The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 245. So Easily.

Chapter 245: 245. So Easily.

"Stay here with me, the letter can wait." He whispered against her neck, his breath tickling her nape.

Mauve giggled slightly as she blushed, her neck arching to the side a little as she gave him access to her neck.

"I can always come by later," she managed to say even though it was a little hard to gather her thoughts with Jael teasing her.

"You just got here, why are you in a hurry to leave?"

"I am not, I just don’t want to interrupt anything important."

"Hmm. As I have said, the letter can wait." He mumbled as his cold nose nuzzled her ear.

His hand on her stomach slowly made its way up and he gently squeezed. Mauve gasped at the unexpected sensation. She tried to return his hand to her stomach but he held steady.

Suddenly, Jael stiffened and raised his head from her neck. He looked to the door as if expecting someone to come in.

"What is wrong?" Mauve asked with a puzzled expression. She turned her head partially to the side so she could look at Jael’s face.

"Someone is coming," he said distastefully.

Mauve’s spine straightened and she looked to the door. "Who?"

"You will find out soon enough, she should knock soon."

The words were barely out of his mouth when two loud knocks echoed in the study. Jael didn’t stir nor did he say anything.

"Aren’t you going to ask her to come in?" She whispered, afraid whoever was behind the door might hear her voice.

Jael cussed, "Everyone keeps interrupting."

Another knock followed after a few seconds.

Jael squeezed slightly and called out to whoever was behind the door. Mauve heard the sound of the door opening but Jael’s hand was still on her chest. She tried to dislodge it but he wouldn’t let go.

Defeated, she bent her head slightly as she waited for whoever was behind the door to come in.

The door pushed open and Mauve immediately saw straight blond hair walk through the door. She did not even have to think of who it could be, she recognized the hair immediately.

The door was quite some distance from the desk so she couldn’t see Sabrina’s face until she got close enough but she could see the hesitancy in her steps.

"Your Grace," she bowed about five feet away from the desk.

"What is this about?" Jael asked, he sounded irritated.

She took a step forward and Mauve saw something flicker across her expression as she took in the sight before her. Mauve blushed and looked away.

"Sorry to interrupt, Sire, but Danag told me I could find you here."

"And what brings you here? If it’s not urgent, we should discuss this later. "

She gave a soft curtsey, "I apologize for the sudden intrusion but my father told me about the plans to rebuild the fence and I wanted to offer my help to renovate the castle if you will but I did not know Mauve would be here."

"Good to see you again, Lady Sabrina." She said with a grin and a hint of blush on her cheeks.

"I told you Sabrina is just fine."

She felt Jael stiffen behind her as she and Sabrina exchanged pleasantries.

"There is no need to renovate the castle, if there was I would have mentioned it to your father. If there is nothing else you want to add, you may leave." Jael interrupted.

"Of course, Sire. Thank you for seeing me." She bent her knees a little before turning around and heading to the door.

"When did you and Sabrina get so familiar?" Jael said even before the door closed behind Sabrina.

"Recently," Mauve said with glee.

"Hmm," Jael said, returning his attention to her neck. "Don’t trust her so easily."

"Why not?" Mauve spun suddenly giving Jael a mouthful of hair.

"Pfft!" He spat out.

"I am so sorry," she apologized.

"It’s fine," he replied.

"Are you sure?" She asked with a worried expression. "I am sorry."

"I am. Stop apologizing."

"Okay," she said with her head down. "Why did you say I shouldn’t trust her?" As she asked the question, she peeked at him from the corner of her eyes.

Jael squeezed her tighter, "Just because."

"Huh?" Mauve muttered and straightened her neck. "That doesn’t say anything."

"Hmm," Jael said and nuzzled her neck. "You’re so warm."

"You’re changing the subject."

Jael groaned, "I didn’t say you shouldn’t trust her, I said you shouldn’t trust her so easily. Be careful. She wouldn’t dare harm you but I don’t think she’s being friendly out of the goodness of her heart."

Mauve opened her mouth to say something smart but immediately held her tongue and nodded instead. "I will be careful," she added with a soft tone.

"Good," he replied and licked the side of her neck.

"Jael," she squealed with a soft giggle.

Erick rushed up the stairs taking it two at a time. He just came back from patrolling and one of the servants informed him Danag was back.

Without wasting much time, he immediately rushed into the castle and was currently heading to their room.

Erick got to the top of the stairs leading to the King’s study and immediately took a step back as he almost bumped into Sabrina.

"Watch where you are going, you yellow-eyed witch."

"What part of ’don’t speak to me in that manner’ did you not get?" She said staring down at him.

Erick’s eyebrows dipped as he realized where she was coming from. "What are you doing here?" He asked darkly and took a step forward, forcing her to take a step back to avoid them clashing.

Sabrina smirked as her eyes twinkled, "Wouldn’t you like to know?" She edged.

"You wouldn’t dare," he said darkly.

Sabrina flipped her hair, "You are raising your voice. Unless you want me to explain to the King what this is about, you better tone it down a little."

Erick shrank and his eyes darted around to check if anyone was incoming. Erick paused and his face immediately showed contempt as he realized he reacted just as Sabrina wanted.
