The Vampire King's Possession -
Chapter 180. Her Lust
Chapter 180: 180. Her Lust
"Saying you’re not the most courageous doesn’t make you less courageous. You almost died, you should take some credit for your willingness to dash out into the wild again despite the risk. Besides, I think it takes a lot of courage to leave your home to come all the way out here and stay with a bunch of vampires."
"Oh," Mauve said, a little shocked at Mill’s reply. "Thank you." She looked away, the tips of her ears and neck were a little red.
Technically, she didn’t have a choice at the time but she was not going to concentrate on that right now.
"Besides, don’t pay any mind to my question. I’m sure there won’t be a repeat of this." Mill said, looking at her intensely. "You’re safe. This was merely an unfortunate accident. His grace won’t let it happen again."
"Thank you, Mill." She nodded.
She squeezed her shoulders gently. An unfortunate accident was a nice way to phrase it, considering she has never been very fortunate. She wasn’t the kind to dwell on her misfortunes and she didn’t plan to do so now.
"It was my pleasure, get some rest, Mauve. I will leave you. Please don’t hesitate to call me if you need anything."
The vampire turned and headed for the door. After a glance toward Mauve, she opened the door and walked out of the room.
Mauve watched Mill leave the room and she heard a sigh escape her lips. It was quickly replaced with a smile.
She didn’t think Mill felt that way about her but it definitely felt very nice to be complimented and by a vampire at that.
Even though a huge part of her couldn’t help but think Mill’s words were misplaced with her, she was only going to dwell on the bright part.
She couldn’t be feeling down now. Not when she had a more draining task to do. Knowing Jael, he wouldn’t want her to leave anytime soon but right now, she would rather be where she was familiar with, where she could somewhat call home.
She slid downward and placed her head on the pillow. She looked toward the candle and watched as it melted onto the candle stand. She had to make sure she was awake by the time he came in.
If she couldn’t catch him now, he would probably be gone before awoke. She rolled on her good side and covered herself with the sheets. She hoped he would not take too long to get here.
Mauve was dozing off when she heard the door open, her eyes flew open immediately but she closed it and didn’t move. The door closed and did not hear any footsteps but she could tell he was coming closer to her.
"I did not expect you to be awake," he said, his voice sounding closer than she had expected.
She jerked around, "How did you know I was awake?" She asked with awe in her voice.
He was standing next to the bed looking down at her. He had his back to the light so she could not really see his face but she could tell he was staring intensely at her.
"I have told you this before. Your breathing sounds different when you are asleep and I can hear your heart beating fast. Did something happen?"
Mauve shook her head and sat upright. "I was about to fall asleep before you came in."
"I see," he said and slipped into bed. "My bad, I should have walked in more silently." He rested his head on the bed and looked at her through the side of his eyes.
"That almost sounds like you particularly don’t want me to wake up. I don’t mind if you wake me up. Besides, all I do is sleep all day so it’s not like I am not getting enough sleep."
She looked at her hands as she spoke, not being able to look at him as she wondered if he could see right through her.
"Still," she could his eyes on the back of her neck. "You should get as much rest as you need without me interrupting your sleep."
Mauve shrugged and glanced at him, "How did it go? You look tired."’
Jael looked away from her, his eyes glowing slightly as he ran his hands through his hair. "I am tired."
"What happened?" She asked, turning to face him completely.
He looked at her with a raised brow. "You should worry about yourself." Jael stretched out his hand and touched her hair.
"Are you saying I should not worry about you?" She asked with a glare.
"No, I am saying there is nothing for you to be worried about me." He pulled himself off and leaned against her, putting his nose to her neck.
She felt him take a deep breath and she instinctively leaned toward him as his hand went up her back. She could feel his cold palm through the thing material. A soft sound escaped her lips. He slipped the arm on her back around and pulled her down with him. She gasp as she fell on the bed with him, a little shocked at the unexpected pull.
"You should go back to sleep. I know I interrupted your sleep but you should not use it as a reason to not go to sleep." He said as she landed on his chest.
"I am not that sleepy." She pouted and adjusted so she was comfortable in his arms.
She was a little disappointed, she had half expected him to kiss her but someone she could tell that was not going to happen. Since the last time, he has avoided going too far with her.
She wanted to ask about it but there was no way she could. No matter how courageous she could pretend to be, it was a different case to ask about that. She couldn’t imagine words she would use.
"Are you okay?" He asked and touched her head. "You suddenly became warmer."
"I am okay," she replied blushing harder. She was embarrassed that he could sense her lust.
