The Vampire King's Possession
Chapter 112. Sabrina

Chapter 112: 112. Sabrina

Lady Sabrina finished the last of her food but didn’t make any attempt to leave the table as she exchanged glances with Lady Jevera. Lady Jevera however, was taking her time even though it was obvious Lady Sabrina wanted to speak to her.

At this point, it was just Lady Jevera, Lord Erick, Lady Sabrina, and her sister Lady Helana who remained at the table. Unable to take it anymore, Lady Sabrina adjusted in her seat and faked a cough drawing Jevera’s attention but the vampire simply raised her head and then returned her attention to her meal.

"Jevera, may I have a word with you?" Sabrina asked.

"Sure," she mumbled, her words sounding slightly muffled.

"In private," her voice was slightly raised.

Jevera dropped her to the plate but did not let go of it, "As you can see, I am eating."

"Well, eat faster."

Jevera glared at her, "If it is that important let it out. I am not going to speed up my meal simply because you ask me to."

"Fine, take your time." Sabrina folded her arms and leaned back into her chair.

"Why do I feel like you are stalling on purpose?" She asked after a few minutes have passed.

"It is your imagination," Jevera replied without looking at Sabrina. "And it is uncomfortable to eat if you keep staring at me like that."

After what felt like eons to Sabrina, Jevera picked up the napkin and wiped the corners of her lips. Lord Erick had already excused himself and it was just the three of them. Sabrina pushed her chair back and immediately stood to her feet. She went round the table to where Lady Jevera was and pulled her to her feet.

"What are you doing?" Jevera exclaimed.

"Helana," she said to her sister. "Wait for me in our room, I should be there soon."

Her sister nodded and walked out of the dining room

"Well, since your sister has gone we can discuss it here," Jevera said and pulled her hands from Sabrina’s grasp.

"No, we are going to your room."

"I am sorry what? No." Jevera exclaimed.

"Humor me, Jevera. This is important." her voice had a serious tone to it.

Jevera sighed, "This better be important." As soon as the words left her lips, she headed toward the door and Sabrina followed closely behind her.

Jevera took her time climbing up the stairs even though she could feel Sabrina’s urgency. She was not curious as to what this was about as she could guess. She would rather not discuss it and has been doing everything she can to avoid this but knowing Sabrina, she was not going to let it go unless Jevera gave her what she wanted.

"Can’t you go any faster?" Sabrina whined.

"Sabrina, you know where my room is. if my pace annoys you, make your way there and wait for me." Jevera muttered, her irritation evident in her voice.

Sabrina smirked, " You definitely not going to play that trick on me. If I do that, I will wait forever, you won’t come to your room until it is time for me to leave."

"Oooh," Jevera said feigning ignorance. "What gave you that idea? Sabrina, do you not trust me?"

"I trust you as much as you trust me. Not a lot is it?"

"Fine, let’s get this over with. Talking to you drains me of life." Jevera said and opened her door.

"You are mean..."

"Why does this have to happen in my room, we could have discussed this anywhere else." Jevera interrupted and took a seat on the nearby couch.

"Where else would we use? Where am I supposed to sit?"

"Stand! What is this about?" Jevera asked with a frown.

"At least let me get comfortable first," Sabrina sneered at her and sat on the bed.

Jevera’s eyes turned to slits, "It is my fault for humoring you."

"Calm down. What was that all about?"

"What? If you are not explicit, I can’t magically guess what you are going on about?"

"Why didn’t you tell me?" Sabrina asked and leaned forward.

Jevera did not look impressed. "Tell you what and if you ask another question without content, I will send you out of here."

"I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about. However, as you won’t answer me otherwise I will be as explicit as possible. Why did you not tell me about the human?"

Jevera arched her head to the side, "What about her?"

"Are you blind or you are just playing dumb? To say you don’t see it is a lie Jevera."

Jevera stood to her feet, "Don’t you think you are worried about unnecessary things, Sabrina."

"I don’t think I am."

"Really? Then tell me your concerns and then tell me why you think they are important."

"Don’t use that condescending tone on me." Sabrina blurted out.

"Why not? I can tell you are about to say something stupid."

"It is not stupid that I think something is going on between the King and the human." Sabrina protested.

"It is not. It is stupid that you think whatever is going on between them is important enough for discussion. There has never been a human mate and it won’t start with the Sire."

"Hmm,"’ Sabrina said and stood to her feet. "You sound a little too confident, Jevera. Do you have something up your sleeves perhaps? Is that why you have been trying your very best not to give me a chance alone with the Sire? Afraid that I will ruin your plan?" She took a step forward.

"Are you done here?" Jevera asked, expressionless. "If you are, then leave my room."

"Don’t get your lingerie up in a twist, I was just about to leave."

She walked past Jevera and walked out the door. As soon as she closed the door behind her, she sensed a presence and looked up to see Jael coming down the stairs.

"Your grace!" Sabrina yelled, her voice going a few notches higher. "I didn’t expect to run into you so quickly." She was smiling brightly as she rushed to him.

He looked at her with a blank expression and did not say anything.

Sabrina chuckled awkwardly, "My father is in the drawing room. He went as soon as the second meal was over."

He nodded and passed her but still did not say a word. She rushed after him.

"I was wondering if I could have a quick word."

Jael didn’t stop, and neither did he slow down. "Not now, Lady Sabrina. I must have a word with your father." He said without looking at her.

Sabrina stopped walking and just looked at him as he walked away, "Okay," she mumbled, softly. The human scent on him was a little worrisome.
