Chapter 1450: Chapter 1450: Hope It Won’t Be Like This

Very quickly, Luo Ziling confirmed that Yang Qingyin wasn’t joking.

"You really want to get involved?"

"Of course," Yang Qingyin nodded solemnly. "I want to keep a close eye on you."

Luo Ziling couldn’t help but smile awkwardly but still patiently explained: "I’m planning to hand this matter over to Yuqing. I’m honestly not very interested in getting involved in this kind of thing, and I’m also aware that the entertainment industry is a messy place. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up getting tainted."

"If that’s the case, then why are you letting Luo Yuqing take charge of this?"

Luo Ziling had already told Yang Qingyin about the results of the paternity test. After the results came out, Yang Qingyin learned that Luo Yuqing and Luo Ziling were related by blood.

As a result, she no longer saw Luo Yuqing as a rival and had crossed her off the list of "love competitors."

"As long as she doesn’t willingly fall, she won’t be tainted," Luo Ziling chuckled and said, "I also know she wants to prove herself and achieve something. My mom didn’t object to her involvement, so I’m funding this, and she’ll manage it."

"Can you tell me more detail about this?"

Luo Ziling nodded and provided an overview of the situation.

"I understand now. I really can’t get involved in this," Yang Qingyin remarked after hearing Luo Ziling’s explanation, understanding the significance of the matter. "The cooperation between the Fang Family, your Luo Family, and the Ouyang Family... If I, a Yang Family daughter, get involved, it indeed wouldn’t be appropriate."

"I know, this collaboration represents the partnership between our Luo Family and the Fang Family, which is why I didn’t reject Fang Dongxun outright," Luo Ziling chuckled lightly. "My initial funds were placed with Ouyang Feifei by my mom for Lingyun Pharmaceutical’s preset donation, and they’ve already grown more than double. I don’t have other money, so I have to get funds from her. When she learned about this, she also decided to step in."

Yang Qingyin stayed silent for quite a while. She eventually spoke softly, "It seems your mom intends to let Ouyang Feifei keep meddling in your daily life, even entrusting her to manage your money."

Luo Ziling found himself at a loss for words. He understood the underlying meaning of Yang Qingyin’s words. After thinking for a moment, he feebly explained, "My mom just acknowledges her investment capabilities, nothing more."

"If one day your mom insists that you marry Ouyang Feifei, what will you do?" Yang Qingyin asked seriously.

Luo Ziling didn’t answer her question; instead, he asked back, "When I want to get married, would you be willing to marry me?"

"Hmph, as if I’d marry you!" Yang Qingyin puckered her lips.

"I want to marry you, but you don’t want to marry me. What should I do, then?"

"Figure it out yourself," Yang Qingyin replied proudly, raising her chin high. Then, she quickly added a reminder, "But I won’t allow you to marry anyone else."

"You’re so domineering," Luo Ziling pinched Yang Qingyin’s nose. "How can you be like this?"

"That’s just how I am. No matter what, you’re not allowed to marry another woman."

Seeing Yang Qingyin pout, Luo Ziling suddenly felt playful. Curiously, he asked, "What would you do if I did marry someone else?"

"Oh, so you really want to marry someone else, huh?" Yang Qingyin pounced on Luo Ziling, delivering a flurry of "kicks and punches." "You awful junior, always full of wandering thoughts!"

Luo Ziling grabbed Yang Qingyin’s wrist and laughed. "It was just a hypothetical scenario. I wanted to know how you’d react."

Yang Qingyin stopped struggling and gently leaned on Luo Ziling’s shoulder. "If you marry someone else, I’ll just stay far, far away."

After a pause, she added, "In that case, I’d probably hate you for the rest of my life and never want to see you again."

"Then just marry me and save yourself all that trouble."

"Maybe I’ll marry you one day, but not now. I’m not ready."

"How can you be like this?"

"That’s just how I am. What can you do about it?"

"One day, I’ll come and take you as The Lady in Charge of Suppressing Bandits."

"Then come and take me," Yang Qingyin giggled.

"What if your family insists you marry someone else? What would you do?"

When Luo Ziling asked her the same question, Yang Qingyin froze for a moment and then replied indignantly, "If it’s someone I like, then I’d marry them."

"What if it’s someone you don’t like?"

"I’ll decide based on the situation. If I’m really mad at you at the time, then maybe I’ll marry them," Yang Qingyin said, giggling again. "Alright, no more of these boring hypotheticals. Tell me everything that’s happened these days since we’ve been apart, okay?"

Luo Ziling shared the events he thought were suitable for Yang Qingyin to know, including the recent incident involving Ling Haijun.

"It seems the ones most eager to destroy your family really are the Ling Family," Yang Qingyin remarked after hearing him out, her face displaying anger. "So how do you plan to deal with this situation afterwards?"

"What exactly do you mean?"

"I mean, what’s the plan for handling relations with Ling Zhengping, Ling Zhenghui, and their sons?"

"That should be up to my mom," Luo Ziling said with a bitter smile. "My mom probably hasn’t decided to completely break ties with them yet."

"So she’s using the situation to bargain for benefits?"

Luo Ziling nodded, but then he shook his head. "I think this incident has made it clear to everyone that some of the Ling Family members are already in a life-and-death stance against us. Surprisingly, it’s not the Yang Family or Chen Family members but the Ling Family members who are the most aggressive against us."

"Not necessarily," Yang Qingyin shook her head. "Others might just need one chance to strike and take you down—it’s only because nothing has happened so far."

Luo Ziling looked surprised. "Did you hear something from your dad?"

"No," Yang Qingyin shook her head. "He wouldn’t talk to me about this. But I think when he comes back, last time when Yang Yunzhong got hurt, he won’t just let it go. Currently, I suspect he’s strategizing something, which means you have to be cautious. Even though you weren’t behind it, he’ll likely blame the incident on you. Plus, in the future, others might stir up trouble, pin it on you, and use it to initiate an even bigger conflict."

"I’ve already considered that. I’ve got countermeasures," Luo Ziling chuckled lightly. "I’ll take the initiative until no one dares mess with us again."

Yang Qingyin silently stared at Luo Ziling for a long moment before she finally sighed and shifted topics. "My dad will definitely meet my grandfather for discussions tomorrow. How about I take you to see my grandfather the day after tomorrow? What do you think?"

"Sure," Luo Ziling didn’t refuse, but he reminded Yang Qingyin, "After what happened with Yang Yunzhong getting hurt, your grandfather might see me differently. He could potentially list me as an unwelcome figure."

"Let’s hope that doesn’t happen," Yang Qingyin said with a long sigh.
