Chapter 521. Wild Plan

Chapter 521: 521. Wild Plan

Louis slowly turned his gaze from the closed door that Mauve just exited. He let out a loud sigh.

He turned his attention to Jael and saw the Primus had his gaze on him. Louis groaned and took a step forward.

He could already tell he wasn’t going to like this, he might as well get comfortable. If he was about to hear something he didn’t want to, he’d prefer to do so seated.

He dropped on the soft seat and turned to Jael. "Well then let’s hear what this is about," Louis said.

"Come closer, Mack," Jael ordered. Mack was standing by the door.

"Yes, Sire." He kept his gaze away from Jael as he approached the desk. He stopped directly in front of him and didn’t take a seat.

"Get comfortable, Mack. I assure you you’ll need a seat for this one," Louis said.

Jael shot a look at Louis but Louis merely shrugged. Jael didn’t start speaking until Mack was seated.

"I have a task for the both of you," Jael whispered.

"Does it involve the human... What was her name again?"

"Vae," Mack replied.

"Oh," Louis’ expression changed. "Are you familiar with her?"

"She was in the castle a few months back," he responded.

"Yes, it is about her," Jael confirmed.

Louis turned to Jael, "Nope. That’s a bad idea. Whatever you want us to do, forget it. It is not going to happen and you can’t convince me."

"You don’t even know what I am about to ask you," Jael hissed.

"Maybe not but I am sure I can take a wild guess."

"You don’t get to say no, I have already decided how this will go."

Louis groaned, "Just because you sit there and give the orders doesn’t mean anything. If you decide something, do it yourself."

Jael didn’t acknowledge Louis’ words as he went off about the plan. "The meeting would commence immediately after the second meal. I shall tell Damon to keep watch and see where Seraphino would keep Vae. I doubt it would be anywhere but his room. The two of you will sneak her out of there while the meeting is going and Mack will take her back to human territory. You can take as many guards as you may need. Damon will pick out the best ones."

Louis looked at Jael. "No way. First off, that’s a wild ridiculous plan, a terrible idea and to say I didn’t see this coming would be a lie. How many more errands do I have to do to make up for leaving years ago? How do I say this? You can’t kidnap her."

"That’s not kidnapping. I am rescuing her," Jael replied. Louis didn’t miss that Jael ignored everything else he said.

"You?" Louis laughed. "What are you going to do when Seraphino finds out because obviously there is no way he would not notice her absence?"

"What’s there to do? As long as you’re not caught, there shouldn’t be any problem."

"Are you serious?" Louis glared at him in horror. "Do you truly think he wouldn’t know it is you?"

"That’s the point!" Jael smirked.

"No," Louis cried, sitting upright. "That’s not the point, that shouldn’t be the point." He sighed.

"Do what you have to do and leave the rest for me to deal with."

"You’re practically not doing anything. The plan doesn’t even make any sense. Also, the timing doesn’t work as I will be in the meeting."

"Yeah for the first part and when you’re done you can return."

"It’s not that easy."

"It’s not that difficult either."

"This was your original plan from the get-go, right? You had no plans to be amicable. You were just pulling his legs."

"That’s not completely true. If he had requested something reasonable, I would have considered it but he didn’t, and not to mention the nerve he had to strut into my castle and be this disrespectful. It’s only expected that I stoop as low as he would."

"You truly think there would be no consequences for doing something like this?" Louis asked, narrowing his eyes.

"You’re usually not this cautious and it’s my cross to carry. Just do what you have to do and let me deal with the aftermath."

"For your sake, I hope you’re right," Louis sighed and leaned back into his seat.

Louis was worried, it would have been a different case if Jael didn’t have much to lose but he did now.

Seraphino wouldn’t sit back and take this. Louis was worried he would cause irreparable damage in retaliation.

Seraphino already showed he had no issues going against the Primus, regardless of what the consequences would be. He already lost his fangs, and Louis was sure he didn’t care for anything else.

Jael turned his attention to Mack, "Can I count on you?"

"I apologize, Sire but I am not sure I’ll be the best man for the job."

Jael’s gaze darkened, "And why is that? You’re one of the best warriors the squad has had to offer."

"I think she would appreciate someone else," Mack murmured.

Jael frowned, "She doesn’t get a choice and as long as your reasoning for declining has nothing to do with the task itself, I don’t want to hear."

"Yes, Sire." Mack bowed his head.

"Well then, I guess that settles it. If you have any questions, do let me know."

Mack bowed and slowly walked out of the study. The sound of the door closing sounded annoyingly loud to Louis.

Jael frowned, "Since you’re not leaving. I suppose you have something more to say."

"No, I don’t," Louis stated. "I am just taking my time but if you think that way then you must know this isn’t the right way to go about it."

"Then what would you suggest?"

"Nothing," Louis said with a loud sigh. "That’s why I am not stopping you. However, it doesn’t mean I won’t tell you what a terrible plan it is."

"If I wanted a review I would have asked."

Louis pushed himself to his feet. "I will get it done but it’s more for Mauve than because you asked me to."

"Whatever floats your boat," Jael said. "I truly do not care."

Louis winced at the look in Jael’s eyes. Some days, he thought he was bridging the gap between them but situations like this reminded him that it wouldn’t be that easy.
