The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 130. A Vampire Wife

Chapter 130: 130. A Vampire Wife

"No, not at all. It is absolutely right. I love your garden, I just didn’t think he would tell you." She mumbled and looked at her feet.

"I see, well you have my permission to check it for as long as you like. The compound is safe so you can be rest assured you will be too."

"Thank you," Mauve responded with a huge smile on her face.

Mauve still didn’t know what to think about Lord Levaton, he was nice to her but somehow she could not help but be a little wary of him. His bright aura often gave off dark undertones.

"You may leave, the servant outside will show you the way and when you are ready he will lead you back to your chambers."

Mauve stood to her feet and gave Lord Levaton a proper curtsey. Thank you so much, she said beaming at him. Standing to her full height, she headed for the door.

"Princess," Lord Levaton suddenly called out to her just before she could reach the door.

Mauve stopped in her tracks and turned around completely to look at him. ’Yes, your lordship," she replied politely, she was still smiling.

"Do you think you are a good enough mate for our King?"

Mauve felt every fiber of her being shut down at this question. She brought her hands together, "I don’t understand your question," she said and looked to the side.

"I am sure you do. You know Jael will be required to take on a mate. What do you guys call it? Ah yes, a vampire wife. I don’t expect you to object as you are human, you can’t be his mate."

Mauve bent her head, "I don’t think I have a say in these matters."

"I know," Lord Levaton said and stood to his feet. "I am just checking to make sure you are aware of your situation."

Mauve felt cold and instinctively took a step back. She didn’t know what to say to him so she just kept her head down.

"Princess," he called. "Do you have any objection to his grace taking on a vampire mate?" He asked closing the gap between them.

Mauve swallowed, it was hard to process her thoughts. Well, she had not had a reason to think about this but she also did not see the vampires accepting her so it made sense if...

"I am aware of my situation," she managed to say.

"That’s not an answer," he muttered.

Mauve squeezed her dress tighter as her eyes watered. She could not comprehend why he would want her response. It won’t change anything and it was completely uncomfortable for her to have to answer.

"I am fine with whatever Jael wants, I don’t have any objection." She said, she could feel her heart beating fast. She could swear it was about to jump out of her chest.

Lord Levaton pinched the bridge of his nose. "This is getting nowhere. You may leave."

She bowed again and slowly turned around. She couldn’t say anything as she turned her back to him. She opened the door to find the servant who had escorted her here, standing just outside the door.

He did not say anything to her, he just started walking away. She followed after him. The walk to the garden felt longer for some reason. He didn’t take her through the front, instead, they went toward the side.

If she wasn’t in such a dreary mood, she would have considered it some kind of tour but it wasn’t. She knew she wasn’t welcome here and probably wouldn’t be welcome anywhere else except Jael’s castle.

She didn’t want to think about what Lord Levaton had just told her, she knew she would have to address this issue and how she felt about it but not right now. She doubted her heart could take it.

She was going to enjoy the garden trip and then be out of here by sundown and hopefully forget all about what she heard.

She had lied to Lord Levaton. Of course, she had a problem with it. The idea made her stomach churn so hard that she didn’t want to think about it. She was surprised she wasn’t bursting into tears.

She knew why, she already considered the possibility of this besides, she was supposed to be a figurehead. A stand-in for the treaty. She wasn’t exactly anything to him by vampire standards.

"If you will go this way," the servant said to her. "The door is a few feet ahead of you. It is unlocked so you shouldn’t have any problems opening the door."

"Thank you," Mauve said and walked ahead. She didn’t turn around, she just walked forward, and as the servant had said, a door appeared. She pulled it and it obeyed, it didn’t even strain her to open. It also didn’t make any creaking sounds, unlike the door that led to her garden.

She smiled sadly, blinking rapidly at the bright sunlight that poured out. Mauve smiled brightly and forgetting her problem she ran out into the garden while spinning around. It really was beautiful.

Tears poured down her face but she quickly wiped them away as she came to a full stop. She stood admiring the view.

The garden took up a huge space, there were flowers, trees, and some plants she had never seen before. She touched every single one of them while being careful not to harm them.

Mauve stood to her feet, the edge of her dress had twigs and leaves on them. This was completely her fault, she kept bending low to admire the flowers of course this was bound to happen.

Mauve found herself walking away from the garden, she walked further down. Lord Levaton’s estate was a huge space. She could barely see the walls from where she stood. If she had not seen the fence on her way in, she would have assumed there wasn’t any.

Mauve got to the edge of the castle and gasped. Aside, from the castle, there were different houses spread downwards. They weren’t as big as the main castle but she could immediately tell they were occupied.

She wondered what kind of vampires lived there and she couldn’t help but be impressed with the surroundings. Not only was it well kept but the space wasn’t just left empty. Farms and houses were all over the place.

Mauve frowned as she wondered if she could do the same to the compound. It will definitely give her something to do. If he let her but she would need servants to help and a lot of other things.

Mauve held her head as her mind churned. Now was not the time to think about this. She should probably head back inside. She quickly made her way back the way she came and soon came to the door.

She pushed it and it opened, not that she had expected it to be locked but a part of her had considered the thought of that. She carefully closed the door behind her.

She frowned, she did not see the servant. Not that she had been expecting him to still be waiting for her as she had taken quite some time but there was no way she could easily make her way back.

She walked forward and bumped into someone. "You guys really can’t see in the dark." The vampire said peering into her face.

Mauve gasped and moved backward, it wasn’t that dark but considering she had spent that amount of time out in the sun, it is no surprise, her vision was fuzzy.

"Lady Jevera," she said and blinked a couple of times, hoping it would help her sight.

Her bright hair and pale face were instantly recognizable as they appeared in front of her face. There was also the voice.

"I can’t believe he picked this feeble thing. It is so annoying that I can never guess what is going on in his head but one thing I know is this won’t last. Whatever this is."

Mauve grabbed her dress tightly, she didn’t understand a bit of what was going on here. She just kept mum and kept her head down.

"However," Lady Jevera said with a smirk. "I am curious to see how this pans out. He truly thinks you will suffice, I think not. Anyway, I am rooting for you. Try to hold out as best as you can. I doubt it will be for long. You see Jael has his whims and is as impulsive as they come."

She grabbed her hand and Mauve yelled in fright.

"Quiet down, even I won’t go out of my way to harm you. I don’t need to do that, I don’t have high hopes for you. I told the servant to retire. I am taking you to your room. You won’t be able to find your way otherwise."

Mauve nodded and mumbled, "Thank you."

"Don’t thank me, I hate your guts and everything you stand for."
