Chapter 475. Disturb Me

Chapter 475: 475. Disturb Me

"Come in ten minutes," he said to the servants. They bowed and nodded before walking out the door.

Mauve frowned at the very specific order. She tried not to give it much thought but she was surprised at the length Jael was going to make sure she didn’t get a whiff of whatever it was.

She sat on the bed brooding. She was a bit annoyed that she wouldn’t be able to see anything from here. The least she deserved was a show, after everything she had been through.

Mauve smacked her cheeks at her train of thought. The stress must be getting to her.

She heard a soft sound of water splash as Jael got into the tub. She squinted her eyes trying to see but to no avail.

She had no choice but to rely on her ears. She heard him start to scrub his body and it sounded vicious.

Mauve panicked for a few seconds. Did he fall on horse crap? She wouldn’t have minded though but Jael seemed very adamant.

After a few minutes, she heard more water pouring and then Jael got out of the tub.

She could hear his footsteps because the water made a squishy sound against the carpet.

Mauve swallowed as his pale outline got closer and closer to her. It didn’t take long for her to realize he was stark naked with water dripping down his body.

There was a towel around his neck but Jael did not attempt to dry himself. Mauve forgot her train of thought as she watched him walk closer.

His hair was slicked back, he had obviously used his hand to move the strands from his face. She thought he looked a little paler than normal but it was probably just the dim light. He did look tired though that was as clear as day.

His long sleek black hair gave him such an aura but Mauve realized it was his toned body that had her attention.

At this point, she would be drooling with how hard she was staring but what else could she do when he was blatantly putting on a show for her?

He stopped by the side of the bed, his eyes glued on her. "Hi," he said with a smile.

She blushed and forced herself to look away. "Hi."

"I thought you wanted a hug," he said.

"Yes but not with you dripping water everywhere." She glared at him, exasperated.

"Why are you complaining?" He smirked. "I am sure you enjoyed the show." He started to dry himself.

"What show?" She asked, feigning ignorance.

He laughed, placed the towel on top of his head, and wiggled hard to dry out the water.

He tossed the towel and got into bed. Mauve remained unmoving. He was still very naked, which was hard to ignore.

"Considering you were crying because you could hug me earlier, this is a bit painful," he whispered.

"I didn’t think you’d get into bed naked," she said with her arms around herself.

"And since when has that been a problem?" He asked with an unimpressed look.

"I didn’t say it was." Mauve couldn’t understand why she was hesitating. She did want to badly hug him. She wanted him to put his arms around her and tell her she had been worrying for nothing.

"Okay," he said and stretched his arms wide. "Come here,"

Mauve blinked and unwrapped her arms from her body. She was rushing from her side of the bed to him before she could even think about it.

She breathed a sigh of relief as their skin touched. Mauve clung to him as though he was her lifeline. His skin was warmer than usual. She wondered if the bath water had anything to do with it.

As soon as his body touched his, he wrapped his arms tightly around her. "I am sorry I made you worried."

She shook her head, "It’s fine. I am glad you’re back unharmed."

She pulled back so she could stare at his face. His bright blue eyes were staring at her lovingly. That was the only way to describe it.

"Of course, you had nothing to worry about."

"Next time, wake me up!" She scolded. "I don’t care what time it is but the last thing I want is to find out from someone else. It makes me think it is so much of a big deal that you can’t even tell me about it."

"I am sorry," he repeated and tapped the top of her head. "I didn’t want to disturb you—

"I want to be disturbed!" She interrupted. "Disturb me, please."

Mauve tightened her hand around him to stop herself from crying.

"Yes ma," he replied. "I will."

"Okay, I’ll feel much better if you tell me yourself."

"I won’t put you through that again," he replied.

She nodded, "Thank you."

She slowly raised her head and the look on Jael’s face made her heart jump. He didn’t let her process it before kissing her hard.

"I missed you too," he said after pulling away. "You were all I thought about during everything, that’s why I had to come in here first even though I smelled so awful."

Mauve sniffed at him, "I can’t smell anything," she said.

"That’s because I washed it off."

"What happened? You didn’t tell me what it was."

Mauve frowned and a knock stopped Jael from responding to her question. He gave them the order to come in. The servants moved quickly and were gone in less than a minute.

"You didn’t answer my question," she said after he shut the door.

"What made you smell so bad you didn’t want me anywhere near you?"

"Palers," he responded. "We had to fight a lot of them and fighting Palers meant getting it all over yourself. I didn’t want you to smell that. You know how badly they smell."

"Oh," Mauve said, speechless. Palers did smell very awful. The smell was strong enough to make one sick to their stomach.
