could only comfort him, "Sleep well, rest well."

Turning, he took the experimental report to discuss it with the God of Alchemy. Now, it could essentially be confirmed that the experiment had achieved its expected goals perfectly. The Evil Silver Gradient’s ability to devour magic was unimaginably powerful, and both its magic and physical resistances were frighteningly high. Continuing to consume and accumulate might eventually make him invulnerable even to deities.

The experiment now needed to move to the next phase, attempting to reproduce the Evil Silver Gradient to see if its offspring would experience any degeneration in abilities.

If a clear decline was confirmed, after a few generations of breeding, it might be possible to try introducing them to the Prime Material Plane.

Amberser looked at the Evil Silver Gradient locked in the cage, now muttering in his sleep post-evolution. Could this creature really help resolve the issues in the God of Alchemy’s promotion? What if the children born didn’t regress in anything but their intellect?

Amberser’s worry was not unfounded; it seemed most powerful life forms had offspring that weakened rapidly.

The Dragon Race was the best example; pure-blooded dragons reproduced painfully slowly, and it took an unfathomable amount of effort and time to hatch and raise a dragon. The Dragon Race could be considered among the most pampered of races.

Otherwise, the Overseas Dragon Clan wouldn’t be mixing poorly and growing weaker.

The Dragon Race also liked to interbreed with other races, and during these times, breeding wasn’t difficult. All hybrid races involving Dragons seemed to grow like they were on steroids, not only physically robust but also especially easy to develop.
