Chapter 444. A Kiss

Chapter 444: 444. A Kiss

Jael glared at Mill as Mauve jumped off him when she realized they weren’t alone. He would have thought Mill was on his side but it was obvious she was picking Mauve over her Primus.

Mill turned her gaze away from him and gave him a bow. He wasn’t particularly pissed, he just wished she had waited a couple more seconds before alerting Mauve of her presence.

He moved his gaze to Mauve. Her bed hair was adorable and even though she had her back to him, he could still see the redness on the side of her neck.

He blinked and ran his tongue over his fangs. He would be lying if he said he didn’t want a drink. It was all he could think about.

It was taking everything to hold himself back and it wasn’t just feeding but he didn’t want to put her body through more stress.

He watched her move away from him and closer to Mill. Without turning around she said, "Could you excuse us for a few minutes, I’d like to change?"

Jael squinted his eyes. Surely she was joking. There was no way he would leave. "Carry on. You can pretend I’m not here."

He wouldn’t dare miss this. Besides, he has seen her naked several times yet she chooses to act like this.

"You know that’s not possible, Jael!" She said stubbornly, turning to glare at him.

Jael winked at her and she blushed. She was so easy to read, it was adorable.

"Mill," he called. "We can’t afford to be late."

"Of course," she said and moved closer to Mauve to help her out of her clothes.

"If we are even a minute late, I’ll ask the servants to serve the second meal in my room and you’ll join me there."

"Jael," she cried.

"You’re running out of time, Mauve," he smiled.

She turned her head to look at him briefly and stuck her tongue at him but Jael wasn’t paying attention as Mill was taking her clothes off and that was all he could take note of.

Mill moved quickly and soon enough Mauve was left in just her underwear. They were transparent and Jael couldn’t help but notice her nips were a bit stiff.

He leaned back slightly as he laid on the bed for a better view wondering if they had hardened because she was undressed or because he was staring.

He lifted his head to see Mauve’s flushed face staring at him. "Don’t look at me like that," she said. "Turn away."

He didn’t reply to this, instead, he smirked and returned his gaze to her body. He knew he wouldn’t care for what she would wear. All he cared about was when he would be able to take it off and unfortunately, that wouldn’t be until sunrise.

Jael adjusted, his pants suddenly felt tight as his fangs tingled. She was right here but somehow she still felt out of reach.

"What would you like to wear, Mauve?" Mill asked.

"We could just wear what I wore for the first meal."

"Absolutely not," Mill said without missing a beat. "But don’t worry I will make sure to pick something comfortable."

"That’s what you said last time. Fine," she gave in easily. Jael could tell she didn’t want to make a scene in front of him. "You can pick the dress."

"All done," Mill announced as she took a step back from where Mauve sat.

He watched Mauve look at her reflection a few times, thanked Mill, and then rose to her feet.

She slowly approached where he sat on the bed but Jael made no attempt to move as he stared at her.

"You said if we are a minute late you’ll change the plans for the second meal but what happens when you’re the reason we are late?" She asked as she stood in front of his legs.

Jael leaned forward and pulled her closer, trapping her between his legs. "Nothing you wouldn’t want to happen." He traced her arm as he spoke.

Mauve blushed, "Stand up," she said and pretended to try to lift him. "We have to go."

"Maybe but I won’t leave this place without a kiss," he said with a straight face.

Jael watched Mauve’s flustered reaction. It was just as he had expected and he tried his hardest to not give this away in his expression.

"Surely, you don’t mean that," she said in horror.

"I really do. I have been through a lot today and I am afraid I do not have any energy left but I am sure a kiss from you will rejuvenate me."

"Jael," she cried. "We don’t have the time for you to play around."

He liked it when she dragged out his name like that. She sounded exasperated, it made him want to get on her nerves even more.

He was surprised he was in a good mood considering all that he had been through and the night wasn’t even halfway yet.

From dealing with Louis to battling with Palers. It was a miracle he had been able to make it back here on time.

He had to wash up as soon as he came back because he had gotten Palers goo all over himself and had stank like a month’s old carcass.

His eyes moved from the top of her face to her bosom. Unfortunately, it was completely covered, which was good. He didn’t need more reasons to cancel the second meal to eat the one in front of him.

"I am sure we do," he replied, looking up at her face. "Besides, it’s just a kiss."

Jael noticed her expression changed a little, he frowned slightly. She closed her eyes and then leaned forward.

He was a bit shocked that he didn’t react immediately. He had not expected her to fulfill his request, let alone in front of Mill.

However, he was only stunned for a millisecond before taking what she was offering. The kiss tasted better than it ever did.
