The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 119. The View

Chapter 119: 119. The View

Mauve got to the front of her door panting as though she had been chased. She had nobody but herself to blame as she had practically run the entire way here. Her ears were still ringing from his words but she pushed them to the back of her mind as she turned the handle of her room’s door and stepped in.

She sat on the bed and waited, Mill should be here any moment to help her settle in for the night. Even though she was dying to see the sunrise, she didn’t want to piss off a certain vampire again.

She undid the knot she had used to tie her hair, she could swear it was blocking all the blood flow to her brain which would probably explain her earlier reaction.

A soft knock disrupted her thoughts and she stood from the bed. She walked to the door and turned the handle to open it.

"Mauve," Mill said, she sounded surprised. "You didn’t have to open the door."

"It’s fine," she said and stood to the side to let Mill in. "I needed the excuse to stand up."

"Oh alright." She walked past Mauve with the bath.

Mill placed it on the ground just as Mauve closed the door and walked closer to Mill. She stood still as Mill helped her out of her clothes. She stepped into the water and Mill proceeded to gently wash her entire body.

"Mauve," Mill called. "You can step out now."

She gently lifted herself and stepped out of the bath, dripping water onto the floor as Mill hurriedly wiped her dry. Her hair was wrapped in a towel and Mill tied another towel around her chest.

"Let me pick your nightdress," she mumbled and stepped away from Mill.

"Mill," Mauve called, stopping Mill in her tracks.

"Yes," she said and looked back at Mauve.

Mauve tried to keep a straight face but the red tint on her cheeks was failing her and she knew it had nothing to do with the hot water. She gripped the towel as she tried to force the words out.

"There is no need for that."

Mill frowned a little, it was obvious she didn’t quite understand what Mauve meant. "I shouldn’t bring out the nightdress."

Mauve nodded.

"The weather isn’t exactly warm out. I wouldn’t recommend sleeping without any clothes." She mumbled.

Mauve looked away, her face was burning. "Ah, I know. I... Jael..."

"Oh, of course." She cried out. "Should I take care of your hair then?"

Mauve nodded, grateful that she didn’t have to explain further, it was already embarrassing as it is. She carefully made her way to the dresser and sat and Mill rolled her hair out of the towel and gently began to brush.

Mauve finished and took the bath water with her as she left the room leaving Mauve still seated on the dresser. Her hair was once again wrapped in the towel, Mill wanted it to be dry enough for her to go to bed.

After a while, Mauve pulled off the towel. Her hair wasn’t dry but at least it wasn’t going to drip all over her pillow, thankfully.

She gripped her towel tighter, as she stared hard at the bed. There was no way she would get into bed on purpose without any sort of clothing on.

She stood to her feet while making sure the towel was tight enough to not come undone and then got into bed. She pulled the sheets over her body, making sure only her head was sticking out.

Mauve did not know how long she lay there gripping the sheet before she heard the connecting door open. She knew he was walking toward her but the fact that she couldn’t hear his footsteps was a bit annoying.

He didn’t say a word, he just got under the sheets and lay beside her even though he knew she was awake.

"I thought I said no clothes," he said as his hands moved over her body.

"It’s a towel," she mumbled and looked away from him.

"Ah, to think you actually did it." He said and tugged at it, loosening it.

"That’s because you threaten to rip it off." She turned her head back suddenly to look at it.

Mauve closed her eyes quickly as she realized her face was inches from his.

"Did I, now?" He asked and closed the distance, shutting off whatever reply she may have had.

His hands roamed all over her body and Mauve succumbed into his embrace without any fight as her body warmed to his cold touch.

(...)

Mauve laid her head on Jael’s chest listening to his unsteady heartbeat. The haphazard rhythm was throwing her off. She was flushed from head to toe. The space between her legs was still tingling and she knew she wouldn’t be able to walk even if she tried.

Surprisingly she didn’t feel tired and she knew she wouldn’t be able to fall asleep for a while. She traced Jael’s chest with her finger as she listened to his heartbeat.

"What do you think about traveling?" He asked her.

"Traveling?" She frowned, wondering what this was about, and in less than a second she came up with different bad conclusions.

"Yes," he said without elaborating. She found that about him very annoying.

"Am I traveling alone?" She asked, her voice a bit low. Where was she being sent off to?

"No, you’re coming with me." He said absentmindedly.

She pressed against his chest with both her palms as she lifted herself. With bright wide eyes, she looked into his face and yelled, "We are traveling."

"Jeez! Not so loud, Mauve. I take that as a yes, then."

His blue eyes were staring intently at her face and once again Mauve could swear he could see into her soul. She wondered what he was searching for as his eyes watched hers.

"Yes," she squealed. "Where are we going?" Her eyes twinkled as she stared at him.

He gently pressed her head back to his chest. "You wouldn’t know it if I told you."

"Jael," she whined.

"Fine. Levaton’s residence."

"Oh," she said and immediately deflated. She thought it sounded familiar but couldn’t think of where she had heard the name from.

"Do you know who that is?" He asked.

She shook her head, "No I don’t." She pouted, annoyed that she proved his point.

"I told you, you wouldn’t." She could hear the smirk in his voice.

She hit his chest with the side of her closed palm. "Still doesn’t mean I don’t want to know where we are going. What are we going to do there?" She asked.

"We are going to see an old vampire," he sneered.

"And it is fine if I follow you?" She asked, surprised.

"Yes, what seemed to be the problem?"

"Nothing, I was just wondering. When are we leaving?" She raised her head again, her excitement was back.

Jael gently pressed her head back down. "In a couple of nights."

"Jael," she said slowly. "How am I going to get ready if I don’t know exactly when we are going?"

He sighed, "Don’t worry about it, Mill will take care of that."

She hit him again.

"In four nights," he said.

"That’s not too far," she mumbled to herself. "How long will we be there?" She asked.

"I don’t know but I do know we can’t return the same night. At most, we will spend two days there but I will prefer it if we spend one."

"Oh, you don’t like there very much?" She asked, concerned.

"It’s not that," he said and raised her head. "However, you seem to have too much energy and here I thought you’d fall asleep soon."

Mauve’s eyes widened, "Jael," she cried but she didn’t protest when he kissed her.

He pressed her warm body against his and she immediately reached for the back of his head. "I thought you said you were tired," he smirked at her lips.

"I am," she mumbled. "That won’t stop you, would it?" She asked looking down as she couldn’t bare to look into his eyes.

He held her tighter, "I am glad we are on the same page."

He raised from the bed and laid over her. She could see his eyes going over her body as he stared hard at her. Mauve reddened instantly. You would think she had gotten used to his stare by now.

"Would you stop staring so hard?" She blurted.

"Why would I? I like the view. Besides, you always look so flustered when I do that I can’t help but tease you." He said and took a nip into his mouth.

Mauve gasped and arched her back. He took it out and moved back up as his mouth took hers again. He kissed her hard and she kissed his back, wrapping her legs around her.

He slipped in easily, riding her to ecstasy as she clung to him, feeling herself fall over the edge again.
