Chapter 387: Chapter 239 Voodoo Zombie, Cursed Gold, and Terrible Downcasting_2

"I want to conduct an experiment." Ivita raised her sword and slashed at the black fog that passed in front of her. At that moment, she felt a violent vibration from the sword in her hand, as if it too was eager to shatter the black fog.

The black fog where the sword passed through was completely shattered by the sword, all the resentful spirits within it gone. Sunlight reflected off the sword, forcing the surrounding black fog to retreat automatically.

Seeing this scene, Ivita realized her guess was correct. This sword could shatter the resentful spirits and the channel their collective power had formed.

Ivita threw the defense magic necklace of the Rose Fairy to the Hearthstone Witch. Immediately, the black fog gathered towards her, but under the reflected light from the holy sword Sword Shadow of Tormund, it all retreated again.

"This sword can indeed ward off the Attraction Technique," Ivita said.

"Hearthstone Witch, watch over them."

"I’ll go after the people who stole the gold and find the person in charge of this port."

"Okay, all right!" replied the Hearthstone Witch.

Ivita heard the booming cannon fire from the port. Lahaina Town had already started to fight back, with numerous cannons at the edge of the harbor firing towards the ship at sea.

Vampire Wilson saw Ivita going after the gold thieves, and immediately followed up. "Sir," he said to Ivita, "I’m immortal and I’m not afraid of the Attraction Technique. I’ll help you with mental coercion."

He immediately grabbed a person fleeing nearby and used mental coercion on him. "Have you seen a group of people with carts?"

Ivita parried the black fog flying towards Vampire Wilson with Tormund’s sword.

The two of them waded against the tide of fleeing people at the port, moving through the black fog and looking for Asmoday’s gold.

Meanwhile, Ivita saw sailors from the Black Friday wearing tricorne hats. Each of them fearlessly attacked anyone they saw as if they weren’t afraid of dying.

The port had summoned the patrol guard.

Among the patrol guards were professional knights specially trained by the Republic, including the Great Knights, official knights, and knight attendants.

But the fearless pirates from Black Friday fought with such ferocity that they willingly had their chests stabbed by the knight swords to attack the Knight Guards, causing the port’s regular knight guards to fall into a disadvantage.

Ivita realized that the sailors on the Black Friday were made up of Superior Knights, Great Knights, official knights, and knight attendants. They were fearless and didn’t act like living people at all.

Vampire Wilson once again hypnotized a fleeing merchant but didn’t get the result he wanted. He turned to Ivita and said, "These must be the legendary voodoo zombies."

"They’re manipulated by the Attraction Technique. Although they’re still living beings, their bodies are like they’re hibernating, with their minds blank and manipulated by people."

"They’re not undead, so they can’t be dealt with like undead. They’re not afraid of the church, holy water, or the sacred number 4."

"They’re not afraid of cats."

"But they fight fearlessly like the undead."

Ivita swung her holy sword continuously, cutting off the black fog flying towards them. "Cats?"

"Yes," Vampire Wilson said. "It is said that cats are the guardians of various afterlife worlds, so the undead are afraid of cats. The cry of a cat can send the undead into the afterlife world, preventing them from staying in the mortal world."

He grabbed another fleeing female merchant and controlled her roughly, forcing her to look into his eyes.

"I ask you, have you seen a group of people pushing small carts nearby? On the cart is a sack, and it seems like there is something quite heavy in the sack."

Losing herself, the female merchant then said, "I did. When I was running over here earlier, I saw those people you’re talking about hiding on the roof of a house at the end of the alley ahead. It seemed like they were having a dispute. I saw them throwing bodies off the roof."

Ivita raised an eyebrow. They’re hiding on the roof, huh.

They sure know how to hide.

Ivita immediately headed in the direction she pointed, and Wilson quickly followed.

When they passed through the crowd and arrived at the place the female merchant mentioned, they really saw a line of cloth shoes on the roof at the end of the street, indicating that a group of people was hiding there.

They were hiding in the indent of the roof.

Ivita called up to them, "Come down!"

There was no response from above.

Ivita sneered. "Still pretending? If you don’t come down now, I’ll flip you and the roof over together."

Suddenly angered, a hundred hands of magic power intertwined into a large arm due to the gravity manipulation, with the enormous war of Ambros as the source of magic, the arm underwent a transformation.

Initially just a naked arm, it now looked not only muscular but also covered in crude armor.

The arm smashed into the roof nearby, creating a hole in it.

Immediately, the five men hiding on the roof were scared out of their wits.

"Wait, we’re coming down, just wait, we’re coming down now."

"Don’t hit us, we’ll come down right now."

Five creepy-looking men climbed down from the roof one by one, looking fearfully at Ivita.

"We don’t even know you, why are you attacking us..."

Ivita snorted coldly and didn’t bother arguing with them. She used the hand of magic as gravity to draw down the sack of gold from the roof.

A sack of gold fell to the ground, and the faces of the five sailors turned green.
