Chapter 586. Deep Sleep
Chapter 586: 586. Deep Sleep
Mauve tossed and turned. Was it because she had practically not eaten all day? Not to mention she had only been able to eat a little in the past couple of days. She wondered if that contributed to her restlessness.
"Can’t sleep?" His voice reached her ears and he pulled her close to himself.
Mauve nodded and clung to him. "I don’t know. I feel very restless, hot too."
"Isn’t my skin cold enough for you?" He asked.
"It is," she tried to smile but failed miserably. She was uncomfortable in a way she couldn’t explain.
"Relax, okay," he said. "If you need anything, I am right here."
She nodded and tried to close her eyes to sleep, moving closer to Jael but it didn’t help. She sat up immediately and looked around.
Jael immediately looked concerned, "Do you want me to call Jean?"
She shook her head. "I just can’t sleep."
"I can stay awake with you, just try to calm down. You look like a rat that’s caught in a cage."
Mauve wanted to say she felt like it but she held her tongue. She wondered what was going on.
She couldn’t sleep and her body felt antsy. She didn’t feel as bad as she did earlier, she still felt a little weak and it was a hassle to move around, however, it didn’t explain her restlessness.
It was almost as if she had energy but didn’t have the strength to use it so it bubbled inside and made her a little antsy.
"Try to sleep," Jael cajoled and tried to pull her down.
She moved easily, she could see the shock on his face. He hadn’t even tugged hard enough.
"You are right," she whispered and clung to him feeling scared, she couldn’t wait for sunset.
Jael held her to himself and lightly drew shapes around her back as he tried to calm her down.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Doing all she could to fall asleep. It took a while but she finally did.
When she did it felt as though she fell into a very deep sleep. One that she couldn’t get out of no matter how hard ahead tried.

Mauve winced as she heard her name. She heard it again and tried to shut it out. She didn’t want to wake up.
"It has been almost a full day at this point, if she doesn’t wake up soon, I fear the worst," she heard a familiar voice say but she couldn’t place it.
"Mauve," she heard again. This voice sounded closer. It felt as if they put their lips to her ear. She thought it was a nice voice, it was also equally familiar.
She felt someone carry her, she let out a soft groan, annoyed at the obvious dedication to interrupt her sleep.
"Mauve, please wake up," the voice said again.
She groaned.
"Mauve," the voice persisted and she winced. She could tell she was waking up even though she didn’t want to just yet.
She slowly opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was Jael’s blue ones looking at her.
"She’s awake," he said looking up at the audience.
"Finally," voices rang out.
Almost immediately Jean rushed to her side while she lay across Jael’s legs. She was still dazed, her brain was having a hard time figuring out what was happening.
Jean touched her forehead and checked her eyes. "How do you feel?" He asked, searching.
She wondered what he was looking for. Her eyes scanned the rest of the room and she realized Louis and Mill were in the corner of the room. Mill was clinging onto Louis and he looked like he was consoling her.
"You definitely scared the hell out of us," Louis commented.
She frowned.
"How do you feel?" Jean repeated.
She looked at him and then looked at Jael. She opened her mouth to speak and let out the loudest yawn ever.
Jael chuckled, "I guess I can take that as a good sign."
"I am hungry," she said at the end of her yawn.
"I can tell," Jael said with a smile.
"I will go get her food," Mill said.
"I will go with you," Louis offered.
Mauve watched the two of them leave the room before she turned her attention to Jael.
They all looked concerned. Surely, she couldn’t have been asleep for that long?
"How do you feel?" Jean asked her again.
He was standing back, a few feet away with his hands behind his back.
"Lightheaded," she replied. "And very thirsty."
"Mill will bring water along with your meal," Jael said.
She nodded, she was fully awake at this point but she still felt a little slow. She could tell that as soon as she was done eating she would want to go back to sleep.
"Headache?" Jean asked.
Mauve blinked as she realized she couldn’t feel any trace of the headache anymore. "Gone," she grinned.
"Your temperature is also back to normal. Well, not exactly but it is low enough to be considered normal. I don’t know what to make of this but I will be back to check on you after sundown. I don’t think there is anything else I can do tonight. I am truly glad you’re awake."
"Thank you for your help."
"I don’t exactly deserve your thanks, I couldn’t even wake her up." Jean bowed to Jael before making his way to the door.
Mauve looked at Jael with a confused expression on her face. She could tell something had transpired and it had to do with her.
"What happened?" She asked.
Jael looked down at her. "You refused to wake up," he replied. "No matter what we did. It was obvious you were breathing but no matter what we did, you didn’t wake up."
"How long was I asleep for?" She asked.
"It is sunrise," he explained.
Mauve frowned, "When am I supposed to wake up?"
"No, it’s another sunrise. You slept the whole day and night."
Mauve’s eyes widened in horror. She couldn’t believe she had been asleep for that long. It didn’t feel like it.
