The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 272. Enters Lady Jevera

Chapter 272: 272. Enters Lady Jevera

Lady Jevera pushed open the door slowly. Her footsteps were soft as she stepped into the room. She closed the door behind her and immediately bent her head, "Sire."

"Jevera," he said with a click of his tongue. "I didn’t expect to see you so soon. How can I help you?"

"I merely saw you walking through the door and I thought I should welcome you." She said and slowly raised her head.

There was a glint in her eyes and no smile on her lips as she spoke. She was looking at them with defiance as if trying to get some reaction from him.

"There is no need for that and if that’s all, you may leave." He muttered and turned away from her.

He sat back on the bed and threw his torso back so his top was laying on the bed. What did she mean, welcome him? It wasn’t her home, has she finally lost it?

"I apologize for the intrusion but I only came to offer my apologies. If my father had been adamant about the security, you wouldn’t have been in such a terrible situation. I understand the human was harmed and almost didn’t recover."

Jael ground his teeth and fought the urge to not sit back. He didn’t need a reminder, especially from her. He should have known there was an underlying reason why she was here.

"It’s not the fault of Lord Levaton and it was a long time ago. I appreciate your concern lady Jevera, however, it is needless."

He didn’t say a word about Mauve’s recovery, the last thing he wanted to do was to discuss Mauve with her.

"I know it has been a while but unfortunately, I couldn’t offer it before now due to a particular reason."

Jael could hear the attack in her voice, if she was here to try to guilt trip him or anything of the sort, she was making a mistake as he didn’t regret his action.

"Jevera," Jael called darkly, his voice resounding the space. "As I have said, it is needless and if you’ll excuse me, the journey here was quite hectic. If there is anything else you want to discuss, save it. I will hear all about it when I have the time."

Jael sat upright and turned to look at her, she jerked slightly as their gaze met and she immediately bowed her head.

"As you wish, Sire." She said with a bow. "I will inform my father of your presence."

Jael didn’t bother to reply. As much as he would like to know if Lord Levaton was in good health, he didn’t want her spending another minute in the room with him.

She slowly raised her head again and Jael could see the question in her gaze. She looked like she truly wanted to say more but Jael quickly turned his gaze away.

Jevera turned her back to him and opened the door. She walked out of the room without looking back. Jael threw himself back on the bed. The meeting hadn’t even started and he was already getting ticked off.

Less than thirty seconds later, another knock echoed in the room but at least this time it was someone he wanted to see.

"Come in," he replied but didn’t move from the bed.

The door opened and the sound of the creaking door as it was pushed open, reached Jael. He placed his hand under his head as the door closed.

"Sire," Kieran said as he walked in.

Jael didn’t need to look to know that Kieran was bowing as he spoke.

"Damon informed me of your presence and that you wanted to see me. How was the journey here, Sire? I hope you didn’t run into any palers."

"No, unfortunately," Jael replied and sat up. "I hear you arrive just before sunrise."

"Yes," Kieran mumbled and walked closer.

"That’s cutting it too close, Kieran. I could have moved the meeting."

"There was no need for that and the delay was solely my fault. You already asked if it was enough time and I said it was, I shouldn’t have messed up like this. I should be the one apologizing."

Jael sighed, "It’s fine. You’ve done more than enough. Giving you such a task, all by yourself. The fact that you could come up with something useful compared to the past centuries is more than enough."

"You shouldn’t praise me so, I didn’t come up with a definitive solution." Kieran returned.

Jael sighed and immediately frowned. "Join me for the first meal, we will discuss whatever is left then."

As soon as the words left his mouth, a knock echoed.

"I will have to decline, I already ate." Kieran.

Jael groaned, "I am not asking you to join me for the meal. The meeting will probably commence as soon as I am done. I won’t be able to have the conversation before."

"Ah, I understand. I will wait for you there."

"Alright, tell the servants to come in on your way out."

Kieran nodded and bowed again before he walked to the door. Jael ran his fingers through his hair as he watched Kieran leave.

"The Primus will receive you now, You can go in." Jael heard Kieran say.

"Thank you, Lord Kieran," the servants said in unison. Without the door closing, they walked in with bathwater and a tub.

Jael watched them place it in the corner of the room, give him a quick bow, and then hurriedly fled out. Jael got out of the bed and immediately undressed. His clothes pooled at his feet.

Lady Sabrina heard a loud sound, just as the servants helped her take off her clothes. Someone was banging on the door like a raving maniac.

"See who is there," she said and waved her hand.

"Yes, Lady Sabrina." One of her attendants said with a bow. She raised her head and walked to the door.

However, before she could get to it, the door was thrown open. The poor vampire jumped back in fright, clutching her chest.

Red hair strutted into the room, her feet stomping as she walked in.

"Lady Jevera, What are you....?" The words were barely out of the servant’s lips when Sabrina barked orders.

"Out! All of you," she said with authority.

The servants immediately looked uneasy as their gazes moved from Lady Sabrina to Lady Jevera.

Sabrina sighed and then groaned loudly. "This is my house, you know. Just because you’re familiar with the servants doesn’t mean you can order them about. You’re still a guest here."

"I said, out," she repeated.

Sabrina sighed and pointed to the bathrobe. The servant nearest to her moved quickly and handed it to her.

"You may go," she said as she accepted it. "I will wear it myself."

"Yes, Lady Sabrina." The servants said and bowed.

"Lady Jevera," they both said with a quick bow as they rushed past her.

"Don’t go too far," Sabrina called out to them. "I will need you back here, soon enough."

"Yes Milady," they cried out and closed the door.

"So," Sabrina said, slowly rising from her bed as she wrapped the bathrobe around her figure. "What do I owe the honor?"

"Don’t play dumb with me, you know exactly why I am here?"

"As you can see, I am naked and my bath water is turning ice cold. If you don’t state your business, I will call the servant back to wash me up while you stand and watch." Sabrina said and folded her arms.

"You’re happy now, aren’t you? As soon as you know I am out of the picture you don’t waste your time to go to the Castle even after condemning me for such an act."

Sabrina frowned, "Is that what this is about?" She asked, feigning shock. "I can’t believe you interrupted my bath for this."

"I can’t believe you’ll be this shameless," Jevera said and took a step forward.

"I am pretty sure we have established that I am quite shameless," Sabrina smirked.

"Now, if you’ll excuse me. I have to get ready."

"I am not done talking." Jevera retorted.

"What more could you possibly want to say?" Sabrina said with a smirk.

She didn’t have to do this, there was nothing going on with her and the Primus. It was certainly not what Jevera thought. However, she couldn’t help but lead her on.

It wasn’t every day, she saw this part of Jevera, she was always the one flustered and frustrated that Jevera was getting what she deserved.

Even if it was just briefly, she was going to take satisfaction in the fact that Jevera thought she was going after the Primus.

"He is not going to pick you, you know." She said,

"What makes you so sure? Besides, we both know if you really thought that. You wouldn’t be here right now but you don’t think that, do you.?"

It was a facade but Sabrina wanted to see how much reaction she could draw from Jevera before she found out.
