The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 515. Practically Impossible

Chapter 515: 515. Practically Impossible

Mauve couldn’t help the relief that washed through her at the end of the first meal. Jael was quick to lead her out, noting her discomfort as usual.

"You did great," he praised as they walked out of the hall.

She chuckled, "You don’t need to praise me like that," she whispered, smiling still.

"Why not? You deserve every praise."

"Jael," she grinned and leaned into him. She couldn’t even be mad.

"I will go with you to your room, Mill should join you shortly. I will wait for her with you."

"You don’t have to do that," she whispered.

"I want to," he replied.

She nodded, "Okay."

She walked in silence beside him as he made his way to her bedroom. Mauve stood back as he pushed the door in and walked into the room.

Mill has already cleaned up, there was absolutely no evidence that she had showered here except for the faint smell of soap.

The curtains were drawn and the windows opened. The candles were also lit as though Mill had expected them to return.

Jael walked to the bed, pulling Mauve with him. He sat on her bed and pulled her onto his legs.

"How are you?" He asked directly into her ear, his breath teasing her ears.

"I am fine," she responded.

"Are you sure?"

Mauve nodded, "I am still worried about Vae and I really wish he would stop treating her like that."

"I know, I hate that you had to witness that."

"Jael," she suddenly called.

"Yeah," he responded.

"Did you use to treat humans this way? Is that why none of the Lord seemed uncomfortable about Seraphino’s treatment of Vae."

Mauve felt Jael stiffen and he leaned into her. "Jael," she called when he didn’t reply.

"We didn’t all treat humans like that but there were a few vampires that did. Humans were used for their blood so many times it got really nas..."

"I get it," she said, not wanting him to finish the rest of that sentence. Her imagination was already going wild. She didn’t want a reason to hate them.

"Does it bother you?" He asked.

Mauve sighed, "I would be lying if I said it didn’t. However, we have the treaty now. You won’t treat humans like that anymore and you treat me so well," she grinned wiggling in his arms. "I can forgive past behavior. I can bury the hatchet."

He turned her head, "I’d like nothing more than to be buried between your thighs."

She knew he wasn’t lying, she could feel his hardness beneath her. How was it possible that he moved from zero to a hundred that fast?

"Jael, this is neither the time nor the place."

"Maybe not the time but I wouldn’t say that about the place. It’s your bedroom, I am sure we can make it work."

She turned around and flicked his forehead. He grabbed her hand holding it to his head before slowly pulling it away and kissing the back of her palm

"I wouldn’t want to be without you and I am glad what you saw doesn’t change how you feel towards me."

"Of course, it doesn’t," she smiled at him.

"Good," he returned. "Louis would be here later to take you to Vae. I don’t know if you’d be able to see her but if anyone can make sure you see her, it will be Louis."

Mauve nodded, fighting back the urge to thank him again.

"I should go," he said and easily lifted her off his legs and placed her on the bed. "Mill is here."

She waved to him, "I will see you later."

"Of course."

She kept waving until he was out the door and in less than ten seconds Mill walked right in.

"I saw the Primus on the way out," she said as she rushed to Mauve’s side.

"Yeah," she replied. "He just left here."

"He told me to stay with you and take you wherever you want to go. Are you going somewhere?" She added.

"Not yet," Mauve responded.

"Where?"

"I am not leaving. You don’t have to look so worried."

"I know," Mill said and sat beside her. "But with everything that’s going on, I can’t help but be worried."

"You don’t have to worry about me," Mauve said and held Mill’s palm.

"You’re so brave, I wouldn’t be able to keep my composure if it were me."

Mauve didn’t know how to tell Mill that the only reason she was breaking down sobbing was because of Jael. She had assured her he would fix this and she believed him.

She was shamelessly hiding behind his back so it was easy to handle the situation.

"I am not brave, I am hiding behind Jael," Mauve whispered.

Mill glared at her, "You need to give yourself some credit."

"Yes ma’am," she said and chuckled.

"I am glad," she whispered. "When Vae left you wouldn’t leave your room for two days. You were beyond depressed. When I found out about this I thought it would put you back in that state but you seem fine, I am glad."

Mauve recalled the memory. She had been so sad when she discovered Vae had left her all alone here that it had been hard to breathe but now she was glad about everything that happened. Maybe not everything but she wouldn’t change most things.

"Yeah, me too." She nodded to Mill.

"Remember what you asked me about?" Mill suddenly said.

"What?" She frowned as she tried to recall. She had said a lot of things to Mill. It was hard to remember which.

"If humans could bear a vampire’s child," Mill explained.

Mauve sat upright immediately, her ears perked as she listened to Mauve’s words. "Yes?"

"I asked around," she started to say. "Unfortunately, I didn’t hear anything like that. Most of the vampires say it’s practically impossible."

Mill spoke as gently as she could as she broke the news to Mauve but it didn’t stop nor reduce the effect.
