The Vampire King's Possession -
Chapter 237. Erick And Sabrina
Chapter 237: 237. Erick And Sabrina
The next person to walk into the hall was Lord Garth. He strutted into the room as the guards held the door open for him. Lady Sabrina was up on her feet as soon as she saw him.
"Father," she said brightly.
"You’re here already, Sabrina."
"Of course, Father." She smiled.
"You could have at least come to fetch me."
"I arrived here too early father, I didn’t want to disturb your rest."
"Ugh, your insistence on me resting is a pain."
He stopped walking and took the seat beside Sabrina.
"Lord Garth," Erick said without moving.
"Erick," Lord Garth returned and then his eyes flickered to Mauve. His gaze didn’t hold, he looked away immediately.
Mauve adjusted in her sit and she prayed Jael would walk in any minute now, she made a mental note to always wait for him.
"Sire isn’t here yet?" Lord Garth commented to no one in particular.
"Not yet but it shouldn’t take long now," Sabrina replied, glancing at Mauve. Mauve held her gaze for a few seconds and the vampire smiled at her.
The door opened and they all turned to look at the door. "Just as I was saying," Sabrina said.
As soon as the words were out of her lips Sabrina stood to her feet, Lord Garth repeated her actions, and Erick but Mauve didn’t make any attempt to move.
"Sire," they said with a soft bow.
Jael walked in with hand-run hair and a scowl on his face. She could see him search for her as he walked in and as soon as his face rested on hers it relaxed a bit.
Mauve felt all fuzzy in her stomach and she tried to hold in her smile. She blushed and looked away only to be met with Lord Garth’s odd stare.
She flinched a little, there wasn’t anything threatening about it but she could tell he didn’t approve of her sitting down as Jael walked in.
He looked away as soon their eyes met. Mauve could tell he didn’t like that part. Lord Levaton had been able to condone her presence. Lord Garth looked like he couldn’t believe they were in the same room.
Jael got closer and sat down. He turned to look at Mauve but she didn’t look at him.
"Thanks for joining us, Sire." Lord Garth said as he sat down.
Jael smiled stiffly, "I hope your rooms are to your liking and you stay comfortable."
Lord Garth nodded immediately, "I couldn’t ask for more."
Jael nodded as the servants started serving out. The last meal was pretty quiet and Mauve ate quickly. She finished eating and was about to leave.
"Wait," Jael said to her.
Mauve had her butt halfway off the chair when she heard his voice.
"I should be done in a few minutes and are you sure that’s enough for you? I’m sure you need more," he said with a twinkle in his eyes.
Mauve held in a gasp at the implication of Jael’s words. "I am fine, I am well fed." She said with a scoff.
"If you insist," he smirked.
Mauve looked up to see a look of horror on Lord Garth’s face. Mauve brought her gaze down immediately.
"Let’s go," Jael said and stood to his feet. She stood up and he grabbed her palm.
"Lord Garth," Jael called suddenly.
"Sire," Lord Garth responded, breaking out of his trance.
"I have important matters to discuss with you after sundown. Have a good rest."
"Thank you, Sire. I will but I don’t mind discussing it right now." Lord Garth said.
"It can’t wait, I can’t pester you on the night of your arrival. Tomorrow would be a much better time."
"As you wish," Lord Garth bowed again.
Jael pulled onto Mauve’s hand and together they walked out of the hall.
Lord Garth watched them leave and he looked like he was about to say something but he didn’t.
...
Lady Sabrina could not believe her eyes. This was even better than she thought. She watched her father have a hard time following what was happening.
He looked like he wanted to say something but somehow he didn’t but just kept watching until they were out the door.
"I will take my leave too, if you need me I’ll be in my room."
She nodded, "Sleep tight, Father. I will drop by your room before I head to mine."
Her father left and without saying a word to her Erick left too. She finished the rest of her meals with a smile on her face.
She wiped her lips and stood to her feet. A servant pulled back her chair and she walked out without saying a word.
The servants bowed to her and she barely acknowledged them. She walked slowly, taking her time to head for the stairs.
Suddenly, she sensed something but before she could figure it out. She was pulled into the darkness.
Sabrina groaned as her back hit the wall. He had pulled her underneath the staircase, away from eye view.
"You vile being!" She screeched at Erick pulling her hand from his grasp. "What do you want?"
"What are you planning, witch?"
"Would you not call me names, especially with that tone."
"Answer me!" He yelled.
"Taking my own advice, since you won’t do it, I will."
"Your plan isn’t going to work and I really don’t care but you don’t get to talk to me like that, especially in front of her."
"Does the human impression of you bother you?" She smirked.
"Shut up, I know you’re planning something."
"Of course, I already told you."
"No, something else. You wouldn’t tell me."
"No, I’m not," Sabrina said sweetly. "You want to think I’m planning something but I assure you it’s all in your head. Even without your help, I am going to see what I can do by myself."
"Stop it!" Erick said darkly.
"What do you mean, stop it?" Sabrina asked with a frown.
"You know exactly what I mean. Whatever this is, stop it!"
"And if I refuse?" Sabrina asked, raising her chest a little as she stepped forward.
