The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 238. An Edge.

Chapter 238: 238. An Edge.

"And if I refuse?" Sabrina asked, raising her chest a little as she stepped forward.

"Don’t test me," Erick threatened, holding his ground as he stared down at her.

He was at least five inches taller than she was. He stared menacingly at her. His eyes told her to back off before he made her.

"Or else what? Are you going to tell the King? Want me to tell him how you’re thinking of ways to get rid of the human? I am sure he will be pretty interested." Sabrina smirked wickedly, her eyes gleaming in the dark corner.

Erick’s eyes widened in the dark. "You wouldn’t dare." His expression was a perfect mix of surprise and disbelief.

Sabrina smirked, "Try me."

"You’re in this as much as I am, ratting yourself out wouldn’t help you in the slightest." He folded his arm, smirking at her.

"Am I really ratting myself out? I think it all matters who The King would believe."

"I can’t believe you just said that," Erick said with a snicker. "You think he will believe you over me."

"I don’t think so," Sabrina said with a shrug, her lips making a brief downward motion.

"But it’s the human princess we are talking about. If I can see your hostility, don’t think The King is blind to it. Not to mention your displeasure at Jevera’s banishment." Sabrina chuckled slightly at her use of the word.

Erick’s face became paler as Sabrina’s words hit him. Before he could recover, she continued speaking. "Even if he wants to believe you over me, the attestation confirms otherwise."

Erick didn’t say anything, he didn’t know what to say to her. Anything more would most likely worsen his current situation. When he didn’t respond, she poked his chest, adding "Now, if you’ll excuse me. I have important matters to attend to."

She brushed past him and stopped, turning around slowly. She said, "Lest I forget if you manhandle me like that ever again, I’ll make sure you regret it." She smiled sweetly and blew him a kiss. "Sweet dreams."

As Sabrina walked away, Erick punched the wall and felt it vibrate, he was sure he had busted his knuckles but at least that would heal before the night was completely over.

He made a tight fist, digging his nails into his hands. He fucked up. In a moment of weakness, he had confided in the worst person ever and now it was coming back to bite him in the ass.

"Fuck!" He swore under his breath.

He couldn’t think of any way to fix this and the last person he wanted to have an edge over him was someone like Sabrina. This was not good. Who knows how far she’d be willing to take her control over him?

"Fuck."

Being alone was getting to him, it didn’t help that Danag has been away for over a month now. He still hasn’t gotten over the stress of taking the King’s workload and now he made a blunder like this.

He couldn’t dare tell Danag, The head guard wouldn’t let him hear the end of it. It wasn’t like he wanted to get rid of the princess in that manner but like Sabrina said, who would believe him?

"Fuck!" He swore again. She had him in the palm of her hand. The worst part was he couldn’t predict what she wanted to achieve. If she wanted the King for herself this was the perfect information for her to get closer to him.

She could fuck him over and still tell The King even though she just said she wouldn’t unless he pushed her but she would gain more by giving out this info, he could not see her keeping to her word.

How could he have been so foolish? Jevera would chew out his ears, he wanted to try to fix things but somehow he just made them worse.

He was most concerned about losing his standing with the King. Anything but that. He was the only one willing to take someone like him in and now he might get tossed out.

He couldn’t think of any way to fix this. He would have to tell Danag if he kept this to himself. He needed some kind of support, it didn’t look good for him but at least Danag would believe him.

He would mostly get a scolding from this but at least it wasn’t completely hopeless and he could figure a way out of this.

He let out a breath as he calmed himself down. There was no reason to overreact, he wouldn’t let the witch get to him.

Erick stood straighter as he composed himself. He adjusted his shirt and stepped out of the space underneath the staircase, going around, he climbed it and quickly made his way upstairs.

...

Mauve blinked as she stood outside, it was all bushes and wildflowers but it didn’t take out of the scenery.

It was almost dawn. The day was starting to get bright enough for her to move around without needing any source of light.

There were a few trees scattered around, Mauve wasn’t sure if they bore fruits or what kind of tree they could be. However, nothing looked cared for.

She looked toward Jael, he was leaning against the wall with his arms folded. She smiled at him and his expression didn’t change. He didn’t look very pleased that he was out.

She had been surprised when he offered to accompany her if she wanted to step out. At first, she had been stunned but had immediately accepted.

Instead of going up the stairs to her room, he had led her out the main doors and here they were. She spun around, taking in everything.

She kept forgetting how huge the castle was because she never really saw it from outside often enough.

She moved closer to where he leaned on the wall. "Can I go ask far as that huge tree?" She asked, pointing to a huge tree that was at least twenty feet away from them.

Jael’s eyelids lowered, and only about half his whites were visible. "No," he said darkly.

Mauve’s face immediately fell and she slightly pouted her lips. At first, Jael’s expression didn’t change then she heard a loud sigh.
