Chapter 562: Volume 14: Accumulating Profoundly and Striking Decisively Chapter 6: Deliberately Letting Loose to Capture Later

At this point, the dragon lady finally managed to calm down. She had realized that the man opposite her was not as simple as she had imagined. He knew the weaknesses of the Dragon Clan and was even able to seal her mana. This baffled her greatly, as there seemed to be no one in the long history of the Dragon Clan who could seal their mana—not even when she was injured and took on a human form, it was scarcely conceivable that anyone could do it. Sealing mana was not something that could be achieved simply by a mage’s strong magic power or profound spells. And yet, the reality before her proved otherwise, causing the dragon lady’s arrogance to shrink considerably. At the very least, the young man before her eyes was not as simple as she had thought.
Taking a deep breath, the dragon lady’s gaze became clear and limpid, and even the tone of her speech was unusually calm, "Mortals, what do you want? State your intentions."
Komer was quite satisfied with how quickly the naked woman before him calmed down. The wisdom of the Dragon Clan was no less than that of the Human Clan, which was evident in this situation. A dragon not yet of age was able to calmly deal with the crisis she faced, at least proving that she was worth keeping around.
"Ice Dragon, it appears we can finally have a calm discussion. That’s good, at least we can both share our thoughts and intentions in a rather rational manner, don’t you think?" Komer nodded, flashing a brilliant smile, but to the dragon lady, his friendly demeanor sent uninvited shivers down her spine. Her intuition told her that the more amiable a mortal appeared, the more it heralded a scheme.
Watching him warily with widened eyes, the dragon lady’s tone remained unchanged: "Stop with the pointless chatter. Since you have brought me here and managed to magically restrain my Dragon Magic Power, I must admit you have the capital to speak with me. But if you think you can do whatever you wish, you’re mistaken. I must remind you, I can fulfill any not overly excessive requests, but remember, do not overstep!"
Seeing her still trying to uphold the supposed dignity of her kind in such a situation amused Komer. These dragons really thought of their race as inviolable and aloof. They failed to consider that if the dragons truly possessed such formidable power, why were they then becoming increasingly scarce on the Continent and forced to settle in remote areas? The Human Clan were the true masters of the Continent, a fact the dragons seemed unwilling to ever admit.
"Very well, Ice Dragon, I feel it necessary to introduce myself first and then inform you of your current predicament. After that, you can consider for yourself, how about that?" Komer said with a slight smile, "I am Baron Komer, the Lord of the Caucasus. This place is the Caucasus, and you should be aware that it lies to the east of the Great Swamp Area and north of the Cordillera Wilderness. As for you, you should recognize your situation. You were gravely injured in the attack by the Jellyfish People’s Twin Sages of Wisdom, and with the Dragon Saliva Fragrance affecting you, had I not brought you back from River Heart State, by now the Jellyfish People might have used your dragon skin to stretch their drums, and your Dragon Crystal might already be auctioned on the magic materials market in Prague."
Even with mental preparation, the dragon lady was still stunned by his somewhat harsh words. Dragon skin and Dragon Crystal, these were things mortals always coveted from every member of the Dragon Clan. He was not wrong; the Jellyfish People had become her sworn enemies, and her escape to River Heart State was a frantic choice for hiding when she could not control her senses. Little did she expect to wind up in this man’s hands. At least he was right about one thing: he had not taken advantage of her.
"Mortal, I don’t know what you truly want. Your mortal thoughts are too complex, and I do not wish to comprehend them. I only want to ask, what do you want right now? What do you want me to do?" the dragon lady asked, struggling to suppress her emotions.
"Nothing really, I never had any intentions of doing anything. To be honest, I myself am not sure how to deal with you. If I let you go, even if I lift the seal off your Dragon Magic Power, chances are you won’t have managed to leave the Caucasus before being discovered. Adventurers and exploration teams are everywhere here. For a dragon like you, who can’t mask your presence, you’re too conspicuous. If so, you would bring chaos to my territory. Moreover, the Jellyfish People are also looking for you everywhere, and it would be difficult for you to leave safely."
Komer spoke with a mix of sincerity and deceit. It was true he hadn’t decided how to deal with her, and that many adventurers and exploration teams were indeed everywhere. As for the Jellyfish People, they currently lacked the strength to monitor changes in the Caucasus. A dragon in human form, they could never detect.
"Do you mean that if I decide to leave, you wouldn’t restrict my freedom? And you could also lift my seal?" she questioned hesitantly, finding it hard to believe that he would be so friendly as to let her leave so freely.
"Yes, but on the condition that you do not cause chaos in my territory, under any circumstances. It’s best if you could leave immediately—perhaps to the Cordillera Wilderness or the Baden Gold Mountain Range, your old home," Komer replied with clear resolve.
The dragon lady was quite surprised by Komer’s candid and generous response. However, thinking about how her dragon power had already been reduced to its lowest point since she had taken human form, and realizing it would take years to recover completely, she pondered her predicament. Although a few years meant little to the lengthy lifespan of dragons, how she would survive these years in a foreign and hostile environment, especially with her lack of experience in the outside world, had not crossed her mind. Merely removing her seal would allow her to regain access to her Dragon Magic Power, but with her source of Dragon Power greatly damaged, her mana could, at best, perform at fifty or sixty percent. Contemplating survival in unfamiliar and hostile surroundings for several years left the dragon lady uncertain.
The wisdom and intuition of her kind suggested to the dragon lady that perhaps the man did not really want her to leave. She suspected he displayed this attitude deliberately, yet she had no better place to go, "Um, Komer, if I choose not to leave and stay here, how do you plan to deal with me?"

"You want to stay?" Komer felt a surge of joy within him, yet his face showed nothing but confusion and surprise, "I agreed to let you go. You could return to your old home or to the Nether Sea. There are even others of your kind there—Wicked Dragon lives there. Why would you consider staying?"
Wicked Dragon? The thought stirred something in the Dragon Lady’s heart. Unlike the Turtle Dragon or Earthwalking Dragon and reptiles of their ilk, Wicked Dragon was a powerhouse among the Dragon Clan. However, this fellow was known for its temperamental and unyielding nature. Even the king of the Dragon Clan—the Thunder Dragon—preferred not to provoke it without good reason. Generally, dragons lived solitary lives or in pairs, rarely interacting or establishing relationships with each other. But should one dragon intrude upon the territory of another without cause, war was inevitable.
"Komer, you need not waste your words. I simply ask you, if I choose to stay, how would you have me arranged?" the Dragon Lady asked impatiently.
"Arrange for you? I’m sorry, but Caucasus does not harbor any freeloaders. Here in Caucasus, everyone must work and toil. He who does not toil, shall not eat. That is a principle here, and I don’t think you’re quite suited to stay with us." Shaking his head, Komer made his unwelcoming stance clear.
"Damn you! What do you mean, I’m not welcome?" The Dragon Lady was genuinely enraged. She had never experienced such humiliation. A member of the noble Dragon Clan reduced to living off charity—it was an affront of the highest order.
"Calm down. The vast expanses of the Nether Sea or the Baden Gold Mountain Range are the places where your Dragon Clan can fly free. Caucasus is a human settlement. Don’t you feel out of place here? What can you do? What are you capable of? How will you earn a living? Everyone must abide by the laws; these are simple realities. Now that you’ve taken human form, others will see you as a human. If you loiter all day, living off others, what will people think?" Komer advised her patiently.
"You!" Choked with rage, the Dragon Lady was at a loss for words. What Komer said was logical; she had taken human form because her powers were significantly weakened. Being sent to the Nether Sea or the Baden Gold Mountain Range, regions rife with Magical Beasts, posed a dire threat. The ignorant beasts wouldn’t care if she belonged to the grand Dragon Clan; they would attack anyone who trespassed into their territory. "Are you implying that I’m utterly useless in the Caucasus?"
"Then tell me, what can you do in the Caucasus?" Komer retorted irritably. He felt more and more as if they were two quarreling partners, teasing and mocking each other.
Her eyes darting, the Dragon Lady seemed to recall something, "I heard that mages like you are quite popular among humans. Though the origin of my Dragon Power is damaged, my Dragon Magic Power can still be used as usual. If only you could lift my seal, I could become a mage. Don’t you need mages?"
"Of course, I need mages, but what can you do besides Dragon Breath Magic? Aside from the Dragon Clan, no other race knows this magic. Once you unleash your Dragon Magic Power, anyone will know who you are. Aren’t you just announcing to the world that you are from the Dragon Clan? I fear the Jellyfish People will swarm over immediately!"
"I also know Ice Elemental Magic..." the Dragon Lady argued heatedly.
"The problem is that you must invoke your Dragon Magic Power to cast spells, can that be changed? Anyone who knows magic should realize that the origin of magic power defines a mage’s identity. Can you disguise that?" Komer challenged, his eyes rolling.
"What should I do then?" The Dragon Lady was genuinely flustered now.
