Chapter 941: 485 Chapter National State_2

They required so much, aimed so completely, that the Law itself had flaws, and could not become a universal law.

In other words, the laws of the Rome Sear Empire had already reached the level of universal law.

But their ambitions were too great, foolishly trying to use one universal law to unify the entire heretic civilization zone, even the Magic Black Forest nations. That was why a universal law had not emerged.

However, if they had discarded the unnecessary parts and kept the essence, it would have been a universal law.

Although Ivita had never fought against universal law, God Charlemagne as an Emperor with mighty divine power, did not dare to fight against the shattered Empire’s universal law, which indicates the strength of universal law.

Ivita used spatial magic to leave the country without attracting the attention of the heretics’ laws, and as soon as he left Raven Kingdom, he began to move wildly through the wilderness between the laws of various great kingdoms. Three hours later, he returned to Alsace.

Upon entering Alsace, Ivita had fewer concerns. His mastery of Fire Dragon Law deepened continuously, now using spatial magic at will without being obstructed.

He entered the Royal Capital, briefly addressed the ministers of various major departments, and then headed to Yodo City located in the west.

At this moment, the vanguard of the Frankish cavalry had already appeared near Yodo City.

The Frankish soldiers burst into the rural areas near Yodo City, looting and pillaging. To the soldiers of this era, their pay might not sufficiently reward their hard work, so plundering from enemies, allies, and even their own people’s villages and cities was regarded as a privilege to compensate them.

Outside a rural church, five mounted Frankish soldiers were indeed planning to burn the church and kill the priest and the women, children, and elderly hiding inside.

The five Frankish soldiers exchanged a glance, then burst into laughter.

Burning people alive in the church actually did them no good. The meager wealth of the village had already been looted by them and stashed in the bags on their horses.

But killing these people satisfied some indescribable thrill for these five soldiers. Such acts, absolutely forbidden in peacetime and would result in disgrace, but now during wartime, allowed them to indulge.

In the army, there were indeed military discipline departments. The Frankish army was known for its strictness. If this was peacetime, such acts would lead to their expulsion from the army and lifelong surveillance. However, in wartime, the acts they committed against the people of enemy nations were ignored by the officers.

One of the Frankish cavalryman excitedly threw a fire starter into the pile of dry wood outside the church. Even the officers, who normally appeared decent, might do such a thing in this era.

After all, countless beautiful women—who seemed as cheap as dirt—could only be encountered during wartime.

Even those officers, faced with such situations, could not walk away.

Inside the church, the women, children, and elderly scared by the raging flames started screaming in despair and panic. The church was a sacred place, where even if a condemned criminal took refuge, the militia could not enter to capture them under normal circumstances.

So when they encountered the Frankish cavalry pillaging the village, they immediately chose to run into the church, but they didn’t realize that once the rules were broken, the crazed Frankish cavalry no longer respected any faith.

They were intent on burning them alive inside the church.

The village women felt, as never before, that war was not just related to men, but also to them. Some village women wanted to rush out of the church, armed with agricultural tools and stools, to desperately fight against the five Frankish cavalry outside; however, more were frozen in place by fear, not daring to go out.

Just then, one of the Frankish cavalrymen suddenly pointed to Ivita approaching from a distance and said, "Is that an Alsasian? How did you miss a small one, who will go and chop off his head?"

Another Frankish cavalryman whistled nonchalantly, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Ivita was one of their own kind, "Let’s bet, who ever kills the young Alsasian first wins. I want that bottle of wine you’ve been hiding."

The face of that Frankish soldier changed. "That wine is expensive. How could it be wagered on the life of a mere Alsasian..."

After hearing this, Ivita smiled, and instantly, the flames outside the church extinguished. "Gentlemen, I have encountered many enemies, all of whom wanted to kill me for profit. But you five, because I am Alsasian, you want to kill me,"

"This truly is strange."

"If you five would care to explain, I might allow you an easy death."

The five cavalrymen, seeing the flames outside the church quench, were all shocked, instantly realizing that Ivita was no ordinary man.

He was a wizard.

Yet, they couldn’t gauge what level of wizard Ivita was, but seeing his young appearance, they couldn’t help but underestimate him.

The leading Frankish cavalryman rudely said to Ivita, "What’s there to be confused about? We Franks killing you Alsasians is all too fitting."

"We aim not only to kill, but to torture."

"You Alsasian dogs, your hands are stained with so much Frankish blood! Everybody, he’s just a wizard apprentice, let’s attack him from five directions, we’re not afraid of his magic."
