The Vampire King's Possession -
Chapter 567. Traumatized
Chapter 567: 567. Traumatized
Mauve felt her throat close up as she took the first spoon. She chewed as slowly as she could and as carefully, making sure not to swallow in a hurry.
It still didn’t stop her throat from clamping up when she tried to swallow. She did manage to push through it and accepted the second spoon from Jael.
He let her take her time to eat, careful not to rush her. She ate about half of it before she gave up.
"I can’t," she said when Jael insisted. Her stomach felt off, it churned, making a weird sound.
Jael frowned, glancing down at the source of the sound. "Okay," he said and took the spoon himself.
He finished the rest of her food while she just sat watching him. She didn’t take her eyes off him until he finished eating.
"Don’t look at me like that," he said at the end. "Can’t let any go to waste." He laughed.
"Did I complain?" She asked with a soft laugh.
"But you wouldn’t stop staring." He raised his brow to accentuate his point.
"Because I like looking at you," she let out a sound groan as she tried to stretch but her hands didn’t lift.
A/N: What’s this fever rizz? lol
Jael blinked and then laughed. "Stare all you want, I’ll be more than happy to put on a show for you."
"Will you really?" She asked with keen interest. Her eyes closed slightly as she concentrated.
"Of course," he leaned close enough for their nose to touch. She closed her eyes. "Just get better first." He pulled away.
"Wet blanket," she said with a little pout and Jael laughed.
"The herbs will be here soon, prepare yourself," he warned.
"Ugh," she groaned. "Why did you have to remind me?" She sniffled.
"Come in," Jael said even before they heard a knock and Mauve tasted fear. It was almost as bitter as the herbs themselves.
She was traumatized. She couldn’t even see it yet and she was reliving the horror of having to drink it.
"You look as if you’re about to get attacked by a wild animal," he said but his voice was soft. "It will be over before you know it," he encouraged.
Mauve nodded and tried to appear brave but she knew she was failing miserably. She watched the door open and Mill walked in with a tray. She was the only one.
"Mill," Mauve called.
Mill bowed to Jael and placed the tray on the bed as she moved the dirty plates. She placed that on the ground and the new tray on the table.
The new tray in question only held a cup and Mauve had never been so happy in her life. She would only need to take a cup of the green juice.
"I apologize for not bringing the water but I spoke to Kieran and he said she should have her bath instead."
"With lukewarm water?" Mauve asked in horror. She would die of cold.
"No, he said the usual warm water should do the trick."
"Alright," Mauve said with an audible sigh.
"I already prepared your bath water, it should be in your room in a few minutes. I will help you there, wash you up, and bring you..."
"She can just have her bath here," Jael interrupted.
"No, it’s fine. Besides, my clothes are there. It will be easier this way."
Jael squinted his eyes but didn’t disagree. He leaned forward and picked up the cup. "Here," he said.
Mauve grimaced and looked at Mill as if the vampire could save her. At this point, she was willing to beg for help.
"Don’t look at Mill, look at me. It will only be before for a moment, okay?"
She nodded and accepted the cup, her hands shaking a little. She feared it would taste worse than the last time.
She brought the cup close to her mouth and the familiar smell hit her. Her stomach twisted and a nauseating feeling overwhelmed her but Mauve pushed through it. She knew if she waited another second she would end up not drinking it.
It was the same green color, her eye did not miss this as she brought it to her lips, drinking it in one go.
Mauve pulled the cup away from her lips as she swallowed in her hurry. A little spilled down her lips and onto the front of her nightdress.
She grimaced, her face showed utter disgust. She shook her head in an attempt to make it feel less revolting.
"Here," Jael said quickly, handing her a cup of grape juice. It had been left over from her meal.
She accepted it quickly, drinking it in the same manner as she had the herbs, praying it would at least make her mouth not taste like she had chewed dandelion leaves with a mix of ginger and garlic.
She pulled the cup away and asked for another. Mill poured it out and Mauve took a sip this time, slowly savoring the taste.
Mauve frowned, her mouth tasted better but she still felt very nauseated. Her stomach churned almost to the point of hurting.
"What’s wrong?" Jael asked, noticing her discomfort.
"I don’t feel so good," she mumbled.
"Why? What’s wrong?"
"I think I am going to..." Mauve didn’t get a chance to explain as the contents she had just managed to swallow came back up with the force of a broken dam.
She swung her face to the left, trying to aim anywhere other than Jael’s face as her stomach tried to empty itself.
Mauve hurled over the bed. Her stomach contracted and pushed upwards as though it aimed to pierce the floor as the contents poured out of her.
"Mauve," Jael cried as he grabbed her shoulders, preventing her from falling off the bed and into her own vomit while she hacked her guts out.
Even in the dark Mauve could clearly make out the green of the herbs on the floor but all she could think about was how she had just ruined the expensive-looking carpet.
