The Vampire King's Possession -
Chapter 429. Dark Red Dress
Chapter 429: 429. Dark Red Dress
Mauve stood in the middle of her room with a towel around her body. She felt so much better, just a little tired from the journey.
Her hair was wrapped in a towel as she waited for it to dry. She could tell that would take a while. Mill had taken her time to thoroughly help her wash the hair.
She could imagine how dirty it must have been. She had slept in the cave for most of yesterday.
The hot water had also been good for her skin. Her muscles felt less tense and the stiffness in her shoulders wasn’t as bad.
She had wanted to ask Mill to help her put some pressure on them but she didn’t want to stress the vampire any more than she already was.
She twirled her shoulders as she stood in the middle of the room. They would probably feel better as the days went by.
"Would you like to pick what you’d wear?" Mill asked.
Mauve blinked as she looked at Mill, "I don’t know. I think I am fine with whatever you choose."
"Are you sure about that?" Mill said as she threw open the wardrobe.
Mauve gasped, it wasn’t too hard to fake a surprise as the sight of it was still surprising. There was no sign of her old dresses, just brand new ones lined up.
"The dresses?" She asked, looking at Mill with wide eyes.
"Mm-hmm," Mill replied. Mauve didn’t miss the proud look on her face. "I was worried your pretty dresses would go to waste but I guess that won’t be the case." Mill gave Mauve a huge grin.
"They are beautiful," Mauve replied, still in awe as she looked into the wardrobe. The dresses filled every inch of it. There was barely any space for anything else.
Mauve could say without a doubt that this was the most dress she had ever seen in her life and to think it belonged to her. It was almost unreal.
"I know right? Yasmin did a swell job. I had to commend her."
Mauve nodded in agreement, she could see even without taking a closer look that the dresses were neatly made.
"So," Mill smiled brightly at her. "What dress would you like to wear for dinner?"
"I don’t know," she said reluctantly, turning her gaze from the wardrobe and looking at Mill.
"What do you mean you don’t know?" Out of all these dresses? I am sure there is at least one that catches your eye. Don’t be hesitant. Pick one or two or three. We can decide from there."
Mauve thought Mill was a little too excited about this but she wasn’t complaining. She was glad the vampire was just as excited as she was.
"Are you sure about that? I can just wear one of my old dresses."
"I threw them out," Mill replied with a straight face.
Mauve’s eyes widened, "You did?"
"No, I didn’t," she chuckled a little. "I didn’t, I promise."
Mauve found that she wouldn’t be annoyed if Mill threw the old dresses out. They were never hers to begin with. They had simply been adjusted to fit her.
"However, there is no way I will let you wear anything less than these dresses to the last meal. It’s your first meal here in two months. You have to pick something."
"How about you pick for me?" She asked with a smile. "I am sure you will pick something that suits me."
"You won’t argue?" Mill asked with a glint in her eyes.
Mauve rethought her decision at the sight of Mill’s expression. "As long as it’s nothing excessive, you can pick the dress."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes," she nodded.
"Well then if I may."
She stretched out her hand and reached from a dress right in the middle. It was a dark red dress.
Mauve squinted her face, this was already a little too much in her opinion. Mill pulled the dress out completely
"This one," she announced.
Mauve squinted her eyes. "Too much."
"Huh, how? It’s long-sleeved, it’s a dark color and it’s long enough to cover your feet."
"Dark?" Mauve yelled out in horror. "Mill, that’s red."
"Yeah, dark red. A dark color."
"Mill," Mauve said with an unimpressed face.
"Do I have to wear this?" Mauve asked. "I can wear this another time."
"You said I could pick," Mill said. It was obvious she wasn’t going to change the dress.
"Yeah, as long as it’s nothing excessive."
"This isn’t excessive," Mill said looking from the dress to Mauve.
"How is this not excessive?" Mauve asked in horror.
"I promise it’s not."
"Mill, Jael will love it. His favorite color is red."
Mauve didn’t like the way her brows rose as she stored Mill’s information.
She sighed, at this point, there was no better time to wear it. It was just for the last meal and then she would take it off.
"Fine," she said, dragging her feet as she walked to the dresser.
"Yes," Mill replied triumphantly and quickly rushed to her side.
As soon as Mill helped her into the dress and tied the ropes at the back, she knew she had been tricked.
"Mill," she cried in horror as she looked down at the unreasonable amount of cleavage that was out in the open. She didn’t even think she had this much in her.
Also, the dress was long sleeved but it started from her arm, not her shoulders. It was a pretty dress but it didn’t feel like it was for her.
"Too late," Mill said with a little smirk. "We only have enough time for your hair. It would take too long to take this off and find you another dress."
"Mill," she turned to look at Mill with a horrified gaze. "Are you sure about this?"
"Of course I am but if you don’t like it, you can ask Jael and skip the last meal."
She squinted her eyes at the vampire and said down with an exasperated sound. "Fine, fix my hair."
"What do you think?" Mill asked Mauve when she finished with her hair.
"Hmm, I am not sure," Mauve replied.
"Yeah," Mill responded.
"We should take it off."
