Chapter 511: Volume 12: Blazing Demonic Flames Chapter 2: Fierce Battles Abound
```
At that moment, the two Puppet Skeletons that Komer had painstakingly crafted and nurtured were shattered by the opponent’s two unparalleled Sword Qi, not even a trace of the soul remnants attached to their forms were left untouched. Besides the unavailing wails that still echoed in Komer’s ears, there was no other residue.
The overwhelming strike from a practitioner of High Level Martial Arts was not something Komer’s newly trained Puppet Skeletons could endure. Although he poured considerable effort into these two creations and even consciously cleansed them with Holy Light from Light Magic to empower them with a force to counter Light Magic, he did not anticipate that their first encounter would be with a physical attack from a martial arts expert.
In this regard, Komer evidently did not provide enough training for them; even if he had the intention to rigorously train them, it would have been difficult for them to develop the strength to resist such Fighting Qi in a short time. Other than disintegrating into debris amidst the Sword Qi, they had no other fate.
Komer was in such pain that his heart felt like it was splitting apart—these were prime specimens he had selected from countless skeletons and into which he had poured much of his own blood, sweat, and tears, only to be reduced to ash by the assault of those two Sword Qi.
Although their emergence successfully shielded him and the Female Priest standing behind him from this catastrophe, it still left Komer seething with indescribable rage. He sought revenge!
He vowed to make those two damned souls pay with their lives to pay tribute to his beloved Skeleton pets!
The two Scythes of Death, wielded by the trained Puppet Skeletons, might have exploded and scattered under the unstoppable Fighting Qi, but the Necro Aura they unleashed did not vanish accordingly.
This dark weapon, forged from countless skeletal bones and imbued with inherent sinister malice, had been further refined and solidified by Komer with repeated use of Dark Magic. In fact, it had become a considerably formidable Undead Weapon.
Even a mere brush with it could drain the vitality from Mortals due to the Undead Magic energy within, making these now substantial weapons rank among the elite in the realm of Magic weapons. However, these were not weapons that living beings could wield—they could only exhibit their full potency when held in the hands of the Undead.
As the Puppet Skeletons vanished, the Scythes of Death inflicted tremendous damage on the two Assassins, carrying the intense Necro Aura into their bodies. Despite being wrapped in swirling Fighting Qi, this deadly energy from the depths of the Underground could not be entirely dispelled by Fighting Qi. The Necro Aura—charged with slaughter, destruction, and a chilling coldness—penetrated their defenses and infiltrated their bodies. Though the majority of the Necro Aura was neutralized, even the smallest remnant was enough to condemn both attackers to hell.
The bodies of the two Assassins underwent a grotesque transformation midair; it was as if the Necro Aura had sapped their lifeforce, leaving their eyes dull and lifeless, and their bodies rigid in an instant. Their gleaming Stilettos lost their luster abruptly, and their agile forms fell straight down from the sky, stirring up nothing more than a cloud of dust upon hitting the ground, leaving no lingering effects.
The turning tide of battle did not signify an improvement for the others; it was clear that Bayezid had expended too much energy in that frenzied axe attack. A fatal blow came at a cost.
His Phantom Blue Magic Axe, hailed as one of the Dwarf Clan’s divine weapons, contained a special Ice Magic seal—believed to be the Magic Crystal of a berserk Ice Dragon from the ancient oceans, forged into the axe. The wielder, drawing on their formidable physical strength, could unleash the sealed Magic, and the released Ice Magic power was enough to freeze anyone into a block of ice.
To unleash the Magic within the axe, Bayezid had put his all into the first strike, and the resulting drain left him vulnerable to the second Assassin’s thrust. The sharp toothed Stiletto tore through Bayezid’s buffalo hide armor, and even Komer’s enhanced defense spell could only slightly mitigate the damage from the piercing blow. The Stiletto slashed across Bayezid’s twisting torso, creating a deep gash from which blood spurted, glinting with a rainbow-like scarlet hue under the evening sun’s waning light.
Fortunately, the Female Priest hidden behind Komer could finally exert her power, and her unceasing chanting managed to rescue Bayezid from his weakened state while also stemming the flow of blood, barely enabling him to cope with the crazed Assassin leaping about him.
Grace finally clashed with her match, and their equally swift and sharp Stilettos collided countless times in the span of a blink, sparks flying erratically. The harsh clangor of metal on metal, the flurry of blades and fists—the two figures intertwined midair in uncompromising combat, both ending with injuries.
Grace, panting heavily, somersaulted gracefully down from the air, her chest armor heaving. A deep sword mark was now visible on her breastplate, and through it, one could faintly see the bright red Brassiere beneath.
```
The enemy was extraordinarily powerful; from the glimpse of cold, ruthless eyes visible beneath the mask, it was clear that this was a professional assassin. The gleaming narrow blade was a lethal weapon purchased for murder, and no matter how much Grace tried to break through and inflict damage, the assassin always found a counter to her attacks. Grace, of course, would not trade her life for the enemy’s.
Exposing her brassiere did not come without a price, Grace’s fierce thrust aimed at the groin took a large chunk of flesh from the thigh of the inquisitive assassin. However, a mage, hidden behind the enemy, was just a moment away from healing the wound quickly. There was a powerful mage casting spells to facilitate the healing, and the assassin’s combat effectiveness was not diminished much; instead, the enemy became even more frenzied, rolling and stabbing in the air. The stiletto flickered with dots of cold light, tightly entangling Grace.
Havier’s wind magic came into excellent play at this time. Facing two assassins who attacked in tandem, he might not have matched their fighting Qi, but he was always able to avoid the head-on collisions with the agility provided by his wind magic. Amidst the shrieking Qi, his long sword danced in the air, creating thousands of sword Qi waves. The massive blast of fighting Qi made Havier’s knight armor rattle loudly, and the beautiful metal adornments trembled crisply and pleasantly in the Qi wind.
At this time, the one who stood out was surely Giant Brianos. His huge iron staff whipped up layers of dark clouds in the air, and the piercing shrieks were the result of the strong wind generated by the staff clashing with two oncoming waves of fighting Qi, creating a massive racket. At that moment, even the air around seemed to be sucked dry by the staff, becoming somewhat oppressive and suffocating as hot and cold airstreams collided and struck each other in the confined space.
The two assassins circling Brianos spun like tops, and the cold lights they scattered were rendered intangible in front of Brianos’s uncompromising staff. The fierce wind generated by the staff firmly suppressed the Qi unleashed with all the strength of the two assassins; their red fighting Qi was even squeezed and pushed back by the layers of dark light from the staff.
Komer knew that the situation was not as optimistic as it seemed. His group was entirely exposed to the enemy; it was clear that the enemy had more than the forces they were currently seeing.
While these assassins were indeed formidable, what was more worrying was their ability to recover their physical strength almost instantly and heal from injuries just as quickly. Unless his side was able to deliver a fatal blow, they would face the endless attacks of the enemy.
This could only mean one thing: there were powerful mages behind these assassins, continuously providing them with replenishment and support.
Komer, now free to act, signaled Lome to keep blessing their companions with the blessings of Light Magic, enhancing their responsiveness and recovery abilities, as Eve’s White Magic from behind was no longer sufficient to meet their allies’ needs.
Just when he had time to heal the wound on Grace’s arm, another assassin who had joined the Battlefield, clearly employing a Water Stealth Spell, remained invisible until he was close to flanking Grace.
A sharp thrust nearly pierced through Grace’s chest, and if Komer had not detected the enemy using the stealth spell in time, casting a simple Fireball technique to alter the angle of the attacker’s thrust, Grace would have been killed on the spot. Even so, the assassin’s stiletto still left a deep gash across Grace’s chest and abdomen.
Komer’s Spiritual Sense was heightened to the extreme, swiftly spreading outwards; he needed to find those damned mages immediately.
Though the assassins were skilled, they could not inflict such severe damage on his side. The significant pressure they faced was from the enemy mages, who thus far had only provided support. If they became desperate and resorted to attack Magic, casualties on Komer’s side were a real possibility. Komer could not allow this to happen.
The fluctuating Magic breath in the northwest corner soon allowed Komer to pinpoint the hiding place of the enemy. Different kinds of Magic breath were churning there, indicating the presence of more than two mages. Komer wondered why they remained hidden instead of confronting them openly – perhaps some other concern forced them to adopt such a tactic for a surprise attack.
Once the target was confirmed, Komer’s confidence swelled. With graceful movements of his fingers, he let loose a beautiful Fireball arrow that exploded in the air, blocking the dodging angles of the assassins entangled with Grace. With Komer’s interference, Grace’s stiletto showcased its might, lightly penetrating the enemy’s chest. Komer could even see the blood bubbles gushing out with the blood foam as Grace pulled her stiletto out from the enemy’s chest, squeezed by the lung’s pressure.
