The Vampire King's Possession -
Chapter 537. Ideas
Chapter 537: 537. Ideas
Mauve woke up to Jael staring hard at her face. She smiled, turned her head, and rolled away from him.
"Don’t look away," he said.
"What do you expect when you’re staring at me so intensely?"
"No, I am not," he whispered and placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Yes, you are," she whispered.
He pressed down on her shoulder, rolling her back to him. Mauve pouted and glared at him as he turned her so she faced him again.
"It can’t have been that bad," he whispered with a hint of a smile on his lips.
He brought his head closer, close enough to kiss her but he didn’t. His gaze moved from her lips to eyes and Mauve blushed and pulled back.
"Yes, you just did it again," she replied, her chest heaving.
He chuckled, the sound rumbling around his chest.
"Not fair," she whispered and tried to roll out of bed but he caught her and pulled her to himself.
"Just where are you going?" He asked.
Mauve swallowed as her back hit his solid chest. She could feel every one of his muscles. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
She didn’t like her fast-beating heart. Why did he look so handsome this morning? Even his bed hair suited him.
"To have my bath," she replied with an eye roll even though he couldn’t see her face.
"Without me?"
"You could join me, I am sure Mill will be more than horrified to help you wash up."
He laughed, "Why would I want that? You could help me," he whispered. He nuzzled her hair.
"No, we would probably take too much time because you’ll get ideas."
"You make it sound like it’s a bad thing," he replied.
"It’s not," she replied with a low voice.
"Then it’s settled then," he announced.
"No, it’s not."
"Really?" He asked and pulled her waist to himself. "Even though I already have ideas."
"Jael," she blushed. He didn’t need to do that she could already tell.
"Don’t sound so shocked. You should be very familiar with this," he pressed against her again, moving his hand to the front of her dress.
Mauve let out a soft sound as his hand touched her bosom. He caressed the tips lightly and shots of pleasure went all over her body.
Mauve didn’t let her body take control as she pulled away from his grasp and rolled out of bed.
She didn’t miss the disappointed look in Jael’s eyes as she fled. She smirked as she ran to the connecting door.
"Mauve," he called with an unimpressed look. His glowing eyes and engorged fangs told her just how aroused he was.
"I have to get ready," she replied, unable to hide the smile on her face. "It will be time for the first meal and then the party. I want to be ready on time."
"Ah, is that how you want to play it? Okay," he said and lifted himself so his head was resting on his palm and his elbow on the bed.
"What are you talking about?" She asked.
"Is that what you’re going to do? Feign ignorance. Alright then. Just know the next time I get my hands on you, you won’t escape."
"Is that a threat?" She asked, almost laughing out loud.
"It’s a promise, sweetheart." His gaze darkened as he spoke the words and she felt his eyes trail her body.
Mauve blushed and looked away from him, "I guess I can hold you to your word."
Jael’s eyes widened slightly before returning to their regular size. "I always keep to my word unless I say otherwise and I haven’t."
Mauve nodded and slipped out the door. She closed it and leaned her back against it. She covered her face with her palms.
"I am guessing something good happened. It’s hard to tell with your reaction," Mill said.
"Mill!" Mauve pushed herself from the door. "You’re here."
"Yeah," she replied. "What happened?" She asked.
"Nothing," Mauve said and looked to her feet.
"If you say so," Mill said. "Are you ready for your bath?"
Mauve nodded and walked toward Mill. Mill had seemed completely unbothered by her reaction, just curious.
At this point, she was sure there was nothing she could do that would faze Mill, she had seen enough. She sighed as she stood in front of Mill.
"What?" Mill asked.
"Nothing important," she replied.
"I am listening," Mill said and helped her out of her nightdress.
"Well, you know I have to attend the party," she whispered as she walked toward the tub.
"Anxious?" Mill asked.
"Of course. Who wouldn’t be?" She asked.
"You have a point but don’t worry too much. I doubt anyone would bother you," she replied.
"You’re probably right but it didn’t make their stares any easier." She winced.
"You have been handling it just fine. You’ll be fine."
"Your confidence in me is reassuring."
"Anytime," Mill replied.
"Would you be attending?" Mauve asked.
"Of course, every Lord will be in attendance. The current Primus doesn’t seem to like parties very much. Usually there used to be at least a party every month, sometimes more."
"What? Isn’t that a little too much?"
"It wasn’t but then not all the Lords needed to be in attendance. If you couldn’t make it for any reason, mostly Palers, you could stay home."
"Oh," Mauve replied.
"Yeah, it was just something that happened every month or so."
"I see, vampires sound like they like to party," Mauve commented. She already suspected but she never thought too deeply about it.
"Well," Mill cleared her throat. It’s not the kind of party you’re thinking about."
"What kind of party was it?" Mauve asked with a puzzled expression.
Mill looked away for a second. "It was usually a blood party."
"I am sorry what?" Mauve sat upright in the tub, splashing water around the sides.
"Yeah," Mill replied. "Exactly that. I don’t think it’s a good idea to go into that. That’s probably what Seraphino probably wanted to do with Vae."
"What do you mean by that? What did he want to do with Vae?" She asked.
