The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 131. What Would Happen To Her?

Chapter 131: 131. What Would Happen To Her?

"Don’t thank me, I hate your guts and everything you stand for," Jevera muttered darkly.

She did not know why she was here. She had been very angry after Jael had visited her and thought to take out her anger on the human. However, she had taken one look at the puny thing fumbling in the dark and had even been more angry but this time at herself.

She did hate her but she was embarrassed that she had considered the human a threat. She couldn’t run, couldn’t fight, couldn’t even protect herself. There was also the fact that minor injuries for vampires could be fatal for the puny thing and she had thought the human was good enough to replace her.

She touched her head and chuckled a little. "I must be delusional," she said out loud for Mauve to hear.

Lady Jevera looked back at the human who wasn’t saying anything, she was just following behind her diligently. Jevera turned her head forward.

A decade of this was enough to kill her soul. It was better that he ended it, she doubted she would have been able to do it herself. Well, it wasn’t like it was much of a relationship.

Now that she thought about it she didn’t think there was any reason she had wanted to be his mate aside from the fact that he was king. It had made sense at the time and it still did but it would be foolish of her to think she still had a chance.

If ten years didn’t make a difference, what would? She shook her head, she had been so fixated on getting with Jael that she had not considered herself and her feelings.

She wasn’t giving up, she just thought it was high time she stopped chasing him herself, he knew where to find her. She smirked. A flash of Jael picking Sabrina over her caused her to tighten her grip.

"Aw!" Mauve screamed.

She didn’t even turn to look at Mauve. Jael said he wasn’t picking a mate soon, besides, there was nothing appealing about Sabrina. She hoped.

"Go up this flight of stairs. You should recognize the door, it is on this floor." She pointed to the top of the stairs and Mauve nodded.

"Thank you so much."

Jevera glared at Mauve and she quickly turned her gaze away. She couldn’t go up the stairs, Jael would sense her immediately.

Jevera watched the stairs as the human went up them, looking like she would fall at any point. She could blame Jael for always keeping the human by his side, at this point, she was sure it was for her safety.

She frowned as she turned away. What was she thinking? She should go to bed, the sun was definitely affecting her.

...

Mauve’s hands shook as she walked up the stairs. She just wanted to drop into bed and fall asleep. She was mentally and physically exhausted. She was trying her best not to think about what Jevera had said. Pushing it to the recess of her mind as hard as she could.

She could pretend that she didn’t understand what had just happened but it wouldn’t help her case. She knew about his relationship with her, she wasn’t stupid. She couldn’t pretend, she didn’t have a clue.

More importantly, she had also seen the way he cast her aside. Would he do the same when he was tired of her? It was bad enough that he would have to take up a vampire mate but what would happen to her if he grew bored?

She stopped in front of the door as she tried to process her thoughts. She wasn’t sure he could go in there, he would see her distress immediately.

The door flew open and Mauve’s eyes widened. She looked up to see Jael looking down at her. He was shirtless as usual, he ran his hand through his hair as she stared at her, his expression unreadable.

He moved forward, closing the gap between them. "Are you okay?" He asked, his blue eyes gleaming in the dimly lit path.

Mauve felt her heart squeezed, he could have at least been a little bit ugly. It wasn’t fair on her heart that he was this good-looking.

"Yes," she said, forcing a smile. "I was just tired from walking up the stairs."

He glared at her, "That’s your fault for taking forever." He picked her up and shut the door.

"I can walk," she squealed.

"Yeah, that’s why you were panting by the door."

"I wasn’t panting," she threw back.

"Did you forget I can hear you breathe?"

Mauve immediately covered her mouth with her hands.

His eyes turned to slits, "Did you just hold your breath?"

She turned away.

"It doesn’t matter, your heart is still beating very hard."

Mauve moved her hands to her chest and Jael immediately looked unimpressed.

"That doesn’t make any difference."

She pouted and placed her head on his chest, her hands falling to the side. It was a good thing he couldn’t read her thoughts.

"I thought you wouldn’t take that long but I guess I was wrong," his voice sounded a little down as he spoke. "The water is cold now," he said pointing to the tub that was in the corner of the room. "I will ask the servants to bring more water."

The servant appeared quickly, a lot too quickly in Mauve’s opinion. She was still in Jael’s hands, she tried to wiggle out of his grip but he wouldn’t let her go.

"Take this away and bring me new bath water. Make sure it’s hot!" He ordered.

The servant nodded vigorously and walked into the room. Mauve watched him effortlessly carry the tub and she wondered just how strong vampires were.

The door closed behind the servant and she looked at Jael. "Put me down, please." She said,

"I rather not," he replied nonchalantly.

She glared at him. "Well then put me on the bed at least. It is a little weird just standing beside it with me in your arms."

"I am not complaining." He muttered.

"Well, I am."

He sat on the bed but still held onto her.

Mauve sighed loudly.

"You whine as if you hate me carrying you."

"Almost," she said.

"I see," he said darkly.

She groaned, "It is not like I hate it. You just carry me like a child. It makes me feel small."

"But you are small," he said with a straight face.

Mauve’s mouth fell open but before she could reply a knock was heard. "Come in," Jael said above her words.

The door threw open and two servants walked in. They moved briskly, placing the tub in the corner and running off almost immediately.

He carefully placed her on the ground as he took her clothes off. She stood between his legs while he remained on the bed. Mauve felt her face redden as her clothes fell off her shoulders. It didn’t help that she could see his every move and the desire in his eyes as he undressed her.

He took his time and Mauve felt her body grow hot. After taking her dress off, he then slowly began to take off her underwear.

She stood in front of him bare and she felt his eyes ravish her. He cupped her bosom and Mauve shivered, it took everything to moan out loud. Her chest was sensitive from being wrapped all day.

He rubbed his finger over her nipples and she gasped. "Does it hurt?" He asked with a smirk.

Mauve resisted the urge to smack him. He knew it didn’t hurt. "You know it doesn’t."

"Do I now?" He asked softly as his fingers continued to tease her.

Mauve closed her eyes tightly. Her legs staggered a little and she felt his hand move up to her waist. He held her steady as he took his hand away from her chest.

She suddenly remembered that she didn’t thank him for letting her go the see the garden. "Thank you for letting me see the garden during the day." She suddenly said.

Jael frowned and then shrugged, "You looked like you had to see it."

"Well, I wouldn’t have died if I didn’t." His attitude annoyed her.

"I highly doubt that, besides, you were so moody, what else could I do?"

"I wasn’t moody!" She yelled.

He immediately pulled her onto his lap, brought his lips down, and kissed her. "I don’t think now is the time for that. I will listen to your bickering when I have had my full."

Mauve’s eyes widened. Did he intend to do it now? "The water will get cold!" She yelled as she looked for an excuse.

"No, it won’t." He said with a smirk. "Besides, I am sure it is too hot for your to bathe with."

Mauve glared at him, she had not thought about it when he asked for hot water instead of the usual warm. Before she could reply he covered her lips with his.
