The Vampire King's Possession -
Chapter 522. My Guest
Chapter 522: 522. My Guest
Mauve shuffled on her feet as Mill knocked on the door. They had rushed here as soon as Mill broke the news to her and she wasn’t sure if this was a good idea.
She felt antsy. She knew she shouldn’t but she couldn’t help it. Lady Sabrina was nice to her and she doubted that would have changed. More Like she hoped it hadn’t.
She was going to be positive because if Lady Sabrina didn’t want anything to do with her, she wouldn’t have asked for her.
The door opened up immediately and Mauve’s eyes hurt at the glistening figure. Maybe it was the way the light shone against her back but her bright blond hair glowed and her smile was just as radiant.
"Mauve," she called as her eyes rested on her. Lady Sabrina took a step forward brushing past Mill as she gathered Mauve in her arms.
Her legs lifted off the floor as Lady Sabrina gave her the tightest hug ever. Mauve kicked her legs as she tried to breathe.
"Lady Sabrina," Mauve replied, not helping the smile that appeared across her face. Even though her chest and lungs were dying she was still smiling.
"I remember telling you to call me Sabrina. Don’t tell me the distance made you forget all that," she scolded as she dropped Mauve back down.
"It slipped out," Mauve grinned.
Sabrina took a step back as if she wanted to take a closer look at Mauve. "You look good," she nodded approvingly. "Very good."
"Thank you," Mauve smiled. "You look great."
"Oh, you’re just being polite."
"No, I am very serious."
"Thank you," Sabrina smiled softly at her. She turned to Mill who was just standing in the corner watching. "You can leave her with me."
"I am afraid I can’t do that," she said sternly while giving Sabrina a suspicious look.
"No, really it’s fine. I just want to talk to Mauve alone in my room," she explained. Her voice was soft but Mauve didn’t miss her displeasure at having to explain herself.
"Mill, it’s fine," Mauve said. Mill’s eyes widened slightly but she quickly nodded. "Call me if you need me."
"Thank you and if Jael is looking for me, could you tell him where I am?" Mauve asked.
"Of course," Mill said and shot Sabrina a look. "I will be sure to do just that."
"Thank you," Mauve whispered.
"You’re welcome," Mill said and started walking away.
As soon as Mill turned away from her, Sabrina pulled her into her room and shut the door behind her. The door made a soft click as it closed in the space.
Mauve blinked a little as she stared in awe. Sabrina’s room wasn’t dark. It looked cozy even though she hadn’t unpacked yet.
Her bags were on the ground by the side of the bed. The bed was roughly the same size as the one in her room which meant it took up about half of the room space.
The room was smaller than her room and there was only one window. There was an empty wardrobe that was wide open and a chair by the side of the bed.
The dresser was right next to the wardrobe and the drawers were partly open.
"Forgive the mess," Sabrina said as she noticed Mauve’s gaze. "I chased off the servants that were supposed to help me arrange because I wanted to see you. They can do that later."
"Oh, okay." Mauve stopped looking around and tried to focus her gaze on Sabrina.
"Have a seat," Sabrina said and pulled her to the bed. "It’s so good to see you again." She bounced on the bed as spoke.
"Same here," Mauve smiled back.
"We have so much catching up to do," Sabrina grinned. "I am sure a lot has happened since the last time we saw each other."
Mauve shrugged, "Not really. I am sure you have more interesting tales than I have."
Sabrina looked at her with disbelief. Her expression almost made Mauve laugh. She knew she enjoyed the vampire’s company.
"Huh? Say something real. Do you know all I did since the last time we saw each other?" She knew herself on the bed and peeked at Mauve.
Mauve shook her head, she couldn’t take a guess.
"Stay at home," she groaned. "Father is completely against moving around, especially since the whole situation." Her eyes darkened for a minute. "You have no idea how delighted I was when I heard the Primus was throwing a party. I wanted to come yesterday but father had an issue to attend to so we had to move it to today."
Mauve nodded as she listened. She couldn’t help but think Sabrina was incredibly chatty today.
"I am glad you got here safely," Mauve replied.
"You don’t seem very excited to see me," Sabrina said.
"No, not all." Mauve shook her head vigorously. "A lot of things have been happening."
"And you told me nothing has happened," Sabrina squinted her eyes at Mauve but Sabrina didn’t stop smiling.
"I wouldn’t call them interesting..."
The rest of Mauve’s sentence drowned as the door was thrown open with an unnecessary force.
"Sabrina, I can’t seem to find my... What are you doing here?" She asked darkly.
"That’s no way to speak to my guest," Sabrina responded. "What do you want?"
"You brought her here, why?" She scrunched up her face as she looked at Mauve obviously not pleased with what she saw.
Mauve’s gaze didn’t falter as she met the vampire’s stare. The two sisters had an uncanny resemblance but it was easy to tell them apart.
Helana’s hair was slightly darker than her sister’s hair and she had a childish air around her compared to her older sister, Sabrina.
"It doesn’t concern you. What do you want?" Sabrina spoke to Helana with an irritated tone to her voice.
"Of course it does. You have a complete stranger in your room. A human for that matter. I can’t think of any reason why she has to be in your room so I am asking."
"It still doesn’t concern you. Now that you have rudely stated your curiosity. You will tell me what you want or you’ll leave my room."
