Chapter 1027: Volume 33: Where to Go, Chapter 15: Exchange Skills (Continued)
Miss Shatima was truly enraged.
Vladimir Koff had gone too far, daring to fool her with fancy attack tactics!
Miss Shatima nearly gnashed her silver teeth to pieces as she channeled the full force of the Ice Dragon’s primal power into the Dragon Spear. The tip of the spear blade emitted a strange glow that abruptly extended, reaching over three feet in length. An icy blue halo enveloped the entire Dragon Spear; as its speed reached the extreme, the air within a radius of ten feet seemed to compress and solidify, indicating that the entire space was undergoing an aberration due to the rapid rotation and friction of power.
Like a meteor sweeping across the sky, Miss Shatima tightly gripped the Dragon Spear and boldly reversed direction in midair. The fierce recoil made even the fearless Miss Shatima feel a tinge of darkness before her eyes, but consumed by extreme anger, she could no longer care about the potential backlash to herself. The intense sense of insult drove her to urgently vent her inner fury on her opponent.
A pale blue orb of light made a swift loop in the air, suddenly reversing direction, and the tremendously strong air current caused a strange distortion in the entire space.
Vladimir Koff finally showed a change of color. This damned woman, did she think she was in a life-or-death battle with her mortal enemy? She had put forth her entire cultivation without reservation!
But now he could not afford to take even a half-step back.
The Knight Spear finally straightened, with faint black mist rising on its body. With a gentle increase in his energy, Vladimir Koff gracefully levitated; a rapid rotation of the Knight Spear stirred the air throughout the space, and a fierce Dark Devouring Power swept out with the gusts raised by the spear blade.
"If battle is what you want, then battle it shall be!"
Without any further words, Vladimir Koff took a deep breath, forcefully pressed down on the butt of his spear, and like a venomous serpent on the brink of death suddenly lashing out to bite, his slender Knight Spear transformed into a black streak of light, screeching as it charged straight toward the rapidly approaching pale blue halo.
A series of compressed sound waves burst out to such an extreme that they caused everyone in the vicinity to feel their hearts cramp with acute pain. The sound blasts had gone beyond what eardrums could tolerate, turning into infrasonic waves that entered people’s bodies and caused limitless waves to churn within their blood vessels.
The two combatants, however, were utterly heedless. Miss Shatima had forgotten everything, biting deeply into her lip, with her mind fixated on only one goal—to totally annihilate her opponent, regardless of the cost. Only in this way could she wholly vent the deep-seated indignation within her heart.
Her arms, agile, maneuvered the thick Dragon Spear, exploiting the forces of motion to continually draw upon her inner power, enabling the Dragon Spear to easily change its direction and angle in midair. The blue radiance from the spear blade had now exceeded three feet, even reaching four!
Vladimir Koff also brought his power to its highest Level. He truly had not expected this woman to conceal such depth. Her physical attacks with Fighting Qi had broken through the three-foot limit and entered a higher realm. This was only the second time Vladimir Koff had encountered such a sharp offensive wave after having witnessed Trajan’s style; had Miss Shatima’s command of her tactics been slightly more seasoned, she would have indeed possessed the strength to challenge Trajan himself.
The two halos intersected and clashed in the air, with a succession of crisp and dull collision sounds. From the low to the high altitude, from the initial relentless pursuit of the blue halo to the subsequent incessant counterattacks of the black halo, the two halos gradually intertwined, and the frequency of the sonic booms increased. The air tremors were so intense that within a radius of thirty feet, there were swirling dust clouds and stones flying everywhere.
The spectators had already retreated to fifty meters away, and those with slightly inferior angles or weaker vision could no longer clearly see the consecutive life-and-death struggle between the two fighters. They could only squint their eyes and combine their own sensory perception with observation to feel the extreme danger of the battle.
Everyone had forgotten that this fight was originally just a common sparring exercise. It just so happened that two opponents, both in a foul mood and proud by nature, had come together, escalating the situation to what it had become. It was not surprising after all. The bystanders, who enjoyed the chance to watch such a close-quarter combat without any concealment, benefited immensely, both in terms of practical fighting experience and the application of Fighting Qi techniques.
When the final muffled thud kicked up thick yellow dust, two figures finally staggered and shot apart.
Shatima’s body was almost completely drenched in sweat; her clothes sticking tightly to her skin, outlining her already enticing curves vividly, the blush on her swollen face, and her slightly trembling body showed that her strength was almost depleted. However, the Dragon Spear in her hand remained steady, and the fluctuating glimmer on the spearhead proved she was not without the power to fight on.
Vladimir Koff was no better off; Shatima’s enduring inner strength and stubborn style had given him a hard time. He had originally thought the battle would end quickly, but hadn’t expected his opponent to cling on so tenaciously, drawing out his real anger in the later stages. He eventually let go and fought with all his might, unleashing waves of increasingly powerful Dark Magic Force. Yet, surprisingly, his normally effective Dark Devouring Power couldn’t gain any advantage against the opponent’s Fighting Qi, which was continuously supported by an unending inner strength. Vladimir Koff almost believed his opponent had the support of a Mage behind her—otherwise, how could she sustain such a prolonged battle?
Taking a deep breath, Vladimir Koff realized his footsteps were somewhat unsteady, which shocked him. If his opponent took the opportunity to launch a third wave of attacks at that moment, he feared he might truly be exposed, and even if he managed to hold on, he would likely be in a sorry state. However, on the surface, he couldn’t show the slightest sign of fear. Otherwise, he would really become a laughingstock.
"Miss Shatima, do you think we need to continue?" he asked.
"As you wish," Shatima responded fiercely.
This time, Vladimir Koff really encountered a stubborn person. He didn’t want to continue fighting; after all, sparring to this extent had already crossed the line. To go any further would turn it into a life-or-death struggle. Yet, it seemed his opponent had no intention of backing down. Did she really expect him to yield?
"What do you mean, Miss Shatima, wasn’t our intimate contact just now enough?" he asked.
"Humph, who had intimate contact with you?" Shatima took a deep breath as well. The tone of compromise in his words gave her a large sense of relief. Continuing the fight could lead to who knows what; Shatima had no idea, and perhaps it would indeed mean having to transform.
"Heh, alright then, Miss Shatima. If you’re really interested, some of us Masked knights from the Black Flame Knights Regiment would like to ask for your guidance tomorrow. For today, let’s call it quits. How does that sound?"
"Humph, you’re getting off easy. Even if it’s a gauntlet match, I’m not afraid!"
Shatima, with thundering momentum, gathered up her Dragon Spear, while glancing fiercely at the smirking spectators. She then endured the pain in her body and left with stiff strides.
