Chapter 587. Fading
Chapter 587: 587. Fading
Mauve opened her eyes to see Jael staring down at her. She didn’t miss the look of relief on his face as she opened her eyes.
"Hi," he said with a huge smile. His lips came down and crushed hers with his. "Did you sleep well?" He asked.
She blinked and kissed his back but didn’t get a chance to revel in it before he pulled away. She pouted showing her disapproval.
"I think so," she replied and let out a loud sound as she yawned loudly.
"I am glad," he said, not once taking his eyes off her. "Was worried I would have a hard time waking you again. How do you feel?" He asked.
She sat up and stretched out her hands. "Like I slept a little too long."
"Isn’t that bad?" He asked.
"Not at all, I feel pretty good."
"Are you sure? As soon as you finished eating, you fell asleep. I was worried but decided not to wake you up and at least wait till sunset. I am glad I did."
"Did I really fall asleep that fast? It doesn’t feel like it," she replied.
"Yeah, you did but the length of time you slept is unimportant. As long as you’re awake that is all that matters. Should I get Jean or Mill first?"
"Mill, I feel yucky. I want a bath."
"I suppose, the last time you had a bath was practically two days ago," he smirked.
"Would you not say that out loud!" She cried.
"Would you like me to help you wash off?" He asked.
She looked at his face and she could tell he was really hoping she wouldn’t say no. His blue eyes stared at her with a certain intensity that made her inside twist in a good way.
"Okay," she grinned. "We can wash up together."
"I will ask the servants to get the bath water."
She nodded and watched as he got out of bed. Mauve’s eyes followed his every movement and she stared at him longingly.
His pants hung a little low but not even to reveal anything. She watched his back muscles as they moved with every step he took.
He returned to bed as soon as he called for a servant. He slid right next to her, his eyes locked with hers. Mauve found herself smiling even though there was no reason to.
"Isn’t it better to get Jean?" He asked.
"Nope, I feel okay, really."
He gave her a suspicious look but didn’t push and at the same time, a knock rang out. Mauve suspected it was her bath water.

"I think the white blotches on your arm are fading," Jael said as he helped her dry off.
"It is?" She asked as she tried to force herself back to reality.
She had assumed they would have bathed together but she was the only one who had a bath. She would be lying if she said she wasn’t disappointed.
However, she couldn’t deny that Jael had done a good job. He had even washed her hair which was wrapped tightly in a towel.
"See," he said, sounding like an excited little kid.
"I can’t see anything," she whispered and he dropped her arm so he could go get the light.
He brought it closer and Mauve squinted her eyes to see and saw that he was right. A bit of the white patch was slowly losing its white color. It wasn’t enough to say it was fading out but compared to the rest of the patches there was an obvious difference.
She grinned at him. "You are right."
Jael grabbed her naked body with his arms, lifting her from the bed. She squealed excitedly, kicking her legs.
"You’re getting better," he whispered in her ear as he held onto her.
She could hear the relief in his voice. She wondered just how much it had bothered him. Even though he might not have said a thing, he had been worried she had the White Disease and the chance that she might die.
She was glad that wasn’t the case. She did feel like she was getting better. She did think so.
He dropped her back on the bed. "We should get you dressed and get you some food. I will call Jean to check on you and hear what you say. There is no reason to jump to conclusions without hearing a professional’s opinion."
Mauve smiled, she wanted to tell him he was the one jumping to conclusions but she was equally as happy as he was.
"Okay," she nodded. "I am very hungry."
"Your appetite is back, that is more than enough indication." She heard him take a deep breath as if to slow himself down. "Just let me know once you feel a little weird."
"Of course," she replied.
He leaned forward and kissed her forehead and he just held the position. He pulled away after a few minutes.
"I should get you dressed," he said.
She grinned, "Yes."
His excitement made her so happy. He could hardly keep still as he dressed her in one of his clothes.
The shirt stopped about halfway down her legs. She climbed onto the bed and he pulled the covers over her legs.
"It is funny," he said as he made sure she was comfortable. "Yesterday, I feared the worst but for some reason, you seem to be getting better."
"I am sorry," she said. She still couldn’t believe she had slept that long.
"Don’t apologize," Jael said, shaking his head. "If sleep is what you need, you can sleep as long as you want."
He bent his head forward as if to kiss her and then pulled away. "Mill is here," he said and started to get out of bed. "I am sure she is here with your meal."
"Yeah," Mauve replied, absentmindedly.
She watched Jael walk to the door and pull it open before Mill could even knock.
He pulled the tray from Mill’s hands. Mill looked reluctant to give it to him but she didn’t stand a chance against his strong tug.
