Chapter 367: I Won’t Be Lazy

Months passed by so quickly, and Raine soon became active in assisting Mara in handling affairs and operations of the Moonlight Squad in the background. Through all of this, she of course continued doing her best to be a mother to Aire. Her father Lark also got involved with the operations. The latter refused to let Mara get into action without him making sure that his daughter was safe and away from harm at all times.

"Hmm... I feel like I owe your father so much right now," Raine murmured as she nuzzled her nose into her baby’s cheeks. She had just given Aire a bath, so her daughter was extra cuddly at the moment. "How about I make it up to him for the night? What do you think, my dear daughter? Will you be alright if I left you in the care of your Aunt Mara and Grampa Lark in the meantime?"

If her calculations were correct, this was around the month where she and Nathan could have their second baby, their son Umbriel. The thought of having another intimate moment with her husband after being deprived of it for months now made her giggle in excitement.

Thoughtfully, she wondered where she should take Nathan next. She wanted to make sure that he would enjoy his time with her. Her husband deserved that much after being such a wonderful husband, father, brother-in-law, son-in-law... etcetera etcetera. In short, he was just a wonderful man in every aspect!

Thinking about the date, Mara and her father would be free for the next three days starting today. Knowing that, she could probably take this time to take a break with Nathan and surprise him. Aire was four months old now, and she was much more behaved and less handy now compared to her first three months. She could also feed in her own bottle now, having been alternating between formula milk and breastfeeding for some time now.

"You have to behave while Mommy and Daddy make your baby brother, alright?" Raine chuckled, winking at Aire before she put her daughter back in her crib.

With her hands free, Raine began browsing and searching for something she could do for her husband. Unfortunately, she couldn’t think of something that would suit her needs.

"Damn..." she huffed with a pout. "How come I lack sweetness and creativity when it comes to these types of things?"

She was still deep in thought when her door suddenly swung open.

"Sis!" Mara barged her way inside, her excitable nature making her yell aloud. "I have some free time today and the next three days. Let’s all go camping!!!"

’Camping! Right!’ Raine mused! She and Nathan hadn’t tried camping together yet. It would be fun doing it with him.

"What do you say, Sis?" Mara excitedly asked.

Raine had a wide smile as she stared at Mara. "Yes, that’s great! Nathan and I will go camping, while you and Father take care of Aire while Nathan and I are away!"

"Huh? What?" Mara frowned, realizing what her twin had just said.

Raine chuckled as she cupped Mara’s face. "Hmm... Just this once, my dear sister, please? I’ll make it up to you once we come back, I promise!" she pleaded with her puppy dog eyes.

Seeing her sister’s insistence, Mara’s shoulders slumped as she murmured, "Fine... You and Brother-in-law had been working nonstop lately anyway. You two deserve a vacation." She gave her twin a determined smile, "Don’t worry about Aire. Father and I will definitely take care of our cute little baby. When do you plan to leave?"

"Now," Raine excitedly announced. "I’ll ask the servants to prepare some of the things we need while I go pick up Nathan from his office..."

Hours passed, and Raine finally arrived at the Yue Building to pick up her husband. She didn’t bother to go into the building. Instead, she just called Nathan to come down and meet her since she was picking him up.

After a few minutes, she smiled upon seeing her husband’s knitted brows as he boarded the rover car.

"What’s going on?" he murmured as he put on his seatbelt.

"We’re going camping..." Raine remarked with a grin as she stepped on the gas and got back on the road.

"This is kind of sudden... but I like the idea," Nathan chuckled. "In fact, I’m starting to feel bad that you first thought of the idea and made the arrangements before I could."

"Well, better luck next time then," Raine scoffed.

"How about I drive instead?" Nathan offered.

Raine smiled as she simply offered her available hand to him. "Nah. Just hold onto my free hand while I drive. Let me do these small things for you every once in a while."

It was the least she could do for him. Nathan had been really a good husband to her, putting up with her tantrums, not to mention how he had been pampering her nonstop throughout her pregnancy and early days after birth. Today, she would be the one to do the pampering to the best of her abilities.

"So where are we going?" Nathan curiously asked, his naughty lips showering her knuckles with kisses. She giggled at the sensation of his trimmed beard and mustache brushing against her skin. The fact that they added a more roguish touch to his handsome look only helped in uplifting her mood even further.

"Hmm... At the nearest romantic spot near the Capital City to camp," Raine replied with a grin, keeping her answer vague to not give away the location.

After just an hour of driving, they finally arrived at Mount Mirage National Park.

Nathan chuckled, "I knew it..."

"What? This is a good spot, right? There’s a dormant volcano looming high above the surrounding landscape, and it’s just picturesque all around," Raine said with a grin as she excitedly got out of the car. "Come on. Let’s take the liberty to be the first to see what’s there to explore, shall we?"

The National Park was privately owned by the three Clans of Mirage with the three of them having an equal share in its ownership. The discussion whether to let it go public for tourism purposes was still ongoing, so technically, it was by far still exclusive only for Mirage Group members to explore. It wasn’t operational yet, but of course, she had the liberty to utilize its amenities with her beloved for three days!

Looking around, she had heard that there was still a lot to explore in this place, and it indeed had a magnificent view of the volcanic crater with an awe-inspiring and sacred crater lake filled by a natural hot spring. Chad had told her that everything they needed was already prepared there, so the only things they needed to bring with them were their personal stuff that she had already arranged.

"Help me with the luggage, darling," Raine requested with a grin. "Later, let’s use the cable car to get to the crater. I’m not in the mood for hiking right now, and we both need a lot of rest anyway so it’s okay to be lazy."

"You mean we’ll be lazy once we arrive there?" Nathan teased her with a mischievous grin.

Raine rolled her eyes and candidly declared, "Don’t worry, I won’t be lazy in warming up your bed, darling..."
